Capitalism is violence against the poor. When the poor take what they need to survive, the capitalists holding them hostage suddenly think violence is unacceptable. The same capitalists wage wars for raw materials, starve families for lack of money, and poison children to preserve profits on a daily basis. Violence is only acceptable when they do it, it seems, and the poor are to remain powerless and accept their fate. But our responsibility, our dignity demands that we do not lay down and take it. We look not for a fight, but to defend ourselves against the forces of capital which threaten our very survival.
