Here some crafts ideas we could do in the group - I am thinking some paper art would be fun and easy. 

Finger paint will likely get too messy, but something else they can hang - like paintings, mandala’s, some handcrafted hangers like the little blue bee or angle or whatever that is in the image. 

Also, if we do games at all, I don’t think we should be so random about them - the bing bong balls just keep floating around in the room and we don’t have a bing pong table, So, if the group feels like a game would fit in the end of the piece, then let’s offer the audience something that they can actually execute in the in the BB - see kids games on images for some inspiration; or else, maybe we have enough to do just with decorating, if we provide enough craft possibilities

:) That image is kind of creepy - I like it. 

I think the idea that there is a leader of the ceremony is something we could steal from that image. With everyone carrying the umbrella like in the “dress rehearsal” it has more the flair of a funeral. I think the idea of a leader who holds up the umbrella that is worshiped by the followers is something to try out maybe

The peacekeeper/organizer and overseer of the event

Somewhat of an young hyper motivated ‘teacher type’/ tries to appear responsible & serve her position of authority but has also a strong connection to the students, as she herself is not yet long out of college.

Motivational  songs

Hey guys,

So, I revisited High School musical yesterday after rehearsal and those songs are hilarious and their lyrics so general, that it wouldn’t take too much to change them for our purposes. I  thought we could add more songs (at least 1 more) to our show. 

We could talk next rehearsal, about how the music could frame our show. 

I think there was a general consensus that we don’t want to make it a straight up musical, but maybe we could have an entrance & exit musical performance, to frame the service day?

Haha, these umbrellas really made me laugh. 

I think we could make an even bigger deal out of our UMBRELLA.

Maybe we could frame it as a “ritual” somehow, and the person that is holding the umbrella becomes somehow part of the ritual, or heralded for holding it.

Underscoring

So - Angela had that idea of underscoring the last couple of lines of our script, that relate to “DSA’s providing a sense of belonging & friendship”

I thought to stick with the score we establish in the end,  we could use instrumental songs of High school musical to underscore the text. If so, I would suggest one of those songs

 I am thinking, we could take “prison” pictures for the ID’s on the powerpoint, which is in line with the “secret/hidden” information they give away about teh characters, while they talk.
