I’m so sorry to see that an amazing female character as Lara Croft (I mean: the real one) has been so disempowered and made less appealing (both physically and mentally) in order to make her look like a normal whiny girl with serious personality disorders. She once was FANTASTIC and iconic, now she’s just a random, bland, video game character. Of course I blame Eidos Interactive, Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montréal for destroying her, but most of the guilt belongs to many Tomb Raider fans, who not only fiercely allowed this mess, but now regret it when it’s too late to complain. Such a shame. I can’t believe that characters like Dante (Devil May Cry), Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot were saved from this “reboot” trend thanks to their strong fandom. Sometimes, it feels like we don’t deserve a decent Lara Croft. I do. I didn’t deserve this “reboot thing” at all. To me, she was one of the most important characters ever and now she’s gone because her fandom didn’t have the guts to oppose this reboot. I tried my best over the years, but I only gained insults and slanders. Such a shame. I always try not to think about this, because it’s utterly frustrating.
