"VR Gun Game Sketch" - Created back in April 2018. Now in Quill Theater! . After playing a lot of COMPOUND I wanted to make a multiplayer VR game featured around mechanical weapon/tool interactions. 2020 sucked ass. Creative projects became my drug of choice to get thru it. I had a lot of fun with the Quill Weekly Challenges and made healthy progress on PILOT. Another special moment was releasing Alex's Sci-Fi World, as a feature series in Quill Theater, with my bud @alexsmartin. My pro design work is what I'm most proud of. Another year added to the best job of my career. . My favorite moments this year were the rare times I got to hang out with friends, the early months with my team in the office, and most of all spending quality time with my daughter. . PILOT: Final Creature Design - What if Ridley asked Giger to build a standing suit for both the Alien AND Space Jockey during film production? This was the central mindset I put myself in while designing untouched aspects of the Space Jockey. Things like it's back, legs, bottom torso, and what it would look like alive. For continuity, I blended a bunch of details from Giger's suit for the Alien. I took a guess on how Giger MIGHT have designed this under Ridley's Direction. . This was modeled, and animated, in VR with Quill. Rendering and materials in Blender. Modeling in Quill produces really organic and detailed results. Perfect for Giger's style. The Geo is raw which makes it all feel more organic. Repeating strokes kinda look like muscle.
