"A few months ago I came up with the idea to start the Young Creators and Visionaries Collaborative (YCVC), a @Kubitees initiative aimed at helping creatives and entrepreneurs of color gain or increase their experience, exposure, and connections. This past Saturday, on August 25th, I saw my idea come to fruition and all I’m left saying is alhamdulillah—praise be to God. I witnessed relatively complete strangers come together to collaboratively produce some amazing photoshoots, short videos, and flash fashion shows all in one day! The feelings of appreciation and gratitude that I have for being able to create something of this magnitude, and see it excel, are damn near indescribable. However, what I can say is that I did not do this alone. I want to give a HUGE thank you to the entire 2018 YCVC team, especially @glayneberry of the @thestrutmagazine and my amazing sister @badgalruru._. This is only the beginning for us, and I hope that other creators and entrepreneurs of color will be inspired by this and open to creating some magic for the next YCVC!
