a/n: is it silly to post something meant for april fools a whole month late? probably yes. however, we got free will, so fuck it we ball or whatever they say. i just needed to clear my drafts honestly. hopefully it's not too weird lol. if it is, then:😃 😛 💅🏼
it is early in the morning. light filters in through the living room windows, the walls glow in a soft yellow light. the wind is carrying along the scent of blooming spring flowers. seungcheol has just woken up, he is stretching on the couch, arms flexing as his hair falling messily on his forehead. his eyes are half closed as he leans back, letting out a deep breath. the calm doesn't last as a sudden scream jolts him up.
"ACKKKK." you scream on top of your lungs. seungcheol is by your side in minutes. "what happened love?" his eyes hold that concerned look as he takes in sight infront of him. you are standing in your pjs from last night, hair tied messily, eyes wide, as you jump from over the couch to the table, and then behind seungcheol.
"there's a mouse under the bin." you say, as you peek up at him from behind his shoulders, eyes still wide.
"WHAT???" now its seungcheols turn to panic, as he looks at you genuinely terrified. all the sleepiness has vanished from his veins.
"YES EXACTLY." you say terrified, as you gesture towards the bin. "I was here to grab my hoodie before making breakfast, and suddenly i saw a thing move."
"but are you sure its under the bin?' seungcheol asks, as he eyes the basket. "yess, i made sure it was under the bin," you tell cheol, eyes holding that terrified expression as you push him towards the bin.
seungcheol eyes the bin cautiously. "okay, i need you to bring a broom, and stay calm." he says. "let me see how to deal with this." you do as he says, handing him a broom, and stand right next to him.
"i thought you'd jump to the couch." seungcheol says, as he leans a little closer to the bin, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
"you're a better sheild." you mutter, clucthing the fabric of his hoodie, as you stand behind him.
"i cant hit it if you are behind me, what if i hit you by mistake." seungcheol says, breathing in, as he eyes the bin.
"okay, ill stand a lil to the side." you say, a ghost of smile threatning to break, but you get back in focus.
"alright, hitting it in 3, 2, 1." cheol counts down, before he strikes the bin, it goes flying to the side, cheol is ready to hit, expecting a mouse running out. what he hoewver does not expect, is a wireless mouse sitting perfectly on the floor. just like that.
his hands freeze mid air, before he turns around slowly. his head lifts up, and he gives you a clear dead pan. "love, seriously?"
you however are doubling over on the couch, hysterically laughing as you move towards him.
"oops baby, it's a prank." you giggle. cheol is staring at you at this point.
"happy april fools." you say, walking over to him as you poke his cheeks. he swats your hand away, but that only makes you ruffle his hair farther.
"come on. it was a good one." you say, teasing him. seungcheol pouts at you. "i was planning to lay on the couch and sleep." he says sulking.
"well now we have a memory to laugh about."
seungcheol groans. "dont tell me youre going to weaponize this against me."
you grin back at him. "you know how it is." giving him a quick peck, before heading back to the kitchen, preparing breakfast.
—
youre sitting on the dining table, breakfast is simple as seungcheol puts coffee on the table. and you open the dunk-in sauce. putting it on your pancakes.
"you want some?" you ask cheol. "too sweet" he shakes his head as he pushes a cup of coffee by your side.
"okay." you say putting it aside, slightly kicking his leg from under the table, the same teasing look in your eyes. cheol gives you a victimized look, as he takes a sip of his coffee.
you roll your sleeves up, and take a bite of your pan cakes, before spitting it out almost immediately. you eyes burn from the hot chilli taste in your mouth,
"WHAT IS THIS." you gasp, taking a sip of your coffee, only to spit that out too, as you rush to the sink. "CHOI SEUNGCHEOL." you seeth as you rinse your mouth.
it is now seungcheol's turn to laugh his heart out, his face is breaking into a grin so wide, you want to punch him, as he covers his mouth with his arms, shoulders shaking from hysteria.
"oops, baby. its a prank.' he says. grinning as he walks over to you.
"i hate you." you swat his hands away. now its your turn to sulk as you sit back on the chair, pushing the plate away.
"oh noo," cheol coos at you. hes insufferable as he teases you. you turn your face away, mostly just embarassed to get pranked right after you thought you won with your prank in the morning.
"come here." seungcheol says as he tugs your arms, using his legs to pull your chair closer to him.
"whaaaat." you say. youre just dragging it out, as you lean your head against his biceps. "when did you swap the sauce in the bottle. you ask, taking a bite of his pancakes. he pushes a new coffee cup towards your side. you eye it scepticallly, giving cheol a suspicious look. he raises his hands in the air. "i promise, this one's not tampered with." he says, taking a sip of it, smiling slightly, as he bumps his shoulder with yours. you both share your breakfast like that. arguing and laughing over who carried out the better prank.
after breakfast, cheol puts the dishes to the side, while you go out to water the plants. its a mundane activity really—you love the little garden in the backyard of your house. seungcheol and you share a lot of fond memories there—of mornings standing there and talking, evenings sitting on the grass. late nights spent stargazing.
as you pick up the hose to water the tulips, seungcheol opens the back door—to help you out, and spent time together—but as soon as he opens the door, a light bucket of water falls straight onto him. you blink, cheol blinks back. and then hell breaks lose.
"GET BACK HERE." cheol's sound echoes behind you but you are already running up towards the out door seating area, cheol at your tail.
"YOU'RE SO DONE BABY." he says, as you both stand on opposite side sof the sofa. he is soaked from head to toe, water dripping through his hair strands.
