Challenge 2 - Day of the Battle Outfit
Choose Your Side - Theon, Mason, & Aurora
The question, the voice behind him, and the push all caught him off guard and he stumbled back, but quickly caught his balance. âAurora?â He said glancing at her. He didnât want to take his eyes of the guy. But she knew himâŚ? Of course she did, she lived at Hydra, she must have met him there. It didnât mean anything. âAurora, you need to hide. Your brothers? Theyâre behind all this.â
Aurora shook her head as Mason said he was here to get her. âNo.â she said. âI wonât come with you.â she told him. She would stay here with Theon and Tobias would be here any minute now, if she was going anywhere he was the only person she would go with. She looked at Theon who seemed quite shaken up by the entire situation and they hadnât spoken yet since the battle had started. âI know I need to hide, I canât stay here. S.H.I.E.L.D. wants my head.â she told him. âI want you to come with me. We can go Rogue, we donât need anyone.â she begged. âI donât know if my brothers are behind this. Iâm sure theyâre a part of it.â she said. She glared at Mason again. âWho sent you?â
This was going to be more difficult than he had hoped it would be. But he could make this work. He just had to twist around words, pit them against each other. He could do that. Theon was already filled with doubt, all he needed to do was have Aurora see that. âAurora, Iâm trying to help you.â He said, his voice much more soft now as he spoke to her. âAurora, not everybody trusts you anymore.â He said, casting a glance toward Theon that he was sure she would be able to see before he looked back at her. âTheyâre not behind this.â He said simply. Though, he truly didnât know who was behind it. âThey are the ones who sent me here to get you. I agreed to do it because weâre friends and I didnât want you to get hurt.â

come out of your cave || Mason & Bailee
âYeah, super strength.â Bailee quipped back, crossing her arms and staring, the sand entering her shoes and steadily climbing. âStop giving me that!â She nearly pleaded, not sure what to think anymore. âSeriously! You are wearing HYDRA, and you claim to be here with the Rogues? Is there anything you said that hasnât been a lie!?â Her hands tensed into fists and she only shook her head. âMason. I donât know who you really are, but I canât trust you. Odd jobs my ass. Thereâs a lot more going on here, and I will suffocate in sand if I have to before I let you out.â
âRight.â He said simply, his expression remaining calm as the sand continued to fill the room. âStop giving you the truth? Sure!â He said, rolling his eyes. âNope, everythingâs a lie. Iâm actually an inhuman whoâs ability is to turn into a rainbow fish and fly away.â He retorted sarcastically. She didnât need to know anything about him. Hardly anybody knew much about him and he liked to keep it that way. So he hoped his sarcasm and constant denying would be enough to let her accept the lie he had told her. âThereâs really not much more going on, but whatever. Weâll both die because youâre too stubborn to accept that not everything is some grand scheme of lies.â
Over my dead body- Mason, Aurora & Tobias
Aurora was more quiet than usual as she walked with Mason. She looked rather defeated. How could Theon think she had betrayed him? He must have never really trusted her in the first place. Wasnât she always just a pretty face to everyone? There was bitterness rising in her heart that seemed to consume every viber of her being. She looked up at the sound of Tobiasâ voice. âToby!â Thank god he was alright. She reached out for his hand but smacked Masonâs shoulder with it instead once he pulled out the gun. âPut that thing away, heâs here to help.â she said. âToby, listenâŚâ she said wanting to explain the situation but her words got lost in the screams of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who seemed to have found them and coming their way fast. âOh shitâŚâ she said, usure of what to do for a brief moment.
