It was almost soothing, the sound the steel edge of her hunting knife made as it scraped across a whetstone rhythmically, slowly sharpening. Jane kept her gaze trained on the knife as she honed it, her lips pulled into a habitual frown. It wasn’t until a pair of legs came into her peripheral vision that she paused, the blade on the whetstone stilling as she looked up at the person standing over her.
“ —— Can I help you? ”
Lennon wrinkled his nose slightly and half leaned away from the girl. He hadn’t meant to interrupt her or annoy her. He really just wanted to know if she had anything she wanted to trade, but at this point...he didn’t want anything to do with her. She seemed like the type of person not to mess with and Lennon definitely didn’t need any sort of mess at this point.Â
“Uh...no. Sorry I bothered you.”
