Hi guys! I’m finally excited to be able to share my contribution to Ringling’s annual Meanwhile comic! Basically every year 16 students in Ringling’s illustration department are selected to make a two page comic and it’s all compiled and sent to print :) oh and we get to go to Megacon in Orlando!! See ya there :D
This was my first attempt at a comic and I decided to tell the story of a lonely vampire and his need for some high spf sun screen, all while finding love in the process <3
Creo que esta fue mi creación favorita, después de 'ERROR 404'. Creé un país para contar mis historias, y este país tiene su propia religión. El Grupo Operativo D.I.E. se creó tras un ataque a uno de los templos de esta religión, donde algunos se negaron a rendirse. Este Grupo Operativo se divide en dos equipos:
Equipo Abel: Rescate, investigación y desarrollo de equipo.
Equipo Caín: Exterminio y recaudación de fondos.

Antes de venir a la Tierra, Jack era una estrella, hija de Nyx como todos sus hermanos y hermanas. Creó constelaciones y nebulosas, pero siempre sintió curiosidad por los humanos. Por eso, decidió adoptar una forma más simple, menos humana, para poder integrarse en el planeta Tierra.
Longer analysis down below (if you're not a chronic overthinker, I'd highly not recommend this):
It cannot be a coincidence that not only does Gangle gets the lowest human rating in Ep 6 (from NPCs CAINE MADE) and that Caine likes the idea of Pomni and Gummigoo's relationship. Gangle was the one that stopped Pomni from further talking to Gummigoo in Ep 4 (which would lead to him gaining sentience again) so that Gangle could continue her adventure. Pomni WANTING to talk to Gummigoo rather than the other humans probably meant Caine also realized he might actually get to have some kind of friendship with the other humans. He has hope.
Also, I think it has been on his mind ever since Ep 2. In both scenes, when Gummigoo is falling and then flying with Pomni, they are travelling between teapots between the two worlds.
The only other time we see teapots before this scene is the objects flying above Pomni when she enters the circus, which are mostly objects foreshadowing to future events (flower pot being thrown at Jax in Ep 6, the teapot).
Now, look how many more teapots there are in the later episodes:
Ep 3 was more subtle, fitting the more realistic rendering of the episode (remember, anything with realism is tied to Kinger, like the baby head lamp in Ep 5 and his eyes) but there was a teapot in this scene where Ragatha was bonding with an NPC (of course maternal, 'cus she has mommy issues). Remember, from a writer's perspective, they decided to add this interaction, so everything is intentional.
Ep 4 ramps it up a bit, especially with the blue teapot, with it mostly being in Caine's office (I'd say this is connected as 'being on Caine's mind', so Pomni's relationship to Gummigoo is on his mind, just how he made Gummigoo pop up in the adventure). The adventure also ends with Pomni not bringing Gummigoo back to sentience, which is probably what glitched Caine out.
Ep 5 is where things really kick off. I think, due to Pomni not trying to bring Gummigoo back into sentience in Ep 4, Caine is questioning whether the players wouldn't make him sentient again either. So he makes Gummigoo a beverage that Pomni's 'thirsting for' and get the group together in a bar, both associated with socializing and beverages. And of course 'he's bored' because even though he was there, they didn't try to connect with him like he wanted them to.
Ep 6 didn't have such a strong theme, but Caine was enjoying a beverage by himself. He also drank water in Ep 2 after realizing NPCs can be confused for being humans. And, of course, the kettle, his idea of connecting to the humans, is struck with a bullet. This is the episode where he realizes they really don't need him to make them happy, since he doesn't know what they want (except not wanting him).
And in Ep 7, there is no teapot. He gives up. He tries one last time to get them to admit they care about him by staying in the circus and he fails.
(This will probably lead to nothing, but it's not like the signs aren't there)
