Tis the season!
Whenever I think about everything coming up this summer, I feel so full of happiness! I can't wait to be with my boyfriend, my family, and so many good friends for over two months. I have so many things I want to do. On top of this, I am really looking forward to my internship opportunity! I think it's going to be a great experience for me. I intend on meeting more Massachusetts SA professionals for informational interviews too, which should be really neat. Such a lucky girl right now!
Still hits home really quite well.
Home is wherever I'm with you.
-Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
I get to see almost every single one of my favorite people this week. If that isn't enough to make my heart sing, I don't know what is.
Thursday night can't come soon enough.
Ingrid + Storyman (aka the Guggenheim Grotto) = Heaven.
I get to see them both live again on June 3rd with Shelley too! Third time seeing both of these favorites of mine in concert: twice together and once separately for each as well.
We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won’t need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don’t fire cannons to call attention to their shining- they just shine.
Dwight L. Moody
This quote epitomizes my Bumpa quite well. He would have been so honored by all of those who recognized how much he shined throughout his life (for all of the right reasons!)
This is beautiful and sweet.
Senate Bill 1062 does not address a specific and present concern related to religious liberty in Arizona. I have not heard of one example in Arizona where a business owner’s religious liberty has been violated. The bill is broadly worded and could result in unintended and negative consequences. After weighing all of the arguments, I vetoed Senate Bill 1062 moments ago. To the supporters of the legislation, I want you to know that I understand that long-held norms about marriage and family are being challenged as never before. Our society is undergoing many dramatic changes. However, I sincerely believe that Senate Bill 1062 has the potential to create more problems than it purports to solve. It could divide Arizona in ways we cannot even imagine and no one would ever want. Religious liberty is a core American and Arizona value. So is non-discrimination.
Republican governor JAN BREWER, vetoing SB 1062, which would have allowed businesses to discriminate against customers based solely on sexual orientation.
She vetoed it, yes. But read the language in her veto letter and take it for what it’s worth: Brewer and others like her continuing to put the “definition” of marriage before the issue of civil and human rights.

Thank heavens.
24 hours from now, I will be in Massachusetts! Can never contain my excitement the day before a visit.
After a week of being sick with the flu, I'm having a really happy day today! It's gorgeous outside in mid-February too. Biggest perk of my Floridian life. Also, my next trip to Massachusetts is in 11 days and I'm getting quite excited. Wheeeeee!
Curling? I’ve been doing that since my bat mitzvah.
Only trees and more trees and plenty of blue sky. And you could laugh, Sally. You could go to sleep and wake up and never have to think who likes and doesn’t like you. You could close your eyes and you wouldn’t have to worry what people said because you never belonged here anyway and nobody could make you sad and nobody would think you’re strange because you like to dream and dream. And no one could yell at you if they saw you out in the dark leaning against a car, leaning against somebody without someone thinking you are bad, without somebody saying it sis wrong, without the whole world waiting for you to make a mistake when all you wanted, all you wanted, Sally, was to love and to love and to love and to love, and no one could call that crazy.

This came on while I was in the dressing room today and I remembered how much I love it! Ingrid is the absolute best.
