#YeezySeason Is Here!

Today, Kanye West will present his third collection for Adidas, a show that promises to have fashion’s biggest sneakerheads at the edge of their seats. It was only a year ago that Yeezy was launched, and in a short time, West has released six different versions of his 350 low-tops and two different takes on his 750 high-tops. Add to that his blizzard-proof 950 duck boots—believe me, I lived in them during winter storm Jonas—and the season three styles being unveiled today, and it’s clear that another wave of Yeezy shoe mania is afoot.

For fans like me, scoring a pair is no small feat, what with the limited run of shoes in each drop. On that front, the future seems to be a lot brighter; word on sneakerhead fan sites indicates that there will be more love to go around this next season, and lower price points to boot. The next Yeezy news to be excited about, besides today’s show?

The latest iteration of the 350 in black, for those who missed it the first time around, is due to drop on February 19. Stay Tuned!

Apple Tart

Nothing says fall and winter like apples. It's the fruit you eat to keep the doctor away and to give you an all around feeling of goodness. I for one love to bake with them. From pies to tarts, apples go with so many different things and always come out the shining star of every dish. One of my go to apple recipes is this very simple apple tart. I've made this tart a hundred times over and I never see myself get tired of it. It's warm, sweet and tarty at the same time. What I love even more is that you can get creative with toppings. I usually stay on the safe side with nuts and caramel, but ice cream can always be thrown in the mix.

INGREDIENTS

1 whole sheet of puffed pastry

1 cup of brown sugar

¼ teaspoon of salt

juice of ½ a lemon

4 whole apples

Optional for serving: Caramel sauce (store bought is fine), chopped pecans, ice cream… the list is endless!

Tools: Parchment paper or non-stick cooking spray. I used parchment paper.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Bake Time: 20 - 25 minutes

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

2. Line the baking pan with parchment paper or spray it with non-stick cooking spray and

place the puffed pastry on top.

3. Core, halve and thinly slice the apple and place them in a large mixing bowl.

4. Add the sugar, lemon juice and salt. Stir to blend evenly. Set aside for 7-10 minutes.

5. Arrange the apple slices on the pastry. I like the diagonal arrangement as it looks

beautiful when the tart is cooked. Do not pour the sugary mixture over the tart.

6. Place in the oven and set your timer for 25 minutes. Keep in mind to check the tart as

the time goes to make sure nothing is burning as heat varies from oven to oven.

7. Once your tart is ready, remove it from the baking pan and place on a platter or grid.

8. Serve with your preferred topping and enjoy!

Must-Have Coats For Fall/Winter

I was once told by a runway fashion model that, "people should invest more in outerwear". True or false? Ok, trick question the answer is of course true. Think about it, if you live above the equator odds are you have about 8-9 months of awful, cold weather. Therefore, you're spending more than half the year needing a coat so why not invest in one of good quality and style? Here are my personal top 3...

1.The Longline

Longline means, well, long. A longline coat has an abnormal yet classic length at around your calf. These coats can often be called "dusters". The longline in a grey or camel wool is especially sharp and I highly recommend investing in one. ASOS kills it in their coat department, as does Zara.

2. Faux Fur

Faux fur around the collar/lapel is HUGE this season and I'm loving it. It gives your coat edge and extra chicness. It's especially popular on longlines and motos.

3. Belted

Surprisingly we're seeing a lot of waist ties on coats for the season. It's a bit more unconventional yet easy and gives off a comfy, cozy, robe vibe. The waist tie belts add detail to an otherwise simple coat and it's easily adjusted to fit whatever you have going on underneath!