"CATCH ME IF YOU CAN!" you reply back, running towards the door to the inside, but cheol is fast, and even if you try to run towards the plants, you can feel him gaining behind you, just when you have reached the door to get inside, you find yourself getting yanked behind, and suddenly you're falling down. cheol cushions the fall with his hands. you both collapse on the soft grass.
your grin is still intact, though you are painful of the close proximity with seungcheol. his hair strands are wet, water dripping down, you can trace his features, the familiar curve of his jaw, his deep black eyes.
"aren't you a mischievious little thing." cheol says. his nose is almost touching yours now.
"wouldnt you like to know." you tease back, your breath is slightly hitched, though you try your best to not show it.
he leans in, and you think he's almost going to kiss you, but he just pulls up the water pipe from your side. sending a cocky smirk as he looks at your reaction, before he pushes himself, and pulls you up by one arm.
he's already turning around, watering the plants.
"HEY." you say, walking up to him. he looks at you. "what?"
you frown at him, a pout forming on your lips.
"where's my kiss?" you ask, tone half sulking half accusatory.
"i dont know, why am i soaked right now." seungcheol says.
"it was a prank," you say huffing as you cross your hands.
"i dont know, was it?" he ponders, turning around.
you walk up to him, and try to get a kiss from him. seungcheol being the tease he is, leans in but just as you think he's going to kiss you, he moves aside.
it continues like that all the way throughout the morning, he always leans in, and you think maybe he is going to kiss you, but he's turning the other way, or putting your hair behind your ear. and the painful thing is he knows. every time he leans in, he knows he's teasing you, and he knows its working. and damn does he enjoy it.
by lunch time, it has happened quite a few times, and now you're done with him, so you don't even look at him, sulking by yourself as you bite the food with more force then necessary, avoiding him, as you go back to sit on the couch, turning on a show you won't watch.
"you're brooding." a voice says behind you. you don't respond. you can feel the couch is dripping by your side , you turn the other way, but cheol is pulling you back, until you're flush by his side.
"go away." you say, though it lacks any real bite. however, cheol is already holding your chin with his hands, making you look up at him
"aww, is my baby mad i didnt kiss her?" cheol asks cooing.
"i hate you." you say, and cheol smirks. "you sure about that?" he teases.
"100%" you reply back, your sulking couldn't have been more clear.
"then how do i redeem myself?" he asks, as he plants a soft kiss to your cheeks. "i was a bit of an ass earlier."
'glad to know you're self aware." you say, giving him a side eye, but breaking into a smile as he kisses you again, and again, and again.
"you know, i was so sure you would be the one sulking because of my pranks." you say.
"that so?" cheol asks, his lips hovering over your ears. ahmm you say
well it was good to see you sulking, wanting my kisses. he says as he plants soft kisses all across your face. You're both smiling as he reaches out to pull the remote, wanting to enjoy some show together, but he stops mid way.
"…Is that …?" truly he is speechless because there you have removed all cells from the remote.
"you're stuck with watching my show now." You poke his sides playfully.
"oh you're a menace, tell me where the batteries are." he whines.
"make me" you bite back, and so seungcheol is tackling you on the couch, tickling you to oblivion as your both giggles echo in the living room.
this was definitely one of the best April fools in a while.

this was definitely one of the best April fools in a while.
When Seungcheol first met you, it was the start of freshman year in college for you both. You shared the same classes, had the same friends circle, and your interests kept aligning together. You both started dating not long after, and though there were many ups and downs in your relationship, you always found your way back to each other.
Years later, you both are successful in your respective careers, married, and have a daughter—a two year old meance with pouty lips and sparkly hair ties. And Seungcheol could never be more content with his life.
Morning sun rays filter in through the curtains, illuminating the room in soft glow. The weather is slightly cold now, Seungcheol lays there in the comforter, eyes shut in sleep. A phone call wakes him from his slumber, the letters "my love" display on the glowing screen. He smiles with eyes half closed, answering as you call from miles away, caught in a seminar that needs your attendance.
Initially you were sceptical of this certain trip, worrying that Hana, your two year old, won't be able to get by without you. But Seungcheol reassured you not to worry, that he'd take care of it. You didn't want to burden him more knowing that the the business he runs can be demanding, but he firmly insisted that it will be fine.
So here you are, attending a conference in another corner of the world, while he stays home, managing his business, and taking care of your toddler—a very pouty, cute and bubbly little toddler.
"I miss you" the speaker phone sounds, carrying Seungcheol's words to you.
"I miss you more love," you say back. Because it's true. It's only been two days into the week long trip and you can't wait to get back and cuddle with cheol or carry Hana around as you do your work.
"A weekend will pass really soon," cheol reassures through the screen, though his pout is still up.
"I know, but still I wish it didn't have to be so long." You say as you look up at your husband. It's infuriating how attractive Seungcheol looks even when it's just him waking up with messy hair strands falling across his face. He lets out a low hum.
"I can't wait for you to return love, there's some unfinished business left between us." He implies as he looks at you with suggestive eyes.
"Oh go away." You scoff, but there's a smile to your face now.
"Is Hana up yet?" You ask.
"No, she's still out." Seungcheol says as he checks the baby monitor. "Oh wait," he suddenly gets up from the bed. "She's trying to get out of the crib", he says. "I'll get to you later so you can talk to her." His voiced is slightly panicked as he worries Hana might lose her balance and fall.
