Hello~ MCB fandom on Tumblr, it's me again! I'm working on some Q&A translations for you. please forgive any missing details or awkward phrasing:
Blaion & Flame Nova: since Blaion is a firetruck type Cardbot, he's actually capable of spraying water just like Phoenix Fire. However, because that doesn't fit his personality, he sticks to blasting flames instead. The same applies to Flame Nova.
Mega Ambler: the secret behind his combat strength is that he used to serve on the front lines alongside the Star Guardians as an official medical officer. Given his high ranking background, the fact that he's currently called an "unlicensed doctor" suggests his license expired after he quit (likely following the Bloodwing Incident). According to post episode w lore, Mega Ambler left the Star Guardians after Bloodwing went missing to train new cadets as a doctor. However, his teaching methods were so rushed and sloppy that he was ousted and had his license revoked. Safe to say, teaching is definitely not his strong suit.
Fleta Z: according to an unofficial X space held on July 15, it was revealed that Fleta Z was infected with the Beast Virus by Night Griffon.
Buster Gallon & Black Hook (actual lines in episode 18): during Q&A, Director Oh revealed what they were actually saying:
Buster gallon: growing, distributing, marketing... running a business really takes a lot of work.. 재배, 유통, 마게팅... 장사 할려면 할일이 많군요...
Black hook: out of all the colors, black is the coolest... so why am I blue...? 컬러중에 컬러는 블랙이지, 근데 왜 나는 블루...
Heavy Iron's arc: according to the director's Q&A, Heavy Iron was originally meant to stay a villain and return to space at the end of Metal Cardbot Season 1. However, higher ups asked for a plot shift so he would reform and become Jun's friend instead. This decision turned out to be a game changer, Heavy Iron's popularity skyrocketed, making him one of the absolute fan favorites in W.
Heavy Iron's power control: some fans speculated based on Heavy Iron’s line in Episode 20 about still learning to control his power that he couldn't suppress the beast virus right after being infected, which is why he attacked Jun's group at full force. Shocked by his own strength, he started trying to rein it in. The director actually confirmed in a Q&A that when Heavy Iron fired his Heavy dragon breath, he was just trying to warn them to get out of the way, the attack was simply way stronger than he anticipated.
Ignyx's resurrection lore: according to behind the scenes info from the director's Q&A, Ignyx was originally planned to make entrance following the death of a main character, fitting its mythical beast concept.
The first idea was for episode 18, where Blue Cop would actually die from Savannard’s final axe blow, only to be resurrected by Ignyx.
The second concept involved Heavy Iron W getting lethally wounded by Tyrant Zero. He would leave his final words to Tachy before dying, and Tachy's tears of grief would trigger Heavy Iron's revival alongside Ignyx's arrival.
Solidhorn's early name: according to the developer Q&A, Solidhorn's draft name during development was "라이노포저" (Rhinodozer? Rhinoposer?? still checking for the exact english name, will update later).
Bloodwing's history: although Bloodwing was initially assumed to be a former Star Guardian alongside Mega Ambler, the director clarified during an X space that the two merely served in a medical unit under the Star Guardians 13th division, rather than being official members themselves. Also, claims that Bloodwing was conceived as an upgraded version of Mega Ambler turned out to be a misconception. A toy designer revealed on X that he was designed as an entirely distinct character from day one. Someone did suggest turning him into Mega Ambler's upgrade after his design was finished, but the idea was rejected.
How Savannard survived: when Heavy Iron fires his heavy dragon breath at point blank range, it obliterates all three spirits, breaks the weapon card transformation, and causes savannard to collapse. As for how Savannard survived taking a max power Heavy Dragon Breath point blank? A developer explained in a Q&A that the three vengeful spirits possessing Savannard wrapped around him like armor, absorbing the brunt of the attack and disintegrating in his place narrowly saving his life.
Savannard’s draft name: according to developer commentary, Savannard was originally going to be named "Tri Specter" (트라이 스펙터), which later got repurposed as the name of his ultimate attack.
Tyrant Zero's original draft: director Q&A info revealed that Tyrant Zero was originally planned to commit his evil deeds out of his own free will rather than being possessed by Dividragon and on a much larger scale. However, this was scrapped because the tone was far too dark, on top of production and implementation challenges. Among the scrapped plans, the final battle was originally set to take place in Mowtown instead of Porcaca. Ideas included infecting humans with the beast virus to turn them into zombie like creatures and hacking Mowtown's infrastructure to plunge the city into chaos, leaving the Cardbots to step in and restore order.