@tobias-x-gonet
Tobias almost seemed completely unphased as Mason pointed the gun at him. He knew he wouldnât dp it anyways unless he really had to and Tobias just wanted to get Aurora back. That was literally all he wanted to do and Mason was just another stupid complication. He jolted his head towards the other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. He couldnât be seen here. Not now when he has killed so many people on his own side. âYou can explain later. Follow me.â He had to get them to a safe place to talk. Right now it wasnât safe for any of them and Tobias had to refrian from using his power with the risk of harming the other two. He knew this place inside and out though. After years of being ignored he knew all the perfect labs or classrooms to hide in. âThis way.â Tobias said swiftly turning down one of the hallways beforew he put pushed one of the doors open and waited for Mason and Aurora to get in before shutting it, ducking his head as the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents passed the door and left the hallway. @lazarusmason
Mason didnât mind the silence that had fallen between him and Aurora. He didnât know her well and the few times they had spoken, he had never particularly been fond of her either. An eyebrow quirked when she had called out Tobiasâs name. Of course she should know him, that would make sense since she had been living here. Still, it seemed a little odd. When she smacked his shoulder, it took everything he had not to glare at her. instead, he put the pistol away and looked back at Tobi. Here to help my ass. He thought to himself. What SHIELD agent was going to willingly help? âAurora, we donât have time to talk to him.â He said, hearing the agents approaching. Once the agents had passed them, he looked back Aurora, completely ignoring Tobias despite what heâd done. âThere are bound to be more and you know it. We donât have time to stand and wait, I need to get you back. Now come on.â @auroradougal
Bring Me To Life - Mason & Annabella
Mason had always been good at comforting her and hugging her. So when she felt his arms wrap around her, she felt a little more safe even though she was suddenly dropped into the future. A future in which she was twenty-five and had gotten into some sort of accident that made her forget everything. âBut I canât imagine how worried I made you.â Annabella mumbled as a few of her tears were soaked into his shirt when she realized that his shirt was already slightly damp with a slight smell of blood. It brought back the panic. âM-Mason.â She pulled back. âWhy is there blood on your shirt?â
She pulled back, her brown eyes focused on him for the answer. It made her feel conflicted. If she was in an accident for a few weeks, there shouldnât be any still wet blood anywhere. However, Mason would never lie to her. He never had so she assumed nothing has changed. âOkay, everything will be okay.â Annabella let out a deep breath though she was still terrified. Taking the clothes, she went into Masonâs bathroom. Annabella started to remove her slightly damp clothes. While she was taking off her shorts, she looked down. When she glanced down she realized blood was pooling against her skin, a subconscious effect that had come of her training that somehow stuck with her while her memories didnât. The woman screamed at the sight. What was going on with her blood? Did Mason know about this? She just didnât understand anything. What happened in those ten years that was missing?
It felt odd to comfort her again after all of these years. Especially since she was so much older. But it reminded him of everything they had once been. How close they used to be and how much he loved her. âItâs okay Anna.â He said, holding her tightly, not caring if her tears were soaking into his shirt or not. None of that mattered to him right now. Until she pulled away. Shit. He didnât even think about that. He should have changed his shirt before she woke up but he wasnât thinking. He froze for a moment, how could he explain that. What kind of explanation could be possibly have for blood being on his shirt? âItâs not blood.â He said after a long pause. âItâs paint. I was helping somebody paint their walls earlier.âÂ
Yeah, that was a really awful lie. Who even paints their walls this dark? Usually nobody. But maybe it was good enough to suit her. He had hoped so at least. âYeah, everything will be okay.â He said reassuringly to her. At least she seemed to be calming a little bit. Or so he hoped. When she went to the bathroom, he let out a breath in relief. He was about to start cleaning everything when her scream had him running to the bathroom. Opening the door, he stared at her before looking at the blood that pooled against her skin. Shit, shit. He stared at her. âThatâs how blood words now. In the future.â He said quickly. âAt least some peoplesâ. Itâs something scientists are working so that people are less likely to bleed out when they get hurt.â He added.
Bring Me To Life - Mason & Annabella
A small smile played on the corners of her lips as he lightly squeezed her hand. Mason had always been kind to her. He was always more gentle when it came to her and it made her feel special. It was what helped her trust him. He was the one who saved her from others and the only person she truly knew that she could trust and turn to.
Her eyebrows knitted together as she noticed tears beginning to form in his eyes. Had she really forgotten ten entire years of her life? Ten years was a long time. Ten years was most of what she could remember from her life, seeing as she thought she was only fifteen. Her slightly confused expression was replaced by a sad one when she heard her story. Annabella couldnât bare to think of how worried Mason must have been seeing that she was not supposed to have made it out of her coma. âIâm so sorry I made you worry, Mason.â She wrapped her arms around him, beginning to tear up herself. Even though she couldnât remember their whole life together, she couldnât imagine what it would have been like to even consider living without him. It must have been worse on him since they would have been close for going on nineteen years, at least that is what she thought. âWhere is the shower? Do I have extra clothes? Where are we?â The question already began flooding from her before she even got a chance to get in the shower and get clean. Why did the doctors not already clean her up? She began to wonder as she took her hair down.
The smile that formed on her face comforted him. Even if he had pushed her away before, it was because he wasnât sure if he could trust her. But now there was no doubt. All he saw now was the girl he had known years ago. Even if she was covered in blood and scared of everything.
