I made a new blog! It’s because of the whole thing with Tumblr kicking us off our accounts on the pc. The email I used for this account got hacked in Venezuela and I forgot the answers to my security questions so that means I don’t have the password to access this blog on the computer. I can still access the blog via phone, but Tumblr mobile also has the tendency to kick me off at random times. So now I’m a little panicky and decided to make a new blog with a more frequently used email. This doesn’t mean I’m gonna abandon this one; I would like to stay active here as long as I can. The new blog @bokch01s is a back-up just to prepare for the unavoidable day I am no longer able to access this blog.

the shooter locked himself in pulse and police had to break into the club with a tank and controlled explosions. this was a gay club. this was a gay club. say what you want about gay clubs (it is not the appropriate time to say what you want) but they are for many, many people a place for safety, a place where it is all right to be open and free and good with yourself and this monster walked in to this club with an assault rifle because it gave that feeling of safety to specifically lgbt people.

this is what every family values candidate wants. this is what every person signing off on a bathroom bill wants. this is what every person who won’t let their kid join the GSA, or stands on the corner with a hate sign at pride, or calls for annie on my mind to be removed from the school library - this is what they want. they’re being coy about it, say it’s about families, about safety, but this is what they want. it’s not that they don’t want us to be happy - they don’t want us to be safe. they want us to be terrorized, always. they want us dead. that’s all they want. they want our deaths and the deaths of people who help us and the deaths in the cradle of anyone who might grow up to be us. and they have the tools to do it, with their trappings of power and their dishonest reading of the second amendment.

i thought i was done being afraid for myself, but i was kidding myself. there is no end to the fear, not if you are lgbt. there is no end in sight.

BREAKING: Up to 20 dead, 42 injured in Orlando gay nightclub shooting, gunman dead

An Orlando police chief has confirmed that a mass shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, left at least 20 dead and 42 wounded, according to the Associated Press. This is a developing story.

Update: The nightclub shooter, who “took hostages”, reportedly died in a “gunbattle with SWAT officers.” According to the AP, an FBI spokesman says the Pulse “mass shooting is being investigated as an act of terrorism.” Pulse responded in the moment last night with a heartbreaking and terrifying Facebook post.

Update: “I was thinking, are you kidding me? So I just dropped down. I just said please, please, please, I want to make it out,” said Christopher Hansen, a Pulse patron who told the AP he was in the nightclub’s VIP lounge when the shooting started, “And when I did, I saw people shot. I saw blood. You hope and pray you don’t get shot.”

Pulse describes itself as “Orlando’s hottest gay bar” on its website. The shooting took place during “Upscale Latin Saturday”, which Pulse celebrates weekly on Saturday nights. According to The Daily Beast, club owner Barbara Poma’s decision to open Pulse was spurred by a family tragedy. This is a developing story.

Update: Law enforcement sources told CBS News they have identified the suspect as Omar Mateen, a U.S. citizen from Port St. Lucie, Florida, who was born to Afghan parents in 1986.

The L.A. Times’ Matt Pearce confirmed authorities had given the name to the paper’s D.C. bureau as well.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office spokesman also told CBS how they are classifying this incident.

Orlando Police Chief John Mina has confirmed that a mass shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, left at least 50 dead and 53 wounded, according to Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.

Update: The father of Omar S. Mateen says the massacre was likely motivated by homophobia.

“This had nothing to do with religion,” the father added. According to him, the event may be tied to a homophobic incident several months ago in which Mateen became enraged.

not joking xD I saw this when I was like 14? my mom and I passed by a school for deaf kids called Bethoven and I saw a group of people of my age (in that time) and this girl seemed all salty with this guy, both arguing and the girl seemed to be winning the fight xD the guy had his own friends who were supported him but the girl’s friends and she were like this
