very cool! finally got anthro-aura-farming me!! yippee!
hehe finally got one of these map things
thanks to @yeetmoretbr and @hansdobermitzeladmirer for helping with parts of this.
bringing this to the attention of @ecfluorineotegov, @vitaegodofwhatis and @ecmorsote (i know you know about this already but just putting it forwards)
if it’s an incoherent mess that’s because it is. some have multiple statuses, but not all statuses are included. uhh this is more or less up to date, just don’t ask about mors and vitae (or caesium (i can explain, but please don’t make me)). technically you’ve already seen them both i think but eh.
as stated on the bottom this is for the most important instance, not necessarily the prime instance as the prime instance may have not appeared yet.
flag id: two flags in the same format. at the bottom edge of the flag is a dark green silhouette of blades of grass, which is outlined with green. the flag has 6 vertical stripes which curve slightly towards the top left of the flag. from left to right, they are dark brown, dark red, medium dark orange, yellow-orange, tan, and cream. in the center of the left flag is the agricroptera symbol, which is a dark red apple inside of a green corn husk. the symbol is tilted about 30 degrees to the left, the whole thing is outlined with tan, and the apple has a cream shine. end id.
banner id: a 1600x200 teal banner with the words ‘please read my dni before interacting. those on my / dni may still use my terms, so do not recoin them.’ in large white text in the center. the text takes up two lines, split at the slash. end id.
agricroptera: a neogender umbrella for terms related to food crops, edible plants, and the process of growing/acquiring these plants
[pt: agricroptera: a neogender umbrella for terms related to food crops, edible plants, and the process of growing/acquiring these plants. end pt]
concepts potentially included under agricroptera:
fruit, vegetables, grains, herbs/spices, etc.
farms intended mainly for growing food, such as orchards, wheat fields, rice paddies, etc.
foraging for edible plants
tilling fields, harvesting crops, etc.
foods made with fresh-grown food, especially more 'traditional' foods (such as fruit pies, bread, vegetable soups, etc.)
and anything else related to food crops/edible plants/farms/etc.!
derived terms:
frux, fruxen: an agricroptera person (latin for 'produce'/'crop'/'fruit')
wyrt, wyrts: an older agricroptera person (old english for 'plant'/'vegetable'/'herb')
ote, otae: a younger agricroptera person (middle english for 'oat')
agriplant: an agricroptera gender ('agriculture' + 'plant')
acrin: agricroptera-in-nature
cropterine: having agricroptera qualities (equivalent of masculine/feminine). noun form is cropterinity
croplantic: agricroptera gender alignment ('crop' + 'plant' + ic)
transcropterine, transcrop: transitioning towards cropterinity
the term is 'agri' from 'agriculture', 'crop', + 'tera' from 'plantera' (swedish for 'to plant').
the flag is meant to look like a field of tall plants, like wheat, swaying in the wind. the grass is from cattails from this folder.. the symbol is apple (23) inside the husk of corn (1) from the same folder. here's the symbol by itself:
[image id: two images of the agricroptera symbol, which is a dark red apple inside of a green corn husk. the symbol is tilted about 30 degrees to the left. in the left image, the symbol is outlined in tan and the apple's shine is filled in with cream; in the right image, it is not outlined and the shine is not filled. an image is placed between the two to make them take up less space on the screen. end id.]
and here's the template for those who want to coin agriplants!

...This is awkward. Hi guys! You may have ntoiced the date and realized that uh. 2025 is like. Over. I come bearing good news and bad news. I'll start with the bad:
The release is getting delayed to 2026. I know, that's like, two years after the first fic was published, but listen. Ode to the Estranged is 26 chapters long. And though these chapters are shorter (3k-5k on average), that's a lot of fuckin chapters! Writing 26 chapters takes a lot more time than writing 4. It requires a lot more thought in pacing, plot, and other garbage. This year has sucked absolute balls for my personal life, and I have been getting sick on and off constantly. I'm back at it again with another possible kidney infection, which is just. So great.
Now, the good news: THIS PROJECT IS NOT CANCELLED! We are over halfway to the finish line, and I am fighting for my life with it! My beta readers and I have worked hard, and hopefully, it will be done in the first half of 2026. I'm hoping, anyway, considering I am moving across the country at the halfway point lol. Which brings me to a question for the five WHTS fans left; how would you like to have the chapters released?
What do you think?
On a schedule: write the entire fic before publishing
Chapter by Chapter now: Publish fic, then release chapters as seen fit
There are pros and cons to both options, and originally I was going to go with the on a schedule option, but I figured I'd open up the floor to you guys. I can't promise I'll do it, but I'd like to hear your opinions first. This project has been a labour of love for almost two years, and I'd like to wrap it up sooner rather than later lol, and I think maybe posting chapter by chapter may help with that. But! Let me hear your thoughts.
TLDR this project isn't cancelled, sorry for the radio silence, more OTE and WHTS content coming soon
