i’ve said this before, but: on the geminitaylor swift essay, i had an outline with the content, but i lost the draft. and with that, all the evidence i had slowly constructed. but i also want to post the essay, abridged or not, at some point. but (if you’re counting, this is the 4th but) the more time passes, the more i lose my previously encyclopaedic memory of traffic!gem’s relevant quotes to use as evidence, which are not as easy to search up as taylor’s music videos and interviews. so this is a request for your favourite gem quotes that expose her psyche

uni was kicking my ass, so I’m trying to catch up on pearl now…

im frequently irritated when people frame taylor as an artist who makes music only for white people or as someone whose fanbase is predominantly white. aside from the statistical reality that she has huge pull globally, as a non-white fan it genuinely feels like people refusing to believe that there can be non-white swifties as if we’re exotic animals incapable of enjoying taylor swift. and a lot of people saying this are white. you’re only saying all her fans are white because the only fans you see (or accept as “real” fans) are white. so yeah