"Okay" you laugh as you see him rushing to her room and the call ends between you. A fellow colleague prompts you to enter the meeting hall, and you take one final look at your appearance before walking in.
A week managing a toddler without her mother is going to be hard.
And that's the truth.
"MAMAAAAA" Hana's sobs echo through the hallways as she thrashes against cheol's arms, her nose snotty and hair messy. She's still in her PJs. Hana had barely gotten out of the crib before cheol was by her side, taking her in his arms before she hit the floor or hurt herself.
"Shh shh" he gently rocks her, "Mama's not here right now baby."
Hana cries even harder at the mention of her mother not being there, and cheol internally curses himself, "it's okay baby, Appa is right here." He coos softly as he rocks her gently in his arms. Hana continues crying in his arms, as cheol rocks her back and forth, the cries eventually slow down, replaced by occasional hiccups as she stares with wobbly eyes and lips jutted out in a pout at her father, who is now making funny faces, and exaggerated expressions to calm her down. And there in his arms, with tears stroking her cheeks, Hana starts giggling. The sound is like music to Seungcheol, who can't help but smile along as he tickles his daughter carrying her out, the sound of soft laughter echoing through the hallways of the penthouse.
—————
Breakfast is rather simple, Seungcheol was expecting himself to be ready for a war, but Hana was surprisingly cooperative, taking up small bites from Seungcheol's hands.
"Look Hana." Seungcheol says, making up some weird expression to get her attention but Hana doesn't care. Her interested is more apparent in whatever small toys are fixed at the edge of her food tray, repeatedly moving then from one line to another. Well at least the distraction makes her forget that she is supposed to make eating food harder for her parents. Little wins, Seungcheol smiles to himself, as he takes out another another spoon and feeds it to Hana.
Somehow Hana manages to get food on her hands and around her cheeks, even while being fed by a hand. This is a toddler level skill Seungcheol has still to understand the bases of.
Cheol sighs, as he takes a wet wipe as he cleans Hana's hands, her little hands are so small in comparison to his big ones. He swipes her cheeks clean, Hana looks at him with curious eyes as he takes her hands in his own and kisses them. She giggles at that, kicking her feet and Seungcheol feels like his heart would explode. Sitting there, in front of him, was something he vowed to protect, and he would spend his whole life making sure his daughter always keeps laughing like that.
—————
The vanity mirror is illuminated by soft lights, casting a warm glow around the edges, it's cloudy outside, but everything in the penthouse is warm. Cheol stands in front of the mirror, crouching a little. In front of him, Hana sits in a sparkly pink dress, playing with your combs as Seungcheol tries his best to focus on the task in hand. Aka, making sure Hana's hair are styled properly.
He tries, he really does. But Hana keeps moving in front of him. He would try to straighten her head but she would keep looking side ways, distracted by all the makeup sitting there. "Hana baby look" Cheol says. And Hana looks up at him from the mirror. "Appa" she claims excitedly, moving forward to touch his reflection. "Appa here?" She frowns. Looking back at him, puzzled as she looks again at the reflection. Hana always gets confused around mirrors and her confusion is quite apparent right now.
"Yes baby that's a mirror, you can see your reflection." Cheol says looking down at her, while also taking the opportunity to tie one side of her hair in pigtails.
Somehow he manages to tie the other side too. He even adds some pink bowties and hair clips to her hair. It's loop sided and a little messy, but Hana looks cute nonetheless. And once again Cheol can't help but coo at her. He takes out his phone out and clicks a quick picture, sending it to you before putting his phone down. He pushes her dark bangs to the side and picks her up. Hana moves her arms around his neck like it's second nature, as he carries her out of the room.
Inside cheol's home office, the heaters are on. Seungcheol just has to go over some drafts his assistant sent him, and Hana accompanies him inside.
She's sitting on the mat in the center of the room, right In front of Seungcheol as he sits on the sofa adjacent to his work table.
Hana makes little sounds as she moves her toy cars over the mat, lost in her own rhythm. Cheol keeps looking at her while working on his laptop. Her soft sounds act as background that keeps him grounded as he works through the emails. A while later he feels Hana walking up besides him. She peeks up at him from the side of the table and cheol opens his arms ready to pick her into his lap.
Hana however, shakes her head. "Appa no. Hana do ish." She says, as she walks up to him, a car clutched in one hand as she tries to climb up to his lap.
Cheol tries to take her hands but she frowns at him, "Appaaa." She exclaims and Seungcheol huffs a laugh, looking at his daughter trying to be an independent girl. Really he's just proud of her. He then lowers his legs further as he leans over to pinch her cheeks and Hana babbles excitedly as she jumps over one of his legs and crawls to his lap. Showing him her new favorite car as she lays there pressed to his side.
---------
It happens too suddenly, one moment Hana is playing with cheol's sleeves, next she somehow manages to spill a glass of water onto the papers sitting on the table.
Seungcheol takes a moment to process how it happened, momentarily stunned. He takes a breath in to calm himself as he processes what happened. Hana senses that she has done something wrong, and when seungcheol looks at her with that specific gaze. She pouts up at him. "Appa mad?" She asks, sitting up. Her face is turned into a frown and before Seungcheol can say something, her eyes are already watering up. She still looks at him, as Seungcheol softly places his arms on her side, making her face him. He doesn't scold her. Doesn't reprimand her. But he gives her one look, and explains to her softly. "Appa isn't mad at you Hana" he says, brushing a hair past her forehead. "But you should be more careful baby, appa needs those papers for work, you can't do things like that." He tells her gently.