He blinked a few times, forcing away the tears. he could make this work. He knew he could. It would just take a lot to make sure he had a convincing life for her. He could give her a new life now. If she couldnât remember her old one, he would fabricate one for her and in this one she was happy. She was never abused or abandoned. âNo, donât apologize.â He said, wrapping his arms around her so he could hold her close. âItâs okay Anna.â He whispered. âIâm just glad that youâre okay now.â he added. âThe shower is right through that door.â He said, pointing over toward it. âYouâre at my place. I donât have any extra clothes for you or anything, but you can borrow some of mine for now.â He said calmly as he let go of her. âEverything will be okay now, yeah?â he said with a small smile, hoping that somehow he would be able to pull this off. Then he left her for a moment and walked to his room. After a few minutes, he came back with a pair of pajama pants and a t-shirt for her to wear. At least the time she would take to shower he hoped would be enough for him to come up with a good reason for everything.
Bring Me To Life - Mason & Annabella
Her hand reached out to touch his face. She needed to see if he was real. Everything around her seemed so odd. Why did she forget so much of her life? Why was she covered in blood? Part of her wondered if it was all simply a dream that she was having and soon she would wake up to tell Mason all about how she had a crazy dream in which he seemed scared and his face was pale. Sadness replaced the fear as she looked up into his blue eyes. It was a sadness for Mason. She wondered all the she might have forgotten as he asked her what the last thing was that she remembered.
âYesterday, the caretaker reprimanded me because I told the family who wanted me to fuck off. Then you and I went and stole some ice cream because he was going to make me go to bed without dinner. You almost tried to get me to stay in your room so that the caretaker wouldnât be too harsh on me.â It was clear as she recounted the story that she remembered it as though it only happened a day ago. âI-I am twenty-five?! No, no. Iâm fifteen.â When she looked down, she noticed the necklace. âYou gave this to me this year. I canât be twenty-five.â Part of her wanted to hug him, and hide her face in his chest like she did when she was scared. Yet, he was so much older than she remembered him being just the other day and it scared her.Â
Mason lightly covered her hand with his own and gave it a light squeeze. Everybody that he brought back was always scared. Most of them remembered themselves dying and panicking. She didnât see to recall that though. Her fears were far different. It was as if she could hardly recognize him. As if she was expecting to wake up from a horrible nightmare. He continued to look at her, his expression a gentle one he hadnât had in years.
As she told the story, tears pricked in his eyes. It felt like yesterday that had happened. But it wasnât yesterday. It was ten years ago. Ten years. He hadnât erased small portions of memories. He had erased an entire portion of her life. âYouâre twenty five.â He repeated, his voice soft, almost a whisper. âShh, youâll be okay.â He said, pausing as he tried to come up with some logical reason as to how this had happened. âListen, you were in a really bad accident.â He said as he looked her in the eyes. âYou were in a coma for a few weeks and the doctors didnât think that you were going to make it. You had a serious head injury and they suspected you would have a lot of memory loss.â At least that would be logical enough, right? yeah. Or so he hoped. âEverything is going to be okay.â He assured her, putting his hands on her shoulders. âWhy donât you go get a shower and clean up and Iâll answer every question you have.â
Over my dead body- Mason, Aurora & Tobias
After Tobias had told Aurora to leave. He had a bag swung around his shoulders as he stepped over the bodies outside his room. The people that he killed and started his way to the location that Aurora said she was going to meet Theon. He seemed to get there fairly well. No one really noticed Tobias, as usual. Most people didnât even know what his name was at this point even though heâs been here for so long. Though as Tobias made his way to Aurora his eyes were darting back and fourth as he ran through the hallways and adjusted the strap on his bag. As he saw Aurora at the end of the hallway he ran towards her, probably looking a little paranoid at this point but he didnât really know what to do anymore. Though he froze when he saw her with Mason and knew that wasnât Theon at all after having that short encounter with him earlier. âWhat the hell is happening?â He asked as he glanced in between Aurora and Mason. Did he fail at protecting Aurora after all those people he killed for her? No, he wasnât going to let that stand. âAurora. Come on. We can leave now. What is he doing here? Why are you with him?â His voice sounded rushed and panicked as his grip tightened on his bag and he held out his free hand for Aurora to take.
@auroradougal @lazarusmason
Mason was glad when Aurora had willingly gone with him. It had saved him a lot of hassle of having to argue with her or forcefully carry her out. Things seemed to be going smoothly as they ran through the halls of SHIELD. Managing to avoid the agents and others that were swarmed everywhere. That is until a voice brought him to a halt. Almost automatically, his hand pulled out the pistol he had hidden and readied it in case he would need to shoot. Looking at the man, there was a brief sense of familiarity. This had been the drunken idiot from several weeks ago. What a twist of fate. That didnât matter though. All that mattered was getting Aurora out of here. âAurora, we need to go.â He informed her, his eyes locked on Tobias as he completely ignored his questions. âWe donât have time for this.â He added as he glanced at her.

