Today marks two weeks since Wolfie came home barely weighing 11 ounces. This little guys was so stressed and needed encouragement to eat. He is now just shy of 2 pounds. I am happy to see his progress. Fostering this little guy has been fun so far. My newest foster kitty. Picked him up on Friday. He's a little tiny and under weight. Got to keep a close eye on him and make sure he eats well. The shelter kept noticing he was loosing weight. They said he wasn't eating well. Brought him home, gave him a good bath, and he's doing well with eating. He must have been stressed at the shelter. Poor little guy. All he needed was some peace and quiet, a bath along with some love and attention. My fostering Draco has come to an end. He was retured yesterday. We had some good times. It was beautiful seeing him come to trust me and be a playful kitten. Well, we definitely broke the ice. I have won him over little by little. He's looking more and more like a kitten. He's doing well with his meds, his bottom mouth injury is healing, eats well, no issues with the litter box, purrs now and he has begun playing. He has let his guard down and is welcoming all the snuggles. When I was spending time cuddling him trying to win him over, I would watch shows and he never paid any attention to them until I started to watch "Too Cute", an animal show and he simply loved it. He follows the screen and is focused on the kittens and puppies constantly being shown. When he hears them meow or bark he reacts and is responsive to it. It is adorable. Something about the show is soothing to him. I was told I could name him, but haven't yet. Waiting to see more of his personality. Guys.....I've been missing my furbies. It was an incredible experience raising them and giving them an opportunity of life and finding them forever homes. This made me look into becoming an actual foster at a shelter. My experience introduced me to programs I didn't know about. I signed up, applied and I am officially a foster parent at my local shelter. On Thursday I took in this little guy. He has an URI and an injury on the inside bottom gums. I'm giving him meds twice a day and eye ointment as well. He was so mellow when he was brought home. Gave him a good bath and got him settled in. He's a little shy but understandable. The first two pictures are his before and the one of him resting is after his bath and food. I'm suppose to care for him for 3 weeks. UPDATE 18 Well, I lucked out. The family that adopted a kitty yesterday came back for the other two siblings today. All three went to the same family. I am beyond happy that they were able to remain together and not be separated. They are great people, a great family and I know they will be taken care of. I know I can check in with them here and there. I am sad, it hurts to see mah babies leave, especially my little guy, the runt. I feel fulfilled in having have helped them survive. UPDATE 16 And then there were two. Its with both pleasure and great sadness to say a kitty has been adopted. A home has been found for the middle child. It went to a friend. I know he will be taken care of. I grew attached to these little ones. Going to miss him, but I am happy to have foster him and his siblings. UPDATE 12 Kitties are eating just fine on plates/bowls. Getting them to drink out of bowls has been tricky. They still want the nursing bottle. Today we had success on them using a bowl to drink. No nursing bottle used today. They are so freaken cute.