Hana looks at him as if she is thinking "No spill?" She says as she looks at him. "Yes baby, no spilling water." Seungcheol corrects. Hana takes out one finger as if she is making a promise. A habit she must've taken from you, and cheol raises his own hand and laces the finger across hers. "Isn't my daughter so smart", he says. Thinking about the fact that she knew how to make promises after watching you put your pinky out once or twice. "Smart just like her mama." He says, lifting her up and using his free hands to grab some tissues and wipe the table.
It is evening now, seungcheol is dressed up in an oversized hoodie. A beanie covers his head as he pushes Hana's stroller through the park. The wind is soft, grey clouds form beautiful patterns in the sky, the weather is just perfect as he sits on a bench, Hana is in the stroller facing him.
"Appa" she asks, looking up at him with the specific look that spells trouble. She clutches her stuffed bunny in her hands and points towards the ice cream machine. "Appa con tonnow". It takes Seungcheol a second to realize she means cornetto as he follows her line of sight, and spots the ice cream machine. How did she even find the ice cream truck, for a toddler she sure was trouble dressed up in speakrly dresses.
"Baby you just had a fever last week." Cheol reasons with her, adjusting the sweater around her little body—but hana just pouts, she knows just how to poke his soft spots. "Appa pwease." she says, big eyes looking up at him. And screw Seungcheol for he thinks he can never say no to his daughter, specially if she asks him like that. And so he gets up, holding her stroller, as he goes and gets her a wafer sandwich instead, its not too cold, and somehow—suspiciously to say the least, Hana accepts the choco sandwich even though she asked for a cornetto. Cheol crouches down infront of her, and Hana offers him her sandiwch, crumbs sticking to her small chubby fingers.
"Appa ewaet" she says, as cheol makes sure the bunny in her stroller doesn't fall. "Appa is okay baby," he says, "but you have to promise me something," his face is mock serious now. Hana stares at him, taking a bite of the choco sandwich, as she looks at him. "promise appa that you won't tell mama about it, this is like our little secret." he says, and Hana nods her hand, still chewing her sandwich as she lifts her pinky finger and interlaces it with cheol "okay pwomise" she says. And cheol shakes his head at how cute she looks like that. He gets up, "okay let's go home now shall we?" he asks Hana as he strolls back to the apartment complex, listening to Hana babble about the surrounding. There was nothing he loved more than this.
By the time evening rolls in, the warm living room lights are turned on, making the kitchen glow with a sense of coziness in it. Hana is sitting on the toddler chair, as cheol cuts some veggies to add in the pan. The only sound filling the quiet is Hana making her toddler sounds as she plays with her little toys, zooming them in the air, and the sound of oil sizzling in the pan. Hana looks up at cheol with curious eyes as he stirs the pan, occasionally talking to her and explaining what he's doing.
"…and then we add the sauces to the pan and it goes like swoosh" he makes animated sounds and funny expressions and Hana claps at that. "appa again" she squeals. and so cheol makes up another funny face, making animated poses as Hana's giggles fill the air.
--------
As cheol sets the plates down on the table he prompts to adjust Hana's chair right next to him, feeding her as he eats by himself. Hana chews the food surprisingly cooperative. usually he'd see how much trouble she'd give to you as you tried to feed her, but now she's too calm. That calm however does not last long because soon he has to deal with Hana's tantrums again. "Hana just a few more bites" he urges but Hana just shakes her head, looking the other way. "noooo" she says, hitting her hands on the small table Infront as if to prove her point. Cheol sighs, shaking his head. "What about this Hana, look." he says, "Is that your food is coming in an aeroplane?" Hanas ear perk up at the mention of aeroplane, as she looks at him making zooming motions with the spoon, the big buff man is now making silly motions to get his daughter to eat, and god does cheol love spending time with his daughter and feeding her like this. Hana opens her mouth to eat another few bites, and cheol succeeds to make her finish dinner.
—————
Cheol has just finished wiping the counters when his phone rings on the counter, picking it up, he smiles when he sees that it is you calling him. he swipes the call up and smiles at you "hey love" his voice is warm as he sees you from across the screen. "Hello baby, what are you up to?' your voice sounds on the mobile.
Hana hears your sound through the phone. MAMAA she squeals excitedly, trying to get off the chair and get to the phone. Cheol is by her side in seconds, gently taking her off the chair and carrying her to the sofa as she holds the phone. "MAMA" she beams up as she looks at your face. miles away, you smile at her cuteness, "Did you miss mama? you ask her, and she nods her eyes getting wobbly. "Aww it's okay Hana, mama is coming back soon." Cheol says softly, adjusting her on his lap.
"Yes baby, and mama will make you chocolate cookies when she gets back." You say to her, as she lets out a lone sniffle. "pwomise?" she asks and you nod, "Yes baby, mama promises you " Hana smiles at that, she's blabbering about her day, telling you what she did as cheol looks fondly at the whole exchange. His two favorite girls are talking to each other through the phone. Occasionally he corrects Hana's spellings so she can speak properly.
…and we had con tonnow" she says as she tells you about going to the park. "what did she say," you sit up, and suddenly cheol is scrambling. "baby I can explain, He sits up and takes the phone in his hands.
"you let her have ice cream? you ask raising your eyebrows. "Well technically it was a cone sandwich" He says scratching the back of his head, as he gives you a seepish smile. You give him a dead pan look as he scrambles fumbling upon his words as he tells you "I promise I checked the temperature, it wasn't cold.
