The Last One

I cannot believe this semester is almost over! It seems like just yesterday I moved back to Boone and started all of my classes. I do have to say though that I am so glad it's coming to an end. I need a break! I have been so stressed this semester from all of my classes and assignments and I have been waiting for this break from the beginning! I'm more than ready to be home with my family for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I get so homesick sometimes when I'm here and all I want to do is go home. I am a little sad though because after this I'll only have two more semesters. It seems like these few years have flown by and it just keeps going. I hope I can make it through this next little bit. It makes me so nervous to think about grad school applications and all of that fun stuff. But I know everything will work out for the best and I will make it through. I am so excited about becoming an SLP and I cannot wait until I finally have that opportunity. But for now I'm going to go home and finish these last few assignments before exam week so I can enjoy my nice, long awaited break!

Let it Snow

I'm so excited about the snow. Even though I'm not too fond of driving in it, I think it's about time we get some. I hate when it's warm around this time. It doesn't feel like the holidays if it's not cold and snowy. This weekend I'm going with my family up to White Top mountain to get our Christmas tree. There is usually a lot of snow up there and it's so much fun. We do it every year but the past couple ones it's been warm and didn't feel like we should be getting our tree. So I'm excited about this year!

Little Cousins

Yesterday I got to pick my little cousin up from school and spend the rest of the day with him. We are big buddies and I love getting to do that. He is working on a project for school so we went to the store and bought him some materials for it. After that we went to get him a snack before we picked my other cousin up at school. We took him home to meet his friend and then came back to my room to eat and watch tv. It was a really good day and I'm so glad I got to spend it with him!

It's almost Thanksgiving break!

I came home this weekend because we had to go to a friends wedding. The wedding was a couple hours away so I just decided to stay home all weekend instead of trying to get back Saturday. But since I'm home it's making it even harder to go back to school. Most of my classes have been cancelled but I still have a couple I need to come back for. Some of my family has already gotten here for Thanksgiving and of course I have to go back to school. Oh well, only a couple of more days! I am more than ready for a break!

Panthers Game

Last night I went to the Panthers game with my boyfriend and his family. I had never been to one before and it was so much fun but soooo cold. We left Boone in the early afternoon so we could go tailgate and then we walked around the city for a little while before the game started. We had pretty good seats so we were excited about that but the wind was awful in the stadium. I took warm clothes because I thought it would be cold but I still froze the whole time! Then we went to find some hot chocolate and they were out! Oh well, at least it ended up being a really good game!

Thanksgiving Break

I just want this week to be over with so I can go home for Thanksgiving. It seems like I have so much to do before then and it's so stressful. I'm trying to finish up as much as I can though because I know I'll be so mad if I don't and then have to work on it over break. It's so hard to believe after Thanksgiving it'll pretty much almost be Christmas break. I'm so ready! And I'm so ready for this semester to end. I just keep telling myself only a few more days. Hopefully this week will go by fast!

Christmas Tree

My roommate and I decided we needed a little tree in our room this year. I have a tree that the lady I babysit for made me. It's sitting in an ASU pot and has yellow ribbon, colored lights, and ASU ornaments all over it. So I was going to bring it but wasn't excited about carrying it back and forth. But I was in Target the other day and I saw a tiny little Christmas tree for only a few dollars. You could also buy these little ornaments to go on it. So I bought some of the glittery ones and figured we could put that one in our room. We're not even there around Christmas so we usually don't do anything as far as decorating but we figured it'd be fun this year. Plus it's really cute and was really cheap!

So Lazy

I'm feeling so lazy this week for some reason which isn't good because I have stuff I need to do. Last week was a really busy week for me so I guess since I have that behind me I feel like I can take a little break. I don't have as much to do this week but my goal is to finish as much as I can so I'll have a little less work to worry about over Thanksgiving break. However I still just want to lay in bed all day and watch movies, especially with this weather!

Movie Night

Tonight I went to see the movie Captain Phillips. Before I went I wasn't really sure what to expect, but as the movie began to progress I started to realize how intense it was probably going to be. I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it, because it is a great movie that I would recommend. However, I usually have to prepare myself and be in the mood for movies such as that one, and I didn't have the chance to do that. But it really was good and the events that take place are unbelievable. Also the fact that it is a true story just makes it so much more interesting and amazing to me. Even though I was unsure and still am somewhat, I really did enjoy it.

My Soldier

Since today is Veteran's Day I thought I would write about my boyfriend and all we've experienced the past year. He is in the army and found out he would be deploying last summer. I definitely wasn't prepared for something like that and it was probably one of the hardest things I've had to go through.

I did get to talk to him pretty often and we got to Skype which was good. Regardless of how much we talked it still seemed like he would never get home. But finally Spring came and I knew it would be soon, even though he kept telling me he didn't know the day for sure. I kept waiting and he kept telling me he didn't know. Finally one day he told me a date. So when it got close to the weekend he was supposed to be coming home I got a text from his mom. She told me we needed to get dinner and plan what we were going to do for him. Well, I didn't think anything of it for some reason. So I met his parents for dinner that night and we sat down and ordered. My back was facing the door, and all of the sudden someone walked up to me and touched me on the back. It was him! He had come to surprise me and I had no idea! I was in shock! They said I looked like I'd seen a ghost. It was the best surprise ever though. Turning around and seeing his face is something I'll never forget. I'm so glad he's home safe now and I couldn't be more proud and thankful for him!

I Voted Today!

Since I was sick this weekend and stayed home yesterday I decided to stay until this morning so I could vote before I headed back. For some reason I get nervous before I go in to vote. I'm afraid I'm going to embarrass myself and mess up or something, but how? Of course I've only been twice, once for the presidential election and once today. Anyway, I think it's a really good experience and I'm glad I got to do it. One of the best parts though was getting the sticker that said "I voted" and wearing it around all day.

Advising

Ugh I am sooo mad right now. I just got out of my meeting with my advisor and I could just scream! My plans are to graduate next fall but it seems like everything keeps getting in the way! In my meeting I just found out that I have to have one class before I have another. Okay that's fine. The only thing is, is the class I have to have after is only offered in the spring. So I won't have time to take it if I plan on graduating next fall. I could take it in the summer but I planned on taking physics at my community college over the summer so I probably won't be able to work out both. Why is this happening?? I am so over school right now!

A Stressful Week

This week has already started off badly! I've been sick all weekend and I'm still not better. So because of that, I had to miss my classes today. In one of the classes I have a test Wednesday that I haven't even started studying for. I also have a paper due this week and a presentation, among other things. I wish I could just lay around all day until I feel somewhat better but I can't help but stress about my test and everything else I have to do. This is definitely not what I had planned for this week!
