i am losing my mind over the fact that the most passionate kiss i have ever seen from disney, in a show that would have been disney channel if it had been made even 2 years earlier, was between two girls. like,,, troy and gabriella couldn’t even kiss in the original hsm because god what would the children think… we can’t have characters kissing that would be too vulgar. and the passion and the length and the desire we see between maddox and ashlyn i don’t think i’ve ever seen before in any disney property. and it was sapphic. 2023 is truly a year.

my headcanons if you will:

redlyn moments with maddox in the background with her sad longing gaze

maddox fumbling around ashlyn and trying to play it cool but just makes it weirder

maddox thinking she’s doing a really good job at hiding her feelings but everyone can tell she’s head over heels

ashlyn being oblivious because maddox is her new bestie and that’s really exciting for her so she doesn’t notice all of the secret pining and sometimes not so secret pining

someone (idk who (possibly jet)) will tell maddox she’s making it super obvious and that she should just tell her how she feels and she gets all flustered and is like “ i do NOT have feelings for ashlyn ✋” but ashlyn hears it and is like “🧍‍♀️oh”

Matt Cornett is not listed as a season regular for season 4, which means we wont get any resolution or happy ending for EJ’s whole struggle in season 3 we’re really just left with his dad hanging up on him, his girlfriend breaking up with him, and him feeling like he has no support system. The show painted him as the bad guy all season, let everything go downhill for him, had everything he worked for all season fall apart, and then demoted his role in the show.

i really do not understand why ej was so villianised… the character development through the entire series should’ve been so rewarding but instead they really just threw it all out the window. ej was doing his best with what material and support he had at the time- he really couldn’t have done it any other way and you can’t tell me that if anyone else was in his exact position that they could’ve done it better.

i’m so excited for season 4 because it seems unlikely that ashlyn and big red will break up, given how they were on the same page in the finale and when big red came out (!!!) ashlyn just looked so proud of him and as a day 1 redlyn i’m so happy that they’re staying together

and on the other hand, as a lowkey die hard madlyn, maddox is going to be pining so hard next season for ashlyn and it’s going to be so much fun to watch GOD i’m so ready