"This was supposed to be our secret Hana, cheol pouts at her and she giggles at her dad's antics, reaching out to grasp her teddy from the side, as you lecture seungcheol about Hana getting fever again.
You keep talking for a while, between cheol asking about your work and updating about what happened during the day. Hana is yawning in his lap now, face planted against his chest as she looks at you drowsily. You say your goodbyes to them, so that Hana can go to sleep and both of you can rest after the long day. You can't wait to see your family again, just a few days of seminar left, it feels like forever.
By the time cheol baths Hana, she is already fast asleep, dressed in her soft teddy bear PJs, her chest rising and falling softly as her brushes hair strands from her face. Seungcheol sits there for a long while, looking at the way her hands hold her bunny in one hand and tightly grip his sleeves in the other. He takes in her small nose and thick eyebrows, a trait she got from him no doubt, and he thanks the universe for letting him have something so beautiful. Years ago, this was a dream he never let himself imagine, but now, being a husband and a father was the best thing to ever happen to him. And he would spend forever, working to give you both the best life.
"Good night hana," he whispers as he leans in to kiss her forehead, "Appa loves you so much baby", he says, as he slowly gets up, careful not to wake her up. He adjusts the blanket around her, switching on the soft nightlights as he stands in the door way, taking in the soft glowing room as he shuts the door, to finally clean up the house before going to sleep.
And Seungcheol thinks to himself that he is one extremely lucky man.

the door to the toy store opens with a bell, and the sound of tiny foot steps running fast echoes through the silence. behind the counter, the staff smiles when they see the little fluff ball running towards the racks.
"hello hyunwoo." the old lady says, walking up towards the little boy, dressed in a dinosaur hoodie. wonwoo walks in not far behind, carrying his two year old daughter, byul. she is wearing a glittery coat, and her braids are visible from under the furry cap she's been forced to wear.
hyunwoo, looks at the staff shyly, as he stands behind wonwoo, tiny hands holding to his coat. wonwoo puts his hand out for hyunwoo, gently tugging him forward. "hyunwoo-ah, what do we do when someone says hello to us?" he asks, looking at his son.
"hello auntie." hyunwoo bows down, hands folded neatly infront of him. he looks up at the staff. the old lady chuckles at him. "aigoo, such a well mannered kid." she says, as she looks up at wonwoo.
byul who has been seeing the whole exchange, waves her tiny hands at her. "hewoo" her voice is soft but sure, eyes shining brightly as she smiles at the staff lady. byul is the confident kid, while hyunwoo takes after his father, the quiet and shy one.
"and what made these angels come to our shop today?" the old lady asks. "get toys!!" byul states excitedly, as she giggles while looking at her father.
hyunwoo smiles at his sister, as he tugs his father's hand towards the toy racks. byul tugs his shoulder, "appa, down." she says, as wonwoo lets her down on the polished floors as she runs behind her brother. her little shoes make squeaky noices against the floor.
"what are you going to get hyunwoo?" wonwoo asks pushing his glasses on his nose, as he crouches besides his son. byul is standing right next to him, her eyes are big and curious as she looks at the racks and racks of toys.
"i want to get everything." hyunwoo's mouth is wide open, as he looks at all the flashy cars lining up the shelves. wonwoo chuckles adjusting hyunwoo's cap. "mama said you can get two toys." then he leans in, his tone conspiratory next to hyunwoo's ear. "but appa will let you get four toys, whichever ones you want." his eyes hold mischief, as he winks at his son.
hyunwoo's eyes brighten as a grin forms on his face. "really?" he asks, "would mama get mad?" he's looking at wonwoo with hope in his eyes. wonwoo smiles, "i'll talk to mama, you can get two more toys." he says, as he pats his shoulder. hyunwoo grins, running towards an adjacent shelf as he looks at the toys stacked there.
wonwoo gets up, frowning because byul isn't at his side. he looks around, and a few steps away, byul is sitting with a teddy on the floor, as she reaches out to grab a few more teddies on the bottom shelf. but before she can reach for them, wonwoo is by her side, picking her and the teddy bear up.
"byul-ah." wonwoo says, as she reaches to grab the teddy from his hands. byul looks up at him, pouting because the teddy bear is too big for her to handle. wonwoo chuckles at her expression, adjusting her on his arms. "baby we are not supposed to put the toys on the floor, they will get dirty." he tells her gently. byul nods in understanding, "m-kayy." she says, already distracted by the fur on wonwoo's coat. wonwoo smiles, carrying her to where hyunwoo stands.
"chose your toys, big boy?" he asks, as the little boy looks up at him. he's holding two lego sets. hyunwoo holds them out to wonwoo. "can i get these appa?" he asks his father.
"of course, whatever you want." wonwoo tells him. hyunwoo nods his head. "but where do i put these?" he's looking up at him, the lego sets are too big for him to carry. wonwoo gestures towards the trolley next to them.
"i didn't see you bring this!" hyunwoo's eyes light up as he rushes towards the cart. "can i sit on this?" his eyes are hopeful as he turns back to his father. wonwoo hums, walking towards his son. he sets byul and her teddy bear down, hyunwoo puts his lego sets in the cart, before he is holding his arms up. hyunwoo grins as wonwoo picks him up.
"you're getting heavy." wonwoo says as he puts him next to byul, who giggles as hyunwoo puts his arms behind her. wonwoo smiles at them, "you didnt get four toys though?" he asks hyunwoo, who looks up, eyes getting a little wide. "i got excited seeing the legos, i forgot about it. can i get out?" he asks his father.
wonwoo chuckles, as he picks him up, getting him out, but byul wants to follow her brother too. "appa, out.' she says, and wonwoo smiles, setting her down too, as she folows her brother.
