BLOG RULES

4. Keep the confessions clean. Any confession with sexual/suggestive language will be deleted, simping over characters is fine but once again please keep it clean.

5. Spoilers will be tagged as each new season comes and goes.

I know this is said a lot but the fandom is seriously trying way too hard to make Macaque a father figure. He's done nothing but terrorize MK and project his problems onto him. Even when he does help MK, it's either cause he's forced to or it's out of nowhere and he's being sarcastic to him. He taught MK a very toxic training mindset that was detrimental to his mental health. I don't care if it's "but he sees himself that way!", it was shitty to do anyways. He was literally just using MK for petty revenge. None of this is healthy enough for MK to go anywhere near him, let alone make Macaque a "father figure". And while him catching Bai He was him showing a hint towards being better, their bond was SEVERELY exaggerated by the fans. He never saw her again after that scene and has never talked to her. They don't even know one another as acquaintances. Usually I wouldn't care about these fanon interpretations but at this point it's in almost every piece of Macaque work. It's just seriously ignoring canon and bending Macaque as a character to a painful degree to try and make him seem more likable

Not gonna lie every concept design we've seen from the LMK team has been miles better than the actual show. Red Son and Macaque both looked WAY better in concept, and they actually had visual symbolism and ties to their original lore. It's really disappointing those designs are going unused, they're way better than canon

Genuinely Macaque's characterization is one of the most confusing things I've ever seen. I always felt like LMK leaned into fanon too much, and Macaque is example #1. He was nothing but an antagonist who suddenly turned into a main hero out of nowhere. He didn't make up for any of his actions, he just randomly became a good guy. Even saying "Oh he helped the gang" doesn't work when either he only did it when there was literally no other option or when other villains who have put in the same effort as him and more get shoved to the side. I feel like the team just desperately wanted the audience to like him and it unfortunately worked to the level of very poorly squeezing in a nonexistent redemption arc so he can suddenly do cool stuff with the heroes and people can squeal about how far he's come. When in reality he didn't even put in the bare minimum to be a better person. Just because he's a likable villain doesn't make him a good hero

If that’s the reason you can’t ship them, then shut up about Shadowpeach, Spicynoodles, Freenoodles, Lionpeach EVERYTHING.

The problem is that these people actively spread misinformation and confuse those who don’t know better while being stuck up about it. I’ve had people get upset with me for not using the redson HC and harass me for “disrespecting the characters identity” and then when I point out the clear evidence that it’s not canon so they would leave me alone it got worse. All we want is for people to acknowledge this kind of thing is a headcanon like everyone else does with theirs.