Bring Me To Life - Mason & Annabella
When Annaâs heart stopped, she fell to the ground very lifeless. Her ponytail somehow managed to remain intact as she had battled. Everything on her had seemed to get blood on it, including the necklace Mason had given her so many years ago. When she had heard Hydra was attacking, S.H.I.E.L.D. she hoped that Mason wasnât involved. It was her worst nightmare to have to fight him or even to see him die in front of her. The twist was that she needed him there. Being dead was permanent for most, but Mason was the only one who would be able to bring her back even if she didnât know that.
When Annabella woke up, it was almost like she had been sleeping. âJust five more minutes, Mason.â Her eyes started to flutter and the Mason she saw in front of her was not the fiffteen year old boy that she had just joked around with yesterday. Her eyes widen and her heart began to race. Blood no longer flowed from her cuts, but remained close to her skin. The brunette backed up a bit. âM-Mason?â The woman asked, clearly terrified, though the older version of Mason was attractive it wasnât her Mason. âWh-When? H-How? Where am I? Why are you so old?â She looked down to her hands and the rest of her body. It was more developed than she remembered and the blood was only scaring her more. âH-How old am I? What is going on?â Even scared, Mason was the only person she would turn to.Â
Every second was slow for him. He had brought back many people easily, of course she would come back. That didnât help his panic, the pure worry and guilt he felt. What if he had messed up? What if he had only brought her back enough to be like a zombie more than a human? These questions ran through his head as he stared at her. Then he wondered just what she would forget when she woke up. What if she woke up and forgot him completely? He didnât know if he could live with that.
When her eyes had opened, relief filled him. âNow, you need to wake up.â He said, his tone quiet and soft as he spoke to her. She remembered him at least. Although he didnât know how much she remembered. Maybe she had just forgotten the past few days and thought this was the same day they had been reunited. That would be easy. Though when her expression changed to fear, that made him worry. âItâs me,â He said, though her next question made him worry. What did she mean by old? How much of her memory had he accidentally gotten rid of? âAnna, whatâs the last thing you remember?â he asked, his mind running. âYouâre twenty five years old. Shh, youâre okay Anna. Just tell me, whatâs the last thing you remember?â He asked as he looked at her.Â
Bring Me To Life - Mason & Annabella
Walking into the room, Mason ignored Arrowâs whining for attention as he carefully set Annabellaâs lifeless body down on the table in his room. The day had been going so well. Everything he needed to do had been going exactly as planned. But just as he was leaving, he saw her lying there. Coated in blood and completely lifeless. His clothes had been stained with blood from carrying her and wondered how much of it was hers. He didnât want to think about that. That thought made his face pale. He hated feeling like this. He was defenseless, hurt. Even if he had tried to push her away, he still loved her. Every moment they had spent together as children had meant the world to him and now she was dead. He kept blaming himself. Telling himself he could have warned her, he could have went to her and protected her. Instead, he had knowingly put her in danger.Â
After he locked his door, he returned to her body and took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. It was impossible to be calm right now, but he tried. Because he knew that his powers affects could end badly if he werenât calm. Once he was sure he would be able to bring her back, he stood beside her. His hands over her body, yellow lines forming from his palms and covering his arms. Closing his eyes, he concentrated. Focusing all of his energy, everything he had, to bring her back. It didnât know how long it had taken. It was shorter than most but it had also taken more energy than he had usually needed. He knew his face was pale, he could feel his hands shaking, and sweat beading on his forehead. He didnât care. All he was worried about was seeing if it had worked or not. Cupping her face in his shaking hands, he looked at her. âAnna, please.â He begged, any moment hoping for her eyes to open.

come out of your cave || Mason & Bailee
Bailee stared still, before she finally rolled her eyes and stated, âIâm much stronger than I look. I could punch through any of these walls, but Iâm not going to, not without the truth. Youâve covered up too many things. Is your whole mom story an act too? To think, I actually felt sorry for you and yourâŚmade up family.â She knew that calling his bluff was something that would ring important to her, but, as the sand slowly crept up to her ankles, she stood, unmoving, hoping that she wouldnât forfeit before him.
âAh, super strength then.â He said, more as a note to himself than anything else. âCovered up? I havenât covered up anything.â He said, his face looking as if she had horribly offended him. âItâs not an act. I didnât want to tell you my job because itâs, well, itâs a little bit of an odd job.â He said, hoping if he kept going with it long enough she would accept his lie again. âIt helps, okay? Not only with money, but with making connections that can help my mom.â He said, his tone more desperate and pleading to try and convince her.
