like, i’m pretty sure tiktok has existed for longer than vine did at this point but i’m yet to actually see an “iconic” tiktok. like people always caption like “this tiktok is ICONIC” but i’ve never seen one stay in the public consciousness for any longer than the 2 minutes it appears on my timeline. i never see people quote tiktoks or like, act them out with their friends or anything, not a single tiktok i’ve seen has had any actual staying power

just a friendly reminder that the only valid system is a traumagenic system! <3 It's not possible to have a disorder without the symptoms, and it's not possible to have a disorder without a reason. And for those of you who say "well what about adhd? well what about depression? well what about xyz" well... adhd is a neurodivergence, it's caused by the brain not processing things like a "normal" brain would. Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance. These two have reasons, actual reasons. Endogenic systems are the equivalent of saying "i have ADHD but i can focus 100% and i don't forget things at all, and I never ever get overwhelmed" you see how *wrong* that sounds? if anyone else said that they'd be called an ableist.

Rapid switching can happen and it's usually pretty uncomfortable. When two (or more) alters are coconscious and are fighting for control, it's like a shoving match with my brain in the middle. Another reason why "Can you get [other alter] to front instead?" is an awful question and an even worse request.

I agree that endos are harmfuf, but i dissagree that ppl outside a certain community dont get to have opinions/stances abt the community. If people outside communities are educated abt said communities and have stances on things as a result, there will be more knowledge anb what is harmful

Anyone outside of the DID/OSDD community cannot speak on our issues. They cannot fathom the amount of pain we went through our entire lives to justify being split into multiple people. Please understand that. Even if you’re educated, you still cannot speak for us.

Doctors go to school for that stuff, therapists go to school for that stuff, and when they don't we don't want them telling us what is and isn't correct, and even then they're sometimes they're wrong

Medical research is not and never has been conclusive proof of anything. How many diagnoses have doctor (who went to school for that stuff) gotten wrong? How many people diagnosed with DID had to go through several misdiagnoses before finally being given the correct one? We’re on the 5th version of the DSM now because diagnostic criteria are constantly changing.

Not to mention, the people and therapists who went to school for this stuff still don’t know everything. It’s well known in the community that every system is different. 

Oh, and the DSM-V doesn’t even list trauma as a requirement for receiving a diagnosis for DID.

And even if you do believe that you need trauma to be a system, many, many systems won’t remember their trauma, many systems won’t have accepted their trauma, and many system don’t believe their trauma was “bad enough”. Any of these reasons could lead to someone calling themselves endo. So even if we pretend for one second that I agree trauma is the only cause of a system (which I don’t), calling yourself endophobic is still directly harming “real systems.” You’re feeding into the shame and self-doubt that we all know comes hand in hand with DID and OSDD and will lead to people trying to suppress their systems or not get help from professionals when they need it because of their self-doubt which your entire blog encourages.

I don’t normally discourse on this blog because most of the discussion on this issue is counterproductive to both sides and both sides demonize each other, but anyone who is calling another system fake or saying that a system is harming the community because of the word they use to label themselves is probably doing more harm to the community.

Believe whatever you want, just don’t call someone else fake, especially not in public. You’re just feeding into the doubts of everyone who sees that post.
