i think this is one of those moments — similar to when they travel to germany — where ciel is trying to understand sebastian. he doesn’t give him a hostile look for calling him a child; instead, it’s a contemplative one, focused on the way he phrased the sentence. it can also be translated as “children need sleep to grow up healthy.”
ciel doesn’t know whether sebastian is mocking him, or genuinely caring in a way that forgets there is no future in which ciel gets to grow up. the contract, which for sebastian was meant to last only a fleeting moment, stretches on longer and longer — but ciel is fully aware that its end is closer than its beginning.
sebastian, meanwhile, seems to think more and more often — perhaps unconsciously — about a future for the two of them, a future that simply does not exist in ciel’s mind.
it’s one of those examples that suggests sebastian may be slowly drifting away from the idea of devouring ciel, even if he himself hasn’t realized it yet.
inspired by other kuro 67 images ive seen recently. didnt use any references so its kind of wonky but its also alois trancy 67 so

just remembered the bullshit decision to make gilbert have sex with a 12 year old at 15-16 even though there was literally an entire arc where he tried to kill himself as a result of being assaulted and groomed his whole entire life.
there's lots of talk over on twitter about "did the author mischaracterize the character or did you just not like their decisions?" and i feel like lots of ppl will say i just don't like keiko's decisions but genuinely. in what world does that make sense???? that's such a stupid decision to make. even if the sex they had was technically consensual and they were both underage that doesn't mean they can just go and have sex oml i'm TIRED!!!! OF THIS!!!!
don't even get me started on the way camille was treated by the narrative.
Something something the cycle of abuse. Buy I agree it was such a weird turn to take for his character
but we already HAD that done with him assaulting Carl ... the context is much more different anyway because gil was 13 when he assaulted carl (a fellow 13-14 year old, making this COCSA)
the camille thing was done ON VOLUME 16!!!! after he realised what had happened to him and was ACTIVELY TRYING TO MOVE ON
also, no. he wasn't on drugs, but he WAS drunk when this happened..not that it means anything but y'know.
You're right, that was a lot more sensical story wise. I guess they tried to make him as shocking as possible, like he's actively destroying all the progress he may have made and the life Serge is trying to built for him, because he's a mess.
But even that is weird because he did want to be better? With all the "I wouldn't have went with them anyway" and trying to be at least semi-functional, which is hard because of the world around him not letting him.
But that didn't have much to do with the world being against him as much as him just out of nowhere doing something shitty to another person, a kid. The same way the upperclassmen treated him when he was her age.
I haven't looked at enough interviews from Keiko to see if she rationed it ever.

I opened new watercolour paints for this, don't super duper love how it turned out but I wanted to draw my boy in a medium more familiar to me.
"if i could only take all your pain away." they say knowing damn well they're the cause of each other's pain.
used this painting as a reference.
consider this part of recovery au, but i don't have a title for the new au so i can't tag it. sorry!
