the overthinker: LONDON GUIDE: My Favourite Districts

Spending four months in a city close to London, I've gotten quite familiar with the city. I finally understand the underground maps, I know I've got to plan everything beforehand and not to trust too much on Google Maps. London is an amazing place, honestly. I don't think you can say 'I've been to London once, so I don't have to go there anymore.' Genuinely, it's a large place, not something you can see in 4 days. You can go to London over and over again and still discover new places, something I think is amazing.

Personal experiences come to your head quicker. When you know what it’s about, you can just - […] The words just come out of your mouth a lot easier and you find it a lot easier to be poetic, if you know what I mean, cause they’re your thoughts, whereas if you’re writing from, like, concept, it can take you just that little bit longer because you have to delve into the situation a little bit more […] and it’s easier to get into it that way. It just, it depends. Like, Mirrors is not really from personal experience, but it’s a common issue, so I found it easier to write about, if you know what I mean. Whereas other songs that aren’t - Like, Flicker literally took me 20 minutes to write because I knew what I wanted to say and stuff like that. I don’t know. It makes the songwriting process easier if you’re writing from personal experience, but if you know a little about the concept, then it’s also easy. So, a bit of both.