Tyrant Zero's design& lore speculation: unlike typical Beast Virus victims, Tyrant Zero’s eyes actually feature the distinct outline unique to Wild Cardbots. Since his appearance matches both the descriptions in Monohorn legends and the statues in the Tyrant Temple, it seems he’s remained in this form for a very long time. As revealed in episode 26, much like Savannard, he's a case of someone who embraced wild power and completely merged with it. However, during a fan Q&A, the director revealed that production behind the scenes was pretty messy to the point where even the staff didn't fully know how the story was going to unfold. Because of this, it's very possible he was originally intended to be a true Wild Cardbot before production plans changed. Since this was never directly confirmed during the Q&A, it leaves plenty of room for fan theories.
Do yall think Blue Cop has a kill count? Like, it sounds obvious now, he fought in a war of course he would have killed people. But I don't think it ever really connected in my brain.
Dude fml I saw a bigass type 1 fire truck in my town while driving and tell me why I unironically said to myself “HOLY FUCK BLAION” bro I’m gonna go watch Gundam rn fuck my life
Nova as Jun's second in command (the fancy titles are just to get the firetruck to cooperate). Driving the kid to everywhere he needs to go and keeping a lookout. This time when the Cardbots gather around; they won't be overthrowing a police car like always.
Nova stood his ground; usually in his spam (firetruck) mode. Crashing into everyone who he finds deserving (everyone does). He makes sure everyone listens what Jun has to say, purely because it's necessary in the long run. "ARE YOU LISTENING OR NOT?!?!" Absolute silence.
Jun and Nova exchange their stories about BC. But Nova rarely shares anything even if he knows BC like the back of his hand; his dreams, his preferences, his doubts, everything. Jun on the other hand; could only share their experiences together. From their encounters with other Cardbots or teaching BC about human culture.
"Did you know that Blue Cop _____?" Jun excitedly mentioned; comfortable enough to share something personal with the criminal himself.
"... I'm aware." Nova huffed. Seemingly uninterested in Jun's attempts to start a meaningful conversation. He knows better.
Instead of encouragement and tender care; Jun received rather harsh and cold calls to reality. While Nova actively protects him, he makes sure to make the kid aware how much of a fool he is. Regularly scolding on his idiocy even if he'd rather be quiet. He's gotten soft. And he despises it.
Bonus; The Cardbots love a good fight, and Nova gladly gives in by demolishing them each one. "Not a single one of you can protect him" ; casually dunks Black Hook to eat sand. He's throwing hands with everyone not because he's itching for violence, he's doing it to get over his quiet grief.
"You don't know him like I do. And you never will." Nova once said to Jun; never repeated himself.
Been busy gaming time to return to drawing
Mega Ambler, Phoenix Fire and Bloodwing from Metal Cardbot are gay and polyamorous!

Spoiler for season 3 ep 25
Holy shit.
HOLY SHIT.
HOLY SHIT.
I just realized that the backstory of planet machina or machina crime WAS ACTUALLY OVERSHADOW back in season 1 episode 25, and it's the form of STAR CROWN.
Basically the use of star crown is that to make a copy based of machina planet. And where does machina planet came from???
YEP THAT'S RIGHT. MACHINA TURN A PLANET THAT WAS LIVED WITH ALOT OF WILD LIVE INTO A PLANET OF STEEL. MACHINA FUCKING COLONIZED A PLANET.
Basically what I'm trying to say is that star crown has the same stuff going on with whatever that pillar was doing.
HOLY FUCK DUDE....
op says we can repost
honestly i think people should describe women as "handsome" more often.
I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with relating to characters, “they’re literally me” etc but if that’s the only way you engage with stories you’re kinda missing the whole point of Characters being vehicles through which we can see perspectives outside of our own. and also you’re going to get upset when the Character acts in a way that is not Personally Relatable to You
i agree so much about making your blorbos pathetic but i do fear that many take this to mean 'make them more traditionally feminine/submissive' which genuinely hurts my soul. make your blorbos pathetic in interesting character-oriented ways. understand their neuroses and turn the dials up to eleven. juxtapose the parts of life they handle extremely well with the parts of their lives that make them eat shit. make them angry. make them cold. make them pave their own way to hell while building walls preventing them from seeing any other way. please i'm begging you no more pathetic as an euphemism for bottoming im gonna mclose it.
