"Alignment" Star trek (aos movies!!) + gothic scifi + Khan (actually South Indian this time) being byronic antihero and villain - - One of the augments attempts to rescue Khan and the rest. Meanwhile there's a murder mystery on Starfleet ships and the Enterprise is sent to investigate. Ex-Section 31 -members start to go missing and are found brutally murdered. Suddenly Jim is racing against time.

The series involves varying topics such as: trauma, absolute power corrupting absolutely, vengeance/forgiveness, the cost of science and knowledge, insanity and madness, risk-addiction and the allure of omnipotency, along with the themes of love and trust and even cooperation.

After finding out that the black box Simon managed to save is too badly irradiated to get any kind of information out of, Ava has to send yet another convict down, to make sure that Simon did not die for nothing. Down below a God lies waiting. This is a dissection of what the fear does to the mind. Desperation, resilience, cruelty, kindness, despair and hope are all found here. This is a tragedy and it ends tragically. I attempted treating Ava as human as Simon, painting them both with terrible mistakes and attempts at fortitude.

progress update on "allow me to live and i'll be anything you want" ch2 out! Medical mishandling of Simon, Ava overrun with guilt and academic curiosity angst and a tiny flicker of hope

Ch. 3 of "allow me to live.." out! Flashbacks, gruesome fates, empathetic instincts and Simon being a wreck (this is turning into a rather gothic fix-it indeed) - i promise they bang again at some point but the horrors have to be described for 10k words first!!

Ch. 4 out. Simon is finally out of medbay but not out of danger. A very tense discussion between him and Ava (leading to "things" in ch. 5)

Ch 5 out. The said "spicy things". Ava and simon discuss (continuation). Things escalate and the Simon's demons peek out. (Yes who could've predicted that Simon is even more unstable post-canon than before??)

Ch 6 out. De-escalation and tumbling onto chaos. Ava makes plans and has an impossible choice to make. Simon realizes his situation.

Ch 7 (of nine) out. A hope. Ava's choices. A certain pedant that takes the brute force of the emotional damage dealt this time. Por favor ~

Next time: Simon/David fling stuff, perhaps even some residual fluff to cheer our miserable man a little, more choices

Claudia felt, knew that something had just materialized out of nowhere. Something stood behind her. She thought of the picture she’d thought with the last plea. A stone statue of great age. It portrayed a lady sitting down in an old Egyptian headdress and a white-painted dress. In the base it said:

Queen Akasha, first of her name, Protector of the realm and all of its inhabitants.

Suddenly there was the flicker of hope that fought against the overpowering fear and began to win. Claudia saw how the man had stopped. He stared, the fire down there dying down to unease. He stared. He could do nothing else but stare.
