some quick notes while i'm thinking about layla:
-> gender = ???, will go with whatever pronouns anyone uses, typically she/her, although they don't feel very feminine. or masculine. they do eventually find they/them forms of address & tend to use that for themselves, but do not insist on others using it.
-> sexuality also ??? – bi/panromantic, initially believe they're asexual (although they don't have the terms for it, & see it as another way they're broken), realise later they're very demi
-> knows, somehow, that she's half drow, not that it seems to matter to anyone they encounter. they do not know the other half.
-> personality is very cagey because they're trying to keep the urge close to the chest ( although a few things do make it harder to hide & potentially give up the game quickly, see below ) but are surprisingly laid back – they know that they can handle whatever comes, so they tend not to shy away from investigating or a fight in general
-> poked a hole in us by picturing a brain as ruined as their own, so when it came time to gale sticking his hand out, they thought there's no harm in fantasizing for a second. so, uhhhh, no gale for her (gn)
( obviously for rp, someone could have intervened &/or when gale is calling them a lunatic, layla can snap out of it & retrieve him with a bloodied arm )
( otherwise, this is the moment they realise they need to actually resist those urges / they aren't harmless )
-> her mother is sendai from bg2 & she was conceived prior to the time of troubles, when the main directive was to have more bhaalspawn. later, when the five decided to take out the others, layla's on their mother's list, but gorion's ward takes care of sendai first
because of this parentage, their 'favoured foe' are mages & layla has a lot of muscle memory for going after casters. magic was a big part of their training.
-> layla's somewhere under 200
