Studio VI - Atlaren poster
This will be the final poster for assessment and exhibition.
Studio VI - Fix potential problem
We are at the final stage of being finalized and tested the AR performance. The problem we had while running it on devices is that due to complicated detail, the GPU is not working fine. Specifically, the GPU has to render a huge amount of geometries every seconds, I think this is the major reason why of being lagged while running. As a result, this influence the overall watching experience. to avoid that. We have to delete the too many details in the scene, such as some trees, people and I remove as many physics as possible. Now, it is working fine. I find that shortage of using AR on devices like tablets or phone, because the CPU, so far it does not support the complex scene with many details.

Studio VI - Weekly report
This is week 11. According to the progress, the good news is that we are one week earlier than the planned schedule. Myself, what I did in the paste weeks, I have mentioned already in previous blog, which is that I am giving up the flying ship animation. Since it is meaningless. This week I am in the finalizing stage, what I will do this week is to test the AR by improving the detail. I am asked to polish the Dom with real water effect on. I will try my best to approach it with shader scripting, if I cannot achieve that, I will leave it. By the way, the video has been finished this Monday, which I posted it on the Youtube early today. The rest of team members, they will cooperate on the poster design and the final document on the Wix, I will be fully supervised during this time for giving constructive suggestions and critical feedback.

studio VI - Making clouds
What I have done today (5th Sep), is that I deleted the unnecessary stuff such as the flying ship and its animation. Because this animation is unrelated to the underwater city when I exported it to the phone for a look. However, we will move it to the final document for introducing the change of the transport in terms of the looking. In addition, I made a 1 mins long sun light animation by adjusting its color change, which is from the sunup to the sunset. Basically the in the morning the dome rise up, it divides in the water in the evening time. The last thing is that I am keeping using the particle system to make the clouds above the Atlaren, which I think this is adding more realistic elements.

This is camera view animation for giving people an overview of Atlaren.
Since the large size in my unity asset. I have to create a new project for this animation. The team member will e in charge for the editing this.
Studio VI - keep adding buildings
The last two models are successfully import to unity, which is the scientific institution and the apartment&hotel. In the meanwhile, my computer also reaches the limit; in other words, because the large-sized file model. It could not add in anything anymore. The good thing is that so far we are pretty much finished the part of the augmentation.

Studio VI - Animate fly ship and add audio sources
Officially start animating the fly ship, also add the audio resources in. I am using traditional approach to the animation of the object movement and audio change by distance. Nonetheless, there is something need to fix up, which is the audio part. To e honest, doing animation on unity is a frustrating thing, I have to fix something by changing the dope sheet in the timeline.
Studio VI - How to make final document
The group has been discussing about the detail about how to make the final document. At the beginning, we held the opinion of having a paper format document introducing the world we build. When I look back the spaceship 2050 web, I find that it is better having a digital format document in terms of the quality.
Basically, we are allowed to use the Wix to create a website with the bar in the left. The people will be able to navigate different pages. Inside the each will be introducing the detail of the building such as the functionality and material. In the home page, this is going to be the main story, which briefly introduces the background of the world.
Moreover, we also will make a 10 seconds long video with zoom in and out perspective that allowed people to get more information about the world.
StudioVI - Progress achieve
Complete the simple dome animation, which will raise up under the water. One thing I need to mention is that, if the particle is smaller, the better effect you will achieve. So what I approach in terms of the raising water effect is made one by using the circle shape. The circle shape has a kind of spreading effect then I duplicate four of them and paste on the location of where the branch dome will appear, finally to find the best scale size with it. To be critical, what I made now in this video, I think that I still need to adjust certain variables in the particle system to maki it looks more realistic. The good thing is that, as the water effect be made, we can he'd to the direction of where we set up at the beginning.
Studio VI - Add in fish farm
As I post earlier in the blog, we will make the fish farm for in the marked location. Today, we make it. This is a food supply function for the resident.
Studio VI - Weekly report
This is week 9. In terms of the amount of the work, I think we are 70% finished of all. This week, I will still doing the flying ship animation. In addition I will animate the dome raising up as well since I can make the water effect. Regarding the flying ship animation, I will not using the waypoint AI scripting method but to do it with the traditional approach. The dome building we still have two unfinished, which are the scientific institution and apartment, it will get it done by the end of next week according to the schedule. The audio part is not having much work, the guy who is doing the audio now can start making the final graphic document, 10 seconds edited video of overview building introduction and project poster.
Studio VI - I can make it!!!
I struggled with the water effect for a long time. Yesterday I spent a whole afternoon, and ultimately I have a progressive outcome, which is the water effect influenced by the building raising up. It is still made by the particle system. It also means I can try with the ship water effect, however I think there is no point doing that because I do animation for telling story, which means there is no need to do animation without having meaning. Subsequently, I will make a simple raising up animation with it.
Studio VI - Not happy with the waypoint animation
The waypoint animation is not an ideal tool. In the unity utility menu. There is a scripting bar for the waypoint animation, it requires you firstly add a waypoint circuit script then with a waypoint progress tracker script followed. specifically, I made a four cubes, which you can make them invisible while animating then drag the cube into the target column for finding. It will animates around the connected circle. However the disadvantage is that, it only does the circle movement. The animation I hope for the flying ship is landing off vertically and fly away until it disappear. In additional, I will also use conventional way do animation what if the scripting method does not work well.