Choose Your Side - Theon, Mason, & Aurora
Aurora had been sprinting across the base in order to keep herself out of the hands of S.H.I.E.L.D. loyalists. Everyone thought she had betrayed them and everyone wanted her head for it. She had even questioned herself for a moment. Had she said anything to her brothers? How was it possible Hydra found out about the S.H.I.E.L.D. base teh very moment she was here? She understood the coincidence of it all was rarther hard to swallow. But she wasnât planning on going to prison. No way that was going to happen. As she was trying to find a way to escape or stay hidden she sprinted past Theon and some guy that seemed to go at it. She shouldnât involve herself and stay hidden but it was TheonâŚÂ âHey hands off him!â she called out. Only then she noticed it was Mason. âWhat are you doing here?â she asked him suspiciously while joining Theonâs side while putting her hand on his shoulder.
âItâs not true? How do you think we found the base in the first place?â He said, meeting Theonâs gaze as he was pushed against the wall. Mason pushed him back roughly and was ready to go after him when he heard a familiar voice. Looking over, he saw Aurora and put his hands up, stepping back from Theon. âIâm here to get you.â He said simply, tucking his knife back where he had it hidden, his gaze looking at Theon. âI donât know if I would trust him, by the way.â He informed her. Hopefully, he would be able to get her to come with him without an issue. Although he was ready to fight, if need be, right now he needed to get her out of her as soon as possible and he knew that.
Choose Your Side - Theon, Mason, & Aurora
âYes. Because they treated her horrible.â He answered. âShe wouldnât do this. She wouldnât do this to me. â He wished he was able master being indifferent with the teleporting. He was wearing his emotions on his sleeve, he knew the guy was trying to get at him, but he couldnât handle the idea of her betraying him.
âIâm sure thatâs what she told you.â He said with an understanding nod. âApparently she would, Iâm just sorry you got hurt in the process. But, not my place to care.â He said with a a shrug. âNow move.â he said in a more serious tone before he pushed Theon roughly.
Choose Your Side - Theon, Mason, & Aurora
âWhat?â That made him stop. âNo, sheâs not. Youâre lying.â He sounded like a child, but he need to verbalize it. She wasnât a spy, she wanted to be here with him. âZadrianâs controlling you isnât he. Heâs making you say these things. These lies.â
âDo you really think she would leave all of her friends, her family, to come here?â He questioned, an eyebrow quirking as he realized he was hitting a soft spot. âIâm completely under my own control, heâs not making me say anything. Iâm just telling you the truth. Sorry if she hurt you, but she is a Dougal after all.â
Choose Your Side - Theon, Mason, & Aurora
With the guy walking towards him, it turned into a game of chicken and he was not backing down. âAbsolutely not. Her brothers did all this?â He said through clenched teeth. If he found Zadrian here, he would rip him apart. Or at least maim him, he didnât think Aurora would appreciate him killing her brother even if he was an asshole. âThereâs no way sheâs going back to them.â
Mason refused to back down, especially not when heâd already made it this far. âHer brothers hardly did a thing.â He said, although he didnât know the truth of that statement he didnât care either. What mattered was getting Aurora. âShe came here as a spy, her brothers are getting paranoid that something bad will happen to her. Among the attack, they thought it would be a great time to bring her back.â He said simply
Choose Your Side - Theon, Mason, & Aurora
Theon ignored his question, and the knife. He thought about pulling his own, but he needed this guy for information. Rather disarm him than kill him. âIf youâre not here to kill anyone, why are you here?â He asked again. He needed to figure out why Hydra was attacking to put an end to all of it.
Mason walked toward him, his knife held close to him as he did. âIâm looking for Aurora Dougal, pretty sure you know her. With that, you can either help me or this can end very short and sweet. I donât have all of the time int he world, you know.â
Choose Your Side - Theon, Mason, & Aurora
Theon clenched his teeth, cursing himself for wearing his emotions on his sleeve. His hand slowly went to his knife, heâd probably shift before using it, but it was a comfort to know it was there. âIâm not going to let that happen.â He continued to move forward, slower now and occasionally glancing at the manâs hand on his knife. âWhat are you doing here? Why is Hydra attacking?â He demanded.Â
Mason continued watching him carefully. Observing every move. âOf course not, youâd rather play hero right?â He asked, pulling out the knife with his right hand as Theon continued moving closer. âIâm not here to hurt or kill anybody, doesnât mean I wonât if I donât have to. So stand down and I promise itâll make things a lot easier.â He said, ignoring the questions Theon had asked.Â