Hyunwoo holds her hands tightly, as they both walk down the shelves stacked with toys. Hyunwoo picks up a stuffed dinosaur, and holds it to his father, "appa look!" he says, this one looks like my jacket. wonwoo hums, "it looks cute, do you want it?" hyunwoo nods, putting it in the cart, all the while he is holding byul who is getting visibly tired, but still stubborn as she walks around holding her brother's hands.
"i still have to get one more toy" hyunwoo says, as wonwoo adjusts, byul's cap, she frowns, about to take her cap off, but he's already tied its strings under her chin. "got you naughty princess." wonwoo smiles at her frown, as she looks accusingly at her father, she pouts then, turning towards her brother, again holding his hands, as hyunwoo gives her a kiss.
"can we get this for mama?' hyunwoo asks, looking at at wonwoo. "i've got the toys i want." he says, as he holds up a little whale plushie. "mama says she likes cute things."
wonwoo smiles at his little boy, "you sure? do you not want anything for yourself?" he asks, but hyunwoo shakes his head smiling at him, as he puts the plushies to the cart.
byul has found attention in a medium sized doll on the same rack, as she brings it to her father. "appa this." she says, as she holds it out to him, before she is running away again. wonwoo smiles, that even if she is little, she still knows that wonwoo will get her whatever she wants. he loves being a safe space for his family.
"alright champ, should we go now?" he asks his son, who nods, before he is running behind byul and holding her hands. "byul-ah, dont run like that, you will get lost!" he tells her. even if the shop is small and secure, hyunwoo has always been extra protective of his sister.
wonwoo chuckles, taking his phone out as he takes a picture of them both. his son was just like him, always caring for everyone. wonwoo finds this really sweet.
they check out after paying at the counter. wonwoo holds the shopping bags, as hyunwoo and byul walk infront of him. hyunwoo is walking at a slightly slower pace, holding his sisters hands. byul is busy babbling randomly to him, and hyunwoo is listening to her, both of them talking about getting home to show you what they bought.
-------
you have just finished making dinner when the front door of the house opens, and in comes hyunwoo, running fast, as byul giggles following him, the sound of shoes squeaking echo through the wide hallway.
"MAMA WE'RE BACK." hyunwoo says, as he rushes to you, hugging your legs, byul follows behind, "MAMA UPPP" she says, as you lean in, ruffling hyunwoo's hair, giving him a kiss, before picking up byul, kissing her soft cheeks.
"did my babies have fun?" you ask, and hyunwoo hums, "i got you something too!" he says proudly, just as wonwoo enters from the door, holding the bags. you smile as wonwoo walks where you all stand. "Good Evening" he says, leaning in to kiss you, before byul is shifting in your arms, eager to be held by her father.
"hyunwoo is already taking the bags from wonwoo's hands as he tugs your arms. "Mama look at what we bought!" he says, leading you towards the lounge. wonwoo follows behind, holding byul, who is now slightly drowsy. "Easy princess, we have to eat dinner." he says to her softly. byul lets out a sound that sounds like a tiny groan, as she frowns at him, but eventually she starts playing with the necklace dangling across wonwoo's neck.
hyunwoo takes out the lego sets, putting them in your lap. "i got these so i can play with appa." he says, showing them to you and wonwoo. "can we play with these soon?" he asks looking at wonwoo. wonwoo nods, "of course, little man, lets build them on the weekend." he says and hyunwoo nods smiling.
"show me what else you got?" you ask and hyunwoo takes out a dinosaur plushie. "appa said i could get four toys, so i got a plushie. he says, he looks unsure, so you smile at him, pushing his hairs aside from his face.
"it's okay, appa can get you a few extra toys here and there." you say, and wonwoo smirks by your side. "you know i was ready for you to be mad at me." he says. "im actually a very chill mom, thank you very much." you side eye wonwoo, who just bumps his legs with yours.
"…anddd, i got this for you." hyunwoo says, now holding the whale plushie. "it looked cute, and you like cute things." he says, looking proud as he holds it in front of you.
"oh my, sweetheart. this is so nice of you," you say as you take the plushie from his hands. hyunwoo looks proud. "appa said i could get something for myself, but i got this for you!" he says, as you pull him to a hug.
"isn't my baby so sweet." you say as he hugs you back. hyunwoo giggles a that, leaning in to kiss you, followed by a kiss to wonwoo. he then settles between you both.
wonwoo puts an arm around your shoulders, as hyunwoo leans against his arm. your daughter is already snoring as her face is buried in wonwoo's chest. "byul slept before she could show you her toys." hyunwoo says as a little yawn escapes him.
"lets get you to eat dinner, and then you can sleep too." wonwoo says, standing up, as he tries to wake byul for dinner. you grab hyunwoo's hands, as he follows his parents to the dining area. a soft evening wraps up like that.
synopsis: it's april fools and there is no harm in a few pranks now, is it?
genre: fluff, est. relationship
wc: 1.7k
a/n: is it silly to post something meant for april fools a whole month late? probably yes. however, we got free will, so fuck it we ball or whatever they say. i just needed to clear my drafts honestly. hopefully it's not too weird lol. if it is, then:😃 😛 💅🏼
it is early in the morning. light filters in through the living room windows, the walls glow in a soft yellow light. the wind is carrying along the scent of blooming spring flowers. seungcheol has just woken up, he is stretching on the couch, arms flexing as his hair falling messily on his forehead. his eyes are half closed as he leans back, letting out a deep breath. the calm doesn't last as a sudden scream jolts him up.
