We all Sleep

Justice vs/and compassion

A part of me wants to make trouble. When hurt, when facing injustice, it screams, it shouts. Those who hurt others, I want them to face justice, to apologize to their victims, to appear before every tribunal on earth and receive the worst sentence available. But love and compassion stop me. The savior's voice moves my spirit as he says: "blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God." I don't need to seek revenge on my own, My Father will fight for me.

We, the Humans

I am always surprised how much drama

we, as humans, are capable of creating.

Give us jsut three weeks and we end up with classics

Now we have our own Scarlett Letter

We have a Paradise Lost,

a triangle relationship,

a forbidden love....

It wasn’t until I was locked in a room with 28 other emerging african female leaders that I realized I had forgotten how to follow, how to be humble and how to be aware. Great lessons, but 3 weeks is soooo long. I never thought I would get tired of 3 weeks spent with 28 amazing women… but yh, I can’t bear seeing versions of myself everyday… However I am surely grateful there is a bunch of us out there.

The Time Struggle

I feel so removed and lost,

Too busy for even some personal time,

this is too much..

but somehow I like it,

but is there a way I draw a balance,

take time to please people,

have time to love them

while working on the success of my endeavours?

I am leading a project to drill 10-15 water wells in Rwanda. I asked the amazing young people in my team what they thought about drilling. I am posting their responses.

Self Acceptance

I remember singing in my first year of secondary school a song about growing. It had a line that kind of reminisced the time it takes to know oneself and the subsequent time it takes to accept oneself. I used to think it is a on-time process. the coming of age. but I have found that the secret to being young in our old age, of being humble in our success, is constant self-description and acceptance.

I believe we come of age many times in our life, it is why coming of age stories appeal to all audiences. We are constantly defining ourselves and struggling to accept and have others accept us without conforming or by conforming. Or maybe, I am in my coming-of-age phase and I will one day reach a time and space where I will for sure know who I am and the hurtful comments of others or the judgements will no longer matter. But as of now, no judgement is greater than my own self-criticism, and I am thankful.
