I do not normally post things like this, but this is a dire need. This cat has been a stray cat as part of a feral colony outside of my family’s home for years. My family has fed, pet, loved on, been annoyed by, and taken care of this cat since we moved to this area. Recently Indiana and most of the Midwest was hit by a very large and rough snow storm. We decided to take Clarence (the cat) inside to keep him from suffering through -40 degree (with wind chill) weather, or worse. Unfortunately we have taken him to the veterinary clinic near our house to get his shots and such updated, and the veterinarian told us that in order to have any quality of live in or outdoors, Clarence will need surgery on his rear left hip joint.

At the moment Clarence walks with a noticeable limp and despite how thick he looks in the photo, he has clearly not been able to hunt the way that he used to, and has been getting beat up by stray dogs in the area. I am not including the most recent photo of Clarence, because he was attacked by another animal which caused him to lose vision in one of his eyes. He will need additional surgery to remove excess tissues from the front of his eye and possibly regain vision. The surgery that Clarence needs is an expensive one, and my family can afford about half of the ~$2700 procedure. My four year old brother has even offered to empty his piggy bank to help save Clarence. We cannot do this alone, but this cat needs help.
