Greetings, this is @kou-katsu’s sideblog for the web series “Ode to Epilogue/Prologue”. I will primarily post my fanwork here but occasionally I may reblog other’s fanworks.

“What is Ode to Epilogue/Prologue?”

OTEP (short for Ode to Epilogue/Prologue) is a multi-media web series created by LitchiKitti on Youtube. The story told through PMVs, mini-comics, and short writings. It primarily focuses on how our relationships change us and never ending cycles of trauma. This is a heavy simplification of the story and I encourage you to check it out for yoursel.

“So where should I start?”

Firstly, you should start with watching the videos from release order. I think this is a commonly agreed upon approach in the community. Then you should read the mini comics as they fill in gaps that the videos don’t cover (yet!). Then you can read the writings which go into how or why the characters do their things.

There is also an official release order that’s more specific but the one I provided is the one I followed loosely

The story is a bit confusing at first, I’ve heard a ton of people being confused watching the videos and I was one of these people! This is where the wikis come in! They are a helpful tool to understand each character’s part of the story! The writings are also helpful but that is a Discord exclusive as of now.

Schism has hEDS, a connective tissue disorder, which is shown in this comic by his joint hypermobility and pain. The flare up and subsequent subluxation he faced during his abandonment is what prevented him from following his family and one of the reasons Laburnum encourage Karela to leave him behind.

It plays a large part in his character, as he craves independence and true respect, rather than pity, but views himself as a burden on others, contributing to his tendency to withdraw away from them, alongside his BPD.

Wanderer Redesigns

Karela is one of Schism's mother. She was ditched by her girlfriend, Corax, whilst pregnant with his child. She suffered from PPD, which made it hard for her to bond with Schism, especially with her sister constantly telling her to just get rid of him. She ended up doing so, when they were confronted by some Animals while his joint hypermobility was flaring up, rather than putting herself at risk to save him. She felt deep remorse for this and left her sister in search of her son.

Laburnum is Karela's sister. She believes she's in the right and doing the right thing by everyone (she's not) and was furious when she found out that Karela had left without a word.

One of the most prominent characters on the OTP side: Schism. He's the protector of The Sanctuary (also a hint of Weasel in there)

Heron, Halcyon and Kyanite all play a somewhat large role within the Sanctuary story line
