DYRK: Website
The Web and the City: Dyrk App (Video) This video is an advertisement and at the same time an attempt to demostrate DYRKs features as an App. Made in Adobe After Effects
Urban noticings: A website about Nydalen's textures This website is about my neighborhood - Nydalen, Oslo. I've concentrated on Nydalen's textures and therefore I've preferred to rely on black-and-white. The texture collection includes different types of materials as human made (or finished) - stone, concrete, asphalt, pebble, rubber, brick, glass, iron, plast - or nature made materials - moss, grass, flowers, water. The textures are shown in motion and in statics and by comparison in small texture palettes.
Interactive Herbarium: Arduino. Struggling about better sound
Wave Shield Adding quality audio to an electronic project is very difficult. The wave shield can play up to 22KHz 12bit uncompressed audio files of any length. It means real sound, music and voices. + to buy: SD card, speaker
Arduino UNO VS Wave Shield From my experience: After coding and setting up all together the Arduino Uno was low on memory and was not able to work properly, the quality of sound was low either. And the biggest problem was that the Wave Shield has taken the majority of pins, and I haven't got the possibility to use all other stuff I needed to the project.
Arduino Mega 2650 VS Wave Shield From my experience: So I bought the bigger Arduino - Mega with 54 digital pins and 16 analogs. So it didn't work either. The problem is that the Arduino Mega 2650 is not compatible with the Wave Shield. The SD card would not initialize. The reason is that the SPI ports (responsible for SD card) on the Arduino Mega 2560 are in different locations (pins 50, 51, 52, 53 Vs pins 10, 11, 12, 13 on the Wave Shield). Resoldering is possible, but difficult and the Wave Shield was not mine :)
Designing the Future:
Here are some screenshots from Soviet popular science and science fiction films by Pavel Klushantsev - Luna ("Moon", 1965) and Mars (1968). The films are about recent (mid-1960s) achievements in the exploration of the Moon (before the Apollo program and the Moon landings by Americans) and mainly about the Soviet dream of the exploration and human habitation of Moon and Mars in the near future and also visualization of the possibility of life on Mars and its forms.

Interactive Herbarium: some sketches
Solving problems: integrating a RFID scanner and RFID tags (cards or chips), choosing a type of scan interactions, designing shelves that motivate to put frames to its exacts places (to make it ready to the next users)
Reading:
Understanding Comics: The Invisible Art by American cartoonist Scott McCloud My rating: ***(**) This book is a brilliant study of comics art, its history, cultural and technical aspects. The book helps people understand the language of comics, what they are, what they can be, what makes them special, and so forth. McCloud is drawing parallels between comics and other art forms, but he is definitely emphasizing visual arts far more than literature. So this book is a must-read for any fan of comics and visual art. From my part reading this book was interesting and boring at the same time. There were some very fascinating parts with new infos, but there were also parts with too many details and obvious clarifications.
Interactive Herbarium - Find 5 Weeds
Interactive Herbarium is inspired by Korsmo's weed charts and the WEEDS - FRIEND OR FOE exhibition at @naturhistorisk_museum_oslo. This work was created in attempting to represent a herbarium in a new way - not as a lying flat sheet but as a picture with a strong visual potential. Combining the herbarium with a game - Find 5 Weeds - I have tried to attain several objects: to make this product helpful for training memory by recognising plants and learning about them, to show that the weed/not weed division is conventional by demonstrating the beauty of both "classes" in its variety. Try to guess right the 5 weeds - it is not so easy!
