Happy Mother’s Day my friends.

I would have given anything to get this one last Mother’s Day with my mom. She left us last week at 70, but she sure didn’t leave us empty. She was always one of those fill everyone’s cup up to the brim with her love and care.

She had me at 16, and after less than half a year it was just me and her against the world. We grew up together, and seeing the world through a single young mother’s eyes in the 70s and 80s shaped me and chiseled deep core beliefs. No matter what we encountered she always made sure I had what I needed on top of all the love she surrounded me with.

When Olive became a big part of my life, she was all in. She read everything she could on our community, she filled my inbox with news and worry for us. She went to protests and Prides. Her support and love for all of us was never a question, even when she “didn’t get it all” at first

The first are some pics from two years ago when we went to the Indigo Girls concert (we both used to howl to their music in the 80s on our many road trips) It was amazing to get to see them live together.

What an amazing ride she had!
