🌈✊🏾 life update from goromu refugee camp, South Sudan
sometimes i feel invisible. i’m lgbtq, i’m a refugee, i’m living in a camp most of the world has never even heard of. and yet,i exist. we exist.
the nights are long here. safety is never guaranteed. food, healthcare, dignity… always too little. and if you’re queer, it’s even harder. being open can mean danger. silence feels like survival.
but i don’t want silence to be the only story. i want someone out there to know that we are here, that lgbtq refugees live, dream, laugh, cry, fall in love, fight for tomorrow.
if you’re reading this: remember us. share our stories. support organizations that protect queer refugees. the world can forget us so easily, but we don’t stop existing when it does.
