Hi there! Check out our new video on the Koen concept!
We welcome all interested parties to learn more about Koen and to get involved in open innovation with Dutch Coast!
Last week 4 Dutch children with a congenital heart defect visited our design studio in Delft along with their parents. They were thrilled to test the models and prototypes of Koen and provided useful remarks to the design team!
The TU Delft design team, 40K Design, is developing a demonstration version of KOEN to test the principle with children with congenital heart defect. In January, 40K Design presents a SmartWatch, complete with user interface experience and business ecosystem. Stay tuned!
The Situation
We conducted a study on Congenital Heart Defect with children, their parents and doctors from the Sophia Paediatric Hospital. This revealed 5 problems fields: medical, physical, psychological, social and communication.
Koen de Krab is brought to life to stimulate physical activity by children with CHD. Not only does this increase their physical well-being, children will feel more comfortable in social play and accordingly they will feel more confident in life. Koen thus solves physical, psychological and social problems of the children.
Hi! I'm Koen de Krab. I stimulate children to move better! How? Through fun games which children operate with their heart beat!
This is the TU Delft design team behind KOEN. In association with Dutch Coast, they initiated the project, with the aim to improve the lives of children with a congenital heart defect.
