Final Cover Design
Business Card Development
Front of my design. I created a ligature with my initials to form more of a logo so it became more obvious which was the front and back of my designs.
Professional Development
Portfolio Development:
I decided to create my portfolio on Indesign also as it is easy to use and after attending Adobe training at university I became very familiar with how to maintain consistency through master pages and grid systems.
Professional Development
Business Card Designs -
Using Photoshop, I experimented with creating a marble effect background to base my professional development around as it reflects high quality. I then created my design in Indesign as this allows me to create a back and a front for when I come to print my design. I will be using the same theme (colours, typefaces, shapes) throughout my portfolio, business cards, CV and any other self branding I do to maintain consistency.Ā
Critical Evaluation concept:
In my essay I will be looking atĀ āOne Beat One Treeā byĀ Naziha Mestaoui andĀ āPandaās On Tourā by Paulo Grangeon in particular.
A dozen artistic responses to one of the greatest threats of our time.
Critical Evaluation concept:
How contemporary design and visual communication can influence change in terms of climate change.
For my essay in particular I will be referencing Zaria Forman and herĀ āArctic Oceanā piece.
Cover Designs
After playing around with typefaces, I decided to edit my own sketch that I scanned in and felt this worked better with the style of the other elements.
Cover Designs
On the submission details for the brief, we were given the cover copy that we need to include on the back, spine and front cover. I added these in and then developed my concept around this.
Further Development
After experimenting with different compositions on Indesign for my cover, I decided to re do the astronaut helmet from scratch using shapes. I was much happier with the final appearance.
Book cover Development
These were the final assets for my cover design after being edited on Photoshop, from the original sketches I scanned in.
Experimentation
I also scanned in my own sketches to form the main elements of my design.
Typeface Development
I scanned in my best sketch and developed it digitally with colour on Photoshop.
Typeface Development
Before taking to the computer, I thought it was important to sketch some possible typeface designs. As my cover will follow the concept of space, I decided to try and create a 3D effect typeface as it would stand out to the reader.
Wonder by R.J Palacio.
The best way to get inspiration. Iāve seen the film but I wanted to read through the book to see how it compares, although they are both very similar there are small differences. As I will be designing the book cover, I thought I needed to buy the book to read it for myself and see what feeling it gives. There are a lot of emotions like sympathy but also happiness and it is definitely an inspiring read.
Further Development
I think the compositions that work the best are the top 2 so I will be developing these further digitally.
