My study routine (for lectures)
Hi everyone! This is my study routine, specifically for lectures. I am a third-year uni student, but I’m still figuring out the best ways to study. This is the routine which works best for me at the moment:
BEFORE THE LECTURE: Open the lecture notes. Take notes, copying down any information that is relevant. Look up words if unsure of meanings to familiarise myself with new content before the lecture.Â
these notes go on loose-leaf paper and placed in a binder for that subject
DURING THE LECTURE: Bring a printout of the lecture notes to avoid extraneous writing. Copy down all additional information that is presented. Highlight any sections that you don’t understand or that you missed/the lecturer may have rushed through.
annotated notes placed in the appropriate subject binder
AFTER THE LECTURE: Â Re-listen to any highlighted parts of the lecture. Research further if necessary. Write every piece of information that is on the annotated lecture notes (both from the slides and your own notes) into an exercise book for the subject. Paste the annotated lecture notes in this book.
EXAM REVISION: the subject exercise book should include all information covered in lectures. Memorise via copying out, testing your knowledge, etc.
Hopefully this helps if anyone is interested in note-taking tips! Let me know your strategies for lecture note-taking, and happy studying!
