Here is a sneak peek from the Launch story boards!
What are those weird round bits and metal things? Honestly I don’t quite know, but our cinematographer Zach Kuperstein does!
We are using a unique lighting system on our set, instead of traditional film lights we are using LED strips. The strips are controlled through a DMX system, so basically we can control their color & brightness through a computer (which is super awesome).
We will be able to imbed these LED strips right into the pod, like the picture above! It’s one step closer to realizing our vision of what a planetary relocation pod looks like.
We are happy to announce Sam Eidson as our newest addition to the Launch cast!
Poster design by the talented Mark Elliot Dusk.

Here are some of our space passenger concept art! Created by Kathryn Nicholas & Mark Elliot Dusk.
We've been busy working on designing the low-tech space suit used for consumer based space travel. It's always super exciting to see ideas sprouting to life on the page!
Coffee and filmmaking go hand in hand! Refining visual elements with Launch's production designer Olivia Pepper.
Introducing the Director of Photography for Launch, Zach Kuperstein!
He is both a talented cinematographer and a dear old friend which is a great combination when it comes to making films.
We've been very busy planning, plotting, designing and developing our own world for Launch. I wanted to share a concept sheet for our space suit patches for 'Theta: planetary relocation corporation'.
Designed by our very talented Graphics Director, Mark Elliot Dusk.
After we finalize our designs we will have embroidered patches available during our Kick Starter campaign!
Stay tuned for more progress!
As a director one of my tasks is describing visual things that don't exist. Sometimes words can fall short, that's why I use 'look books' to support ideas, describe components and explore tangible examples.
The pages above are for general film references, lighting for the 'red light' sequence and spacial references for the pod.
There is way more where these came from, helping describe anything from costumes, set design, all the way to cinematography, graphic typography and much much more!
Here is a sneak peek of ‘The Unified Codex’ a globalized written language developed just for Launch! The Unified Codex was conceived & developed by the very talented production designer Olivia Pepper. Typography designed by graphics director Mark Elliot Dusk!
Keep your eyes peeled more to come!
Co-Producer James Ashton, working on the Launch web presence. An important and underrated job when making a film!
