Legally Blonde (2001) /Â Thank, U Next (2018)
i always thought of a king sized bed as being a bit bigger than a queen, but now that i have one, i can tell you that a king sized bed is an absurdity. i can sprawl out, and my husband can sprawl out, and the cat can sprawl out, and none of us are touching. i reach out in the night, and find only pillows and plush walruses. i reach further and eventually find his elbow. he rolls over the comforters to try and find me. âi have crossed oceans of bed to be with you,â he says. there is a vast expanse of bed untouched, unmapped, unexplored. the cat is still trying to sleep on my face.

whatever your opinion about aang not killing ozai, I think we can all agree that ozai would have literally rather died than live the rest of his life as That Guy Who Got The Shit Kicked Outta Him By A 12-Year-Old Pacifist Monk.
me: aang is a very powerful avatar and the fact that he was able to mostly-master all the elements at such a young age means he would be a terrifying opponent!
also me: avatar rokuâs spirit spends at least 30% of his time haunting ozai, slapping trash can lids together & yelling âyou got beat up by caillouâ

hogwarts houses & autumn aesthetics
gryffindor. oversized jumpers; roasting marshmallows over a crackling fire; laughing hysterically while pumpkin carving; the smell of cinnamon and baking; playing in puddles with bright gumboots; hair blowing wildly in the wind; cute beanies with pom poms; warm, rosy cheeks; burning your tongue when you sip a hot drink too quickly; early morning runs; worn, flannel shirts; pretending to be a dragon with clouds of warm breath in the cold air
hufflepuff. long, woollen socks; vanilla-scented candles; a warm blanket over your shoulders; jumping into a pile of autumn leaves; fluffy earmuffs; creamy hot chocolate with whipped cream on top; hanging fairylights everywhere; playing with your pet on a warm rug; thick mittens; a warm bath to relax after a long day; the crunching of leaves underfoot; capturing the image of dancing leaves with a vintage camera
ravenclaw. people-watching through foggy windows in cafĂŠs; reading a favourite book by candlelight; long, thick scarves; staying up late to play board games; wandering aimlessly under falling leaves; oversized, knitted cardigans;Â muted sunlight filtered through autumn leaves; late nights binging on netflix; a chilly wind freezing the tip of your nose; scribbling in notebooks under overcast skies; the natural silence of the woods; the dancing tendrils of steam from a mug of hot tea
slytherin. cold and misty mornings; warming your hands on a mug of hot coffee; dark lip colours; the dance of walking barefoot across a cold floor; stylish, long overcoats; falling asleep to the pattering of rain on the window; meandering wooded roads; lace-up leather boots;Â the flickering of candlelight in the dark; lying on a tartan blanket while listening to music through headphones; burying yourself in soft, warm blankets at the end of the day

i have to get ready for my 7 hour shift in an hour, so ill be gone alllllll day but mayhaps leave me things to come back to?
finding your museâs voice
this is something that kind of randomly came to me to write. i thought it might be helpful to a few people to share! it took me a little while to learn this, but speech patterns are the most integral part of accurately portraying your character. and if it is an OC, giving them a unique and specific voice is an important factor in making them well rounded and original. here are a few things i have found make the biggest difference in figuring out your museâs speaking patterns. because you might know a character like the back of your hand, but when you go to have them reply to someone it becomes a STRUGGLE. and sometimes their dialogue can come out bland or feel off.Â
first off, itâs an important to remember no one speaks with perfect grammar. itâs a good idea early on to figure out the small nuances of slang and punctuation your muse uses. for example:     â that ainât a problem  â  vs.  â that isnât problem  â      â  i dunno what youâre talkinâ about. â  vs.  â  i donât know what youâre talking about.  â
additionally, does your muse tend to speak in long sentences or short fragments.     â  that ainât a problem for me or my people.  â  vs.  â  that ainât a problem for me. or my people.  âÂ
secondly, it is important if your character has an accent, or is multilingual  (  and even if not  )  to figure out how they use contractions and how their accent is integrated into their speech. donât be afraid to write the word the way it sounds coming from them. a lot of people unaccustomed to speaking english, will say things more formally. a big factor is contractions. how and when do they use: canât, wonât, donât, isnât etc. there is a difference between;      â  sorry, i cannot do that.  â  vs.  â  sorry, i canât do that.  â commonly, when someone is speaking more firmly or are trying to make a point, they will drop contractions.  â  i will not allow this.  â
the speed and confidence with which someone speaks is also very distinct for each individual. does your muse speak slowly and concisely, or do they tend to speak in rush sentences with a lot of stops and pauses as they try to put their thoughts together? do they have stutters, or words like  â uh, um, i think, maybe  â etc that they insert?       â  i, uh, was hoping, maybe, you might come to dinner - or we could do something else, i donât know, itâs up to you.  â       â  i was hoping you might come to dinner. or we could do something else. itâs up to you.  âÂ
when your character asks a question, whether literal or rhetorical, itâs important to know what order they place words in and where the inquisitive structure of the sentence is.      â  you got a real gratitude problem, you know that?  â  vs.  â  you know? you got a real gratitude problem.  â       â  do you know where weâre going?  â      â  where are we going, do you know?  â      â  where are/whereâre we going?  âÂ
something else rather vital to portrayal, is knowing how someone speaks and reacts when they are angry or excited. does your museâs voice get lower or higher in pitch? do they speak more loudly, or just more firmly.      â  i donât want your help!  â  she yells.  vs.  â  i donât want your help.  â  she mutters.Â
lastly, really just figuring out what sort of phrases and figures of speech someone uses really helps individualize them. as well as what sort of expressions they use if they are more on the sassy and snarky side what words/phrases do they commonly use to compliment? (  lovely, beautiful, wonderful, great, amazing etc ). with an OC itâs a good idea to pick a few words and have them use them consistently. what phrases do they use to be sarcastic?  (  â wow. â  â iâm so impressed. â  â yeah. iâm practically shakinâ in my boots.  â  â sure yaâ did. â  etc ) . what do they say if they are surprised or donât know what to say? if they swear, how often, when, and how do they use it. also which words do they use?  (  â  oh my god!  â  â  oh, god.  â  â  holy sââ!  â  â  fââ! â  â oh, woah.  â  etc. )
there is honestly a lot more i could talk about and break down, but these are just the basic major things that have helped me determine the voice of canon and oc muses alike. also the biggest advice i can give anyone: google synonyms for variety.Â
