I cut my hair…. I did not intend for it to be so short. I posted these photos on Facebook, and after mostly negative comments, I took them down. I’m dealing with a solid sense of depression spawned by the major loss of my hair, and the mean comments from family members… I’ve come to terms and discovered a strange beauty in these images. I see myself as beautiful, maybe partially because I am rebellious and was repeatedly told it was unflattering because I’m fat. The haircut was initially a mistake, but I’m gonna embrace it as a symbol/catalyst for change. I’ve already found myself feeling freer to speak up for myself. And not just stand back and let folks kick the crap out of me verbally.
