Ali hadn’t seen her cousin since she’d told her that her and Kane were together. Lacey hadn’t exactly approved of the relationship, and now that the two of them were living together, Alison wasn’t sure she’d receive a warm welcome. Still, she missed Elena, so she figured she’d go visit. After knocking on the door she chewed her lip until the door opened. “Hey- I brought coffee.”

Lacey opened the door, not having expected Alison to be on the other side. “Hey.” She moved aside to let her inside, shrugging as she hurried back through to the living room towards Elena. “Thanks, that was nice of you.”

Last night I handcuffed Branson to a bed, threatened to castrate him with scissors, and then left him trapped in a hotel room. You went full Hard Candy on Branson and left him chained to a bed?! …Yeah. Is he still there? What the hell is that? …It’s the key to the handcuffs. I’m serious. Don’t judge me.

“Good. I was hoping you would say that. Think you can bring her by to see TJ?”

“Yeah, sure I can.”

“You’re welcome.” He smiled back at her in that moment. “I try my best.” Adam could sense there was something on her mind. Or maybe it was because they were spending a lot of time together. Hell it might have even been because he liked her for more than a friend. Her next statement threw him off. “What? No. That is just–it’s a bad idea and I feel like we need to stop it.” Kane was a piece of shit in his eyes and always would be.

Lacey bit her lip and sighed. “I know, I don’t know what to do -- it’s not like she’s going to listen to me.” Which was so like her at that age but also a part of what was worrying. Lacey didn’t trust Kane and she never would.

Maddy could hear her friends outside, and she was grateful for them honestly. She loved them to bits and pieces just like she loved her son. Hearing the knock on the door, she went over and answered it. “Hey!” She smiled big. Honestly she loved seeing them. Clive had excused himself for the day this way he wouldn’t interrupt their time together. He was so different from Ryan and she was blessed to have him. @dakotaxpike

Dakota smiled, moving inside with Lacey and giving Madeline a quick hug. “How’s it going?” She asked, knowing how hectic and tiring things could be with a new baby. “Where is the little cutie?”

Lacey followed Kota in, glancing around as she shut the door behind her. “On a scale on one to one hundred, how tired are you right now?” She joked, looking at Maddie.

“Just said she is all tucked in now.” Adam stated, moving to sit down next to Lacey. Something seemed to be on her mind. Maybe it was Trevor or maybe it was Alfie. “Everything okay?” He questioned, looking over at her for a moment. “Ya know, you can talk to me. I’m here.”

“Thanks..” She smiled at him softly. “You’re a lifesaver.” Lacey said, before she shrugged. Yes, there was a lot on her mind including Alfie but right now she was worrying about her cousin and Kane. “I know... it’s nothing really, or... it’s not my business really, but Ali’s.. started seeing Kane and I can’t help but have a bad feeling about it.” He’d probably understand her apprehension of Kane, right?

alison--hawthorne:

“What did he do to make you hate him so much?” Ali asked, chewing her lip. “A month or so… I just- I know how I feel.”

“Not my story to tell.” She shrugged, but Kane had acted like a pig for long enough for her to have a low opinion of him anyway, even before the shit with Dakota. God, hearing that though, it reminded her of herself - her old boy crazy self who would think she was in love after a week. “Just be careful, Ali.”

Lacey sighed, staring down at her fingernails as she picked her nail varnish. She was lost in thoughts and was just glad that Elena was sleeping. She almost didn’t even hear Adam walk back into the room, she was that absorbed in her nails, but she eventually lifted her gaze to him. “Hm? Sorry, did you say something?”

alison--hawthorne:

“So you can’t be happy for me? People can change Lacey… And I don’t want to lose you but- I think I love him…”

“Some people have run out of chances.” She shrugged. “Love? How long have you even been seeing him?”

alison--hawthorne:

“I made fun of his Christmas decorating, we connected, and now we’re together… I just- I really like him, Lacey… You’re the only family I care about, and I want you to be happy for me…”

“Well, all he’s ever done is disrespect and hurt people I really care about. Even people I don’t. So. I’m never gonna be okay with him. I’m sorry, Ali.”

“Really?” Manon asked, looking at the maze, “Well, I’ve never been fan of mazes anyways so I’m glad to have another reason not to do it.”

“Yeah, do not recommend.”

Ali chewed her lip. “That’s how I thought you’d react…”

“Ali...” She sighed. Kane had only proven himself to be trash. “How did this even happen?”

alison--hawthorne:

“Okay true.” Ali giggled before taking a deep breath. “It’s Kane Sharpe.”

Her smile did fall from her face though as she looked back at her cousin. “Oh... right.”

alison--hawthorne:

Ali laughed, shaking her head. “Well I can’t you his name, because it’s someone I know you won’t approve of, but what I can say is that he’s super sweet to me and he’s making me really happy, Lacey.”

“Um, rude, since when do I not approve of anything?!”

Ali laughed, nudging her cousin playfully. “What do you think? It’s a boy, obviously.”

“Uh, excuse me, what?! I need details!”