"make me" you bite back, and so seungcheol is tackling you on the couch, tickling you to oblivion as your both giggles echo in the living room.
this was definitely one of the best April fools in a while.

it early in the morning. seungcheol is sitting next to his daughter. she is curled up in the blanket, eyes resting closed as her tiny chest rises and falls in a soft rhythm. sunlight spills through the window casting a soft shadow on his cheeks, as he rests his head next to his daughter, eyes softening noticeably.
"aren't you the cutest?" he coos at her, lightly poking her cheeks. hana stirs in her sleep but does not wake up, her hold on the stuffed bunny tightens. seungcheol smiles as his fingers trace a line across her cheeks. "wake up princess, its morning." he says, but hana doesn't stir. if anything, she seems to settle depper into the warm cocoon of her blanket.
he chuckles, leaning closer. "what? you don't want to wake up?" he asks, and hana stirs slightly. he sees the moment her eyes open before abruptly closing again.
"oh did you get up baby?" he asks her. but she squeezes her eyes shut and continues to sleep, but the corner of her lips curl up.
"i wonder if my baby is sleeping?" cheol says in wonder as he tickles her slightly. a smile breaks on hana's face but she keeps her eyes closed.
"yeah she's definitely asleep." cheol says, tickling her sides.
hana squirms in glee, a soft giggle escapes her and her eyes flutter, her gummy smile showing as she buries her face into the pillows.
"i can't see if my baby is sleeping." cheol is teasing her, now fully tickling her sides. hana's giggles fill the air as she squeals in response. cheol laughs along. "gotchu princess." he says smiling as he picks his daughter up, who has a wide grin on her face as cheol carries her off the bed.

"gotchu princess." he says smiling as he picks his daughter up, who has a wide grin on her face as cheol carries her off the bed.

an: tbh, i feel like i could have written this better, nonetheless, i hope you enjoy this drabble i wrote in a hurry :) happy mingyu day!! also, this one can be considered a continuation of my previous mingyu drabble. if you haven't read that yet, you can check it out here
It's still early in the morning. The sun hasn't fully come up yet. Mingyu woke up a while ago, you were still asleep when he slipped out of the sheets. Today is Monday, and you have a day off. Which means you will probably oversleep, getting well deserved rest. And as much as mingyu would love to stay in sheets with you, he needs to work out and put his muscles to work, so he pulls himself up and gets a cold shower to wake himself up.
He's dressed up in his workout clothes, as he crouches near your side of your bed. "I'm going to the gym love." He says, as he places a soft kiss to your forehead. You murmur something that sounds like "okay" in your sleep, frowning as you drown farther into the comfort of the warm blanket.
Mingyu chuckles at your reaction. He looks at his watch, he has an hour before he should head back for breakfast. He gets up, and closes the door to your bedroom softly. He pads softly against the floor, going towards jiwoo's room. The hallway is glowing sofly, morning light comes in through the curtains. Really he just wants to check on his daughter before going out.
Mingyu pushes the door open as quietly as he can, softly walking towards her bed. Jiwoo is clutching her bunny in her sleep, he leans in to give her a kiss, but doing so, jiwoo's eyes open up.
"Appa?" She asks, eyebrows pulling together. And mingyu curses himself for waking her early. "Yes baby." Mingyu says, adjusting the blanket around her.
"What are you doing?" She asks, pushing the blanket down, as she sits up. Her hair are slightly messy from turning around in her sleep. "Who's the ghost now," mingyu thinks, smiling to himself. "Nothing baby." Mingyu says smiling at his daughter. "I just came to check in on you." He states, as jiwoo crawls up to his lap.
"Are you going out?" Jiwoo looks up at him.
"Why would you say that?" Mingyu asks, it is beyond him how jiwoo catches all details while being a little kid.
"You're dressed up." Jiwoo states. As if it is the most obvious thing ever.
"Ah well, I was going to the gym." Mingyu says, because he would never lie to his daughter.
"Can I come too?" There it is, the question mingyu was dreading.
"No baby, it's a place for big people to work out." He says. Jiwoo frowns at that. "But I want to go. You always go there." She says pouting at him.
"Well that's because appa is big, when you grow up, we can go together." Mingyu says pinching her cheeks.
"Pinky promise?" She asks, holding her finger up. Mingyu connects their fingers together. "Pinky promise." He states, and jiwoo smiles. It's the same smile Mingyu would trade his world for.
Jiwoo sits there in his lap, before she is looking up at him again, and the look in her eyes spell clear trouble. "Appa." She states, and mingyu knows exactly what she's going to ask. "Can you take me to the park now?" Mingyu sighs, adjusting jiwoo in his lap, making her look at him.
"Appa has to work out baby." Mingyu reasons. "If I don't go to the gym, I can't be a strong man for you or mama." He says.
But jiwoo just frowns at him. "You can go to the gym tomorrow." Jiwoo is already trying to reason with him. "Pleaaaaase." She says, blinking up at him.
And there goes whatever plans mingyu had for working out in the morning, because the next moment he is picking jiwoo up and setting her on the edge of the bed. Jiwoo giggles. "I love youuu." She sing songs, lightly kicking her feet as mingyu takes out a pair of sneakers.
"I love you too, little trouble." Mingyu says, as he puts on jiwoo's socks before tying the laces of her shoes.
