I had a hard time choosing which desserts to choose but with summer coming up and Colombias large amount of delicious and exotic fruits I thought it would be the best fit! Starting with MerengoĢn! Mine turned out looking a bit like a macaron haha! MerengoĢn is a traditional Columbian dessert! The top and bottom layers are made from meringue. A traditional merengoĢns center is filled with whipped cream and guanabana a very popular fruit in Columbia! However it can be filled with many other types of fruit! It is believed that meringue first originated in 17th century Switzerland and then further improved by a chef in Italy. Throughout history meringue based desserts have show up all over the world like Newzeland, Australia, Columbia, Switzerland, France and many more!! Our second dessert is cholados! Cholados is a beverage dessert originating from JamundiĢ, in the region of Valle del Cauca, Colombia. An icy dessert made from fresh fruit, crushed ice and condensed milk. It can also be topped with whipped cream, wafer cookies or even shredded cheese! It is a perfect dessert for a hot day as highlights the immense amount of diverse fruits in Colombiaāļø Both these desserts you can get from street vendors along with a plethora of other amazing dishes! Hope you liked this one! Next destination coming soon!
