greetings, earthlings, and welcome to some badly written intros from your local trash bin, l. quick disclaimer that i’m slow at responding to messages but i’ll get there, god bless. anyways, here’s the sitch.
full name: jack mullins
birthday: march 17th
zodiac: pisces
hometown: london, england
occupation: bartender @ o’connells
keep him away from karaoke when he’s drunk. it’s bad.
his guilty pleasure is taylor swift. i know, i know, she’s a problematic fave but like he doesn’t know what happened in the past couple of years but she got mature and hot and he’s here for it. plus he likes the idea of living rent free in someone’s mind and having all those songs written about him. let him fantasize in peace.
he has a puppy named beauregard, beau for short, a mixed breed he adopted from a local shelter. beau is his child and yes he will bring him to work.
loves cornbread? like he’s obsessed with it? idk.
jack mullins is really a boring dude, kinda. he was born and raised in jolly ol’ london town and let me tell you when his little bro james was born he was mad as hell bc all the attention got taken away from him. he got over it... eventually.
anyway, jack grew up with a butcher as a father and his mother worked at one of the local banks. he’d always had an interest in foods and when he reached his teen years alcohol came into the picture. but it was more like, what foods can i make taste good with alcohol you feel? so this man decided he was gonna be a chef of sorts.
it was while he was nearing the end of his culinary studies did mister blondie here fall head over heels with a little ol’ gal from the u.s. with a darling southern accent. he just couldn’t get enough of her, honestly. the demon was ready to propose like a week in to the relationship. but he held off. he proposed like three weeks later as if that’s any better. his plan was to move back to louisiana with his fiance and get a job working somewhere locally in hopes of saving up enough money to open his food truck in new orleans. god save the cuisine. who wouldn’t wanna stop and get some grub from his truck with that name okay.
long story short, the engagement didn’t work out. jack’s still living in lakeview working as a bartender at o’connells and his dreams of love are dead. who needs a relationship when you have a job and a pup to go home to. he’s still thinking about opening up that food truck. he’s got enough money in savings to do it, but who knows what’s really holding him back.
full name: emira bata
birthday: august 29th
zodiac: virgo
hometown: lakeview, louisiana
occupation: cashier @ her family’s business
if you looked up the definition of a nerd you’d see emira’s pic next to it.
this girl is thirty years old and obsessed with star wars and all things nerdalicious. her fam says this is why she’s never had a relationship and is still a virgin. maybe so.
she’s bisexual. it’s a secret, but not really.
she loves dying her hair crazy cool colors and wearing it in space buns. she takes suggestions for colors/styles in the tip jar at the store.
she’s socially awkward? gets her words and sentences jumbled up? “hi you are today how?” facepalm.
talk nerdy to her.
emira is a special girl. the baby of the bata’s, she’s a little bit of a free spirit but honestly not really because she cares too much about what other people think of her. her perfectionism started when she was a toddler when she would color code her socks fresh from the laundry. you okay girl?
her childhood was fairly normal and she never really had any dreams or ideas or goals of what she wanted to do with her life. she always kinda lived in a fantasy world, daydreaming of this and that and tbh she probs wrote fanfiction online. she just kinda always thought things would fall into her place for her when she because an “adult” but lmao she was wrong.
she never dated, never knew how to talk to anyone. didn’t even go to college because she was TOO ANXIOUS. she’s just always worked at her family’s shop and she’s kinda happy with it? it’s... like her backbone and rock. it’s always gonna be there for her and it’s safe. she ain’t gonna mess it up. she’s really just a hot mess?
anyways friends i need to hop off and do some adult things but hopefully i shall be back on later for plotting pls smash that heart (cringe) if you love animals and want to plot with someone who is yikes. peace. @30extra
celeste smoothed down her skirt for probably the tenth time in as many minutes, her fingers tapping against her glass as she wandered around the newly renovated lookout. it’s not that she didn’t want to be there, but even at thirty one, practically running the family business she still felt as awkward at events like this as when her sister used to drag her along when they were younger. smiling as she made eye contact with one of the other guests, feeling like she now had to make some form of conversation. “can you believe how incredible this is, you’d barely recognise it from how it used to look.”