"Oh I like these shoes!" Jiwoo says. "They're like a unicorn." She states, as she tells mingyu about how much she loves glitters. Mingyu smiles hearing jiwoo talk, as he tugs a coat around her neck, getting her dressed in a warm coat, considering it was too cold in the morning.
"Alright, we're good to go." He states, holding jiwoo's hands as they both exit the penthouse. Jiwoo is tapping her feet and humming some tunes as the lift dings softly, indicating that they have reached the bottom floor.
"Let's goooo." She says, little legs running ahead of mingyu as she runs out of the lift.
"Easy there princess." Mingyu says, reaching out to hold her hands. "What did mama and I tell you about going out?"
"That I should not run out and stay by your side." "Ahmm. What else?" Mingyu asks.
"To always hold your hands, when we go out, so I don't get lost."
"And were you doing that now?" Mingyu asks, they're both on the side walk now.
"Ummm. Nooo." Jiwoo says kicking a pebble to the side.
"So will you run away again?" Jiwoo shakes her head. "Nope," popping the p.
"Alright then, do you want appa to lift you up?" Mingyu asks.
Jiwoo hums, holding her hands up as mingyu picks her up. They keep walking, jiwoo talking about anything and everything, mingyu nodding along and engaging her.
"Ooh look appa!" Jiwoo points towards the swings as mingyu puts her down. "Can I ride the swings?" Jiwoo asks, jumping as she holds mingyu's hands pulling him with her.
Mingyu chuckles as he ruffles her hair. "Sure. Let's go there." They both reach the swings. Mingyu makes jiwoo sit on the swings and pushes her lightly.
"Weeee." Jiwoo claps as she enjoys the ride. They stay there for a while, jiwoo riding the swings, mingyu pushing her.
They try the slide next, mingyu is standing behind jiwoo, his hands close, not reaching but close enough to steady her Incase she gets dis balanced. Jiwoo is smiling the whole time. How is she so energetic in the morning. Mingyu has to will himself to go to the gym and here jiwoo is, if you ask her to run a marathon in the morning, mingyu doubted she wouldn't want to do that too.
"Tired yet?" Mingyu asks jiwoo, as he adjusts her coat around her. "Are you cold princess?"
"Ummm, noo." Jiwoo says, "But I'm hungry." She states, learning her weight on mingyu's legs as she looks up at him.
"Should we go home now?" Mingyu asks her and she nods. "Will you carry me?" Jiwoo asks.
"Why, are you tired already?" Mingyu teases jiwoo, who pouts at him. "Appa I'm three. I can get tired after playing."
"Well that means, we need to feed you more then." Mingyu says picking her up.
"Yesss, can I eat the cookies then?" Jiwoo asks and mingyu chuckles. "Not the cookies jiwoo, they are not healthy."
Jiwoo frowns as she looks at him. "But you just said I should eat more."
"Hmm, but that's for eating healthy things."
Jiwoo thinks for a moment, then. "Can we have pancakes then? With blueberries?"
"Are you craving them?" Mingyu asks, adjusting his hold on her.
"Yes, and add yogurt too!" Jiwoo says as she leans in to give mingyu a kiss.
"Jiwoo-ya, are you trying to bribe appa?"
"Nooo." Jiwoo says though she is smiling, mingyu smiles at that too.
"okay then, let's make breakfast before your mama wakes up."
They head back to the penthouse, the door clicks softly as they both step inside. Mingyu takes off his shoes, before helping jiwoo into her house slippers.
Mingyu checks in to see that you're still fast asleep, before he turns back. Jiwoo is helping herself climb on the kitchen counter. She sits there, and beams when she looks at mingyu coming in, he has his sleeves folded now. And he pokes jiwoo's cheeks slightly. "Alright then, lets get cooking." he tells his daughter.
Jiwoo claps, "yess appa lets make the pancakes." she says, swinging her legs. "Mingyu peels an apple and hands it over to her, before opening the cabinets and mixing the pancake batter. he lets jiwoo help in stirring the spoon, gently guiding her on how to mix it properly.
Their occasional laughter echoes through the hallway as they talk and work together. You wake up to the sound, stretching as you get out of the bed to freshen up before you ar epadding towards the kitchen. Jiwoo insists on placing the blueberries on top of the pancakes, mingyu acts like he doesn't want to, but he is actually helping her place them properly.
"OH MAMA YOU'RE UP." jiwoo states, excitedly. she almost loses her balance, but mingyu is quick to catch her.
"careful baby." he says steadying her as she runs over to you, hugging your legs.
"mama, we actually went to the park!" she says, and you smile at that. "oh did you really?" you ask your daughter, holding her up. Jiwoo is playing with your hair.
She nods, grinning ear to ear, as mingyu walks over to you, giving you a forehead kiss. "I thought you went to the gym," you ask cocking an eye brow.
"You know it is." mingyu simply shrugs, guiding you to the chair. He pulls his own chair next, settling next to you, jiwoo sits besides you both. shes humming some nursery rhyme as she asks "Mama how are the pancakes?" You hum as you take a bite, "They're actually so yummy." You tell as both jiwoo and mingyu smile hearing that. Jiwoo goes on, telling you about how she wants to spend the day, and Mingyu just looks at you both with a fond smile in his eyes.

Jiwoo goes on, telling you about how she wants to spend the day, and Mingyu just looks at you both with a fond smile in his eyes.

the door to the toy store opens with a bell, and the sound of tiny foot steps running fast echoes through the silence. behind the counter, the staff smiles when they see the little fluff ball running towards the racks.
