just reading the OFF comic made me so effin sad I CANNOOOOTTT and it just made me realize that all of that came to whatever Vader said in The Room where youre too busy preparing for the party you forgot who it was for... HELLO??? THIS SO SAD WHAT DO YOU MEAN EVERYONE JUST FORGOT ABOUT HUGO AND HES BEEN LEFT THERE FOREVER??? and i thought that the entire new world was going to be a surprise for hugo but noooo

The impression I got is that the Queen deliberately erased the memories related to Hugo from anyone she was connected to (these memories being part of the "souvenirs" mentioned within the comic). The Guardians who got some of her power were definitely affected. They didn't merely forget. They were forced to not remember by the Queen's mysterious influence.

Oh my gosh thank you so much for bringing this up cause yhis was actually the same thing i was thinking about the first time i read it but i thoughg i was misunderstanding the last pages lol cuz i did not think that those memories can also be part of the "souvenirs". but now that i think about it, it can be possible that the Queen has powers of erasing memories... As it also wouldnt make sense as to how, specially for The Guardians, that they could just forget about Hugo like that especially for the fact that its a child they made a bond with and ESPECIALLY the fact that its somebody's child whom they have a huge connection with, which is the Queen, but it could also be because they have been corrupted/obsessed with the power of ruling over their zones (hence her line in The Room as i mentioned previously), and since that was so long ago as it looks like the comic took place where the world was still in ruins, way before it was remade, just as what was seen in The Room, where Japhet was still a young bird, before being swallowed by Valerie. Though, except for Pablo which could make sense because he has dementia (?) Im not too sure about one.

To the Off fan community in Japan

I'm still in disbelief about what happened in Shibuya and meeting so many of you. It felt like a dream. It was an incredible moment; I didn't expect so many of you to be there, or to be so invested in my game's universe. Thank you so much for that, but also for your kindness, and for your involvement. I'm also truly sorry to everyone who couldn't get a ticket. I hope to return to Japan someday and offer you another gathering, perhaps on a larger scale.

Thank you also so much for all your letters, illustrations, and handmade goodies. I took the time to read everything carefully, and I was very moved and happy to receive all these messages. I will treasure them forever.

OFF/Mortis Ghost tribute sketchbook drawings. Did these to commemorate replaying the game after a very long time. Last time was probably when it got popular during the Homestuck gigapause. Think of these as a drawthrough (drawing + playthrough) of the game. They are all in A5 with Nº2 graphite pencils and 0.5 and 0.05 archival ink pens, plus digital coloring through limited color palettes in Aseprite. Just as with the Yume Nikki post, I'd love to know: What's your favorite?

It’s been a bit, while I tried ways to tweak the boxes. The thing is with OFF it’s more uniform. Compare it to my other islands that have a bit more variety in block placements. The thing I could add on was a bit of the mall section (which I was unsure was more purple or blue) but I was very happy with how it turned out

Oh also here’s my entire island last image, as you can see not entirely OFF themed. I could try it on another save file, but I’m not dead set on it.

Don't cook me for this but is there even a point trying to assign morality to the batter? Like there's plenty of debate about whether destroying the world was the right choice, which is great, that's what the game is about, but it kinda loses meaning for me when that debate turns into whether the batter is evil or not. It's like debating whether a gun is evil for shooting someone. It's just doing what it was made for! The batter was cobbled together from a child's memory of their shitty dad and a comic book villain. He comes into the world obsessed with his mission, and it continues to be the center of his character throughout the game. I don't see him as enough of a person to be blamed (or praised, depending on your perspective) for his actions.

That's not to say the batter would have been incapable of changing (the rollercoaster bit shows he's able to want things that are unrelated to his mission + the queen neglecting Hugo after having been created specifically to care for him) but he only spends a couple hours alive, either getting killed by Pablo or going down with the world he's destroying. It's a lot to ask of someone to divert from the foundation of their existence in that time.