"would it be rude if i said i prefer the old look instead?” jack grinned before taking in the sights of the room once more. “but i suppose it’ll grow on me, as most things do,” he nodded with a sip of his beer. he could tell that the blonde was anxious judging by her body language alone, so he decided to lighten the mood up a bit. “you know, it’d be a crying shame if they don’t break out a karaoke machine in the next hour or so. the residents of lakeview sorely need my talent,” he joked.
To say Jo was excited would be an understatement, she was hyped up for the launch of the renovated Lookout. It looked great in her opinion, better than great maybe, and she couldn’t wait for the rest of her hometown to enjoy the place. The weather was actually looking nice for the launch, meaning that the guests could enjoy both outside and in depending on what they fancied. Lights twinkling against the beautiful waterfront backdrop, all of it just made Jo practically tingle with excitement.
As for what Jo was doing, she was mingling with everyone and checking in with folks, when she wasn’t in the kitchen helping out the staff. After finishing a few dishes in the back, the near bouncing blonde made her way out into the restaurant to the front door, greeting the newest person who walked in. “Hey welcome in to the Lookout! Can I get you anything?” She asked warmly, smile showing a more calmer demeanor than the excitement she was feeling.
emira smiled sheepishly, a small blush painting on her cheeks. “okay, this is gonna sound really weird but do you guys have outlets here for charging your phones now? you know, just in case my portable charger dies or something. and so i can people watch from a corner of the room while i enjoy some finger foods.”
where? the lookout
who? open to anyone @30extra
when? whenever wherever, we’re meant to be together
It was an exciting night for the town, everyone’s favorite Lookout open and back in business. For owners, it was an exhausting night as well, no doubt. At some point in the evening, Eloise slipped behind the bar counter– either to escape some unwanted company or to keep herself busy, the silver-haired woman couldn’t be certain, but the bartenders could use her help and Jo would appreciate it as well. Standing behind the counter allowed Eloise a new perspective (not to mention no one was in her personal space anymore), so she easily noticed one of the patrons of the bar making eyes at the person whose order Eloise was just about to take. “I think they like you,” a smirk lifted the corner of her lips as she glanced at the poor enamored soul. “I’m afraid I’m going to have to steal you for a moment, though… What’s your poison?”
lifting a brow, jack glanced over to the person eloise was eluding to. “oh no, i think they’re just wondering i’m not behind the bar instead,” he turned back eloise with a smile. “gotta say, it’s a little weird being on this side of the bar and getting served, but i’ll try my best to enjoy it. a heineken will do... for now, at least.”
“everybody was going, so why not you too ?” the thought sat in her mind now that she was actually at the destination in particular. she was never used to small towns even after three years of being in one. the lookout’s renovation looked wonderful , but it was no different from anything she’d find in the big city. she felt the charm of lakeview being ripped away but it wasn’t her place to do anything about it. selina was outside the night air crisp against her tanned skin. her phone was the only thing keeping her company and upon looking down at it for the umpteenth time she realized it was running on fumes. she turned to the nearest person beside her, ❝ excuse me, do you have a portable charger by chance ? my phone’s about to k.o. ❞ she waved her phone in their direction showing them the pitch black screen with a low battery warning. ❝ i’ll repay you with a drink ? or a sandwich maybe ? ❞ she watched a waiter speed past them with a tray filled with food. ❝ whatever they have looks ah-ma-zing. ❞ she almost sang.
* 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ↷ the lookout !
* 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀 ↷ open to anyone ! ( @30extra )
“never leave home without it,” emira chirped in response. “my cell is like my lifeline when it comes to stuff like this.” she dug the item out from her satchel and handed it to the girl. “hope it fits. as for whatever it is they’re serving? it looks good but smells horrendous. i’m pretty sure they wouldn’t even serve this stuff in a galaxy far, far away,” she joked, laughing awkwardly. “i’ll take you up on that sandwich.”
