When Tilly had heard that a group of students was missing and then the names of those students, she wasn’t surprised. Distraught, yes, but not surprised. “Makes me want to go out there and get them. I will, if Albus asks for volunteers.”

Tilly was exactly where Lennox was at with this situation. He wasn’t going to idly sit there and let the missing students go head-first into something they’re not prepared for. He didn’t doubt their abilities, but they were still merely students. “I may not be able to wait that long. There’s not much stopping me from going to find them now.”

But Dorcas Meadowes and Mary MacDonald are definitely your favorite students.

You know as well as I that I do not choose favorites unlike a certain colleague of mine. But they are both talented and good students.

Which professors are you closest with, then?

Professors Gallagher, Blishwick, and Danvers. Though I do enjoy speaking with Professor McGonagall on the occasions we can.

I’ve always preferred dogs, but I don’t particularly dislike cats.

If you didn't teach your class, what other subject would you teach?

I haven’t really thought about what one I would teach very hardly, however I wouldn’t mind teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Are you close with your fellow professors?

Some more than others. It would depend on what they believe and how they run their classes. I tend to avoid talking to those I don’t agree with outside of what one would consider formal.

There are eleven and twelve year old students who must not see their professors panicking.” Looking worried and being worried were two completely different things; their duty at the moment was to keep the students calm and the only way they could do that was if they looked calm as well. Honestly, the younger ones didn’t need to know the professors were worried. “We can still provide the information they need and help them if we appear calm.”

“They left because they weren’t satisfied with how slowly we were finding Miss Daniels.” Not that he could really blame them. Watching adults standing around not getting a search party together had to really grind gear, they were doing that to him. He just hoped that now more than one student was missing, he would be sent out to get them. He would be surprised otherwise. He’s known all of them for as long as they’ve been in Hogwarts, of course one or two more than the others, but he still knew them for a long time. “You’re right, they needn’t see a professor panicking, so I apologize for my outburst in worry over the missing students, however, do not underestimate the perceptiveness of eleven and twelve year olds. You can pretend to be as calm as you wish, but they will know otherwise.” It was something he experienced or witnessed many times in the years he’d been here.

“Yes, gone.” Merlin, why couldn’t professors just control their emotions on the outside. Maybe she didn’t understand or simply, she didn’t care. Yes, she noticed Sirius had been on the mission to go rescue the nuisance that was Rosmerta Daniels, but he was far gone away from the Black name, at least he’d said so. It was expected that Narcissa would act a bit haughty when it came to situations like this and he did notice that she spoke her mind quite often on such matters. “I apologize for the inconvenience to you, Miss Black, however, a simple outburst will surely not effect you that strongly.” He swallowed a little before he nodded over towards where Horace Slughorn standing. “Would you rather I spend my time uncaring of the safety of these students and boast about my exploits over the last several years?”

Atalanta wished she could be more surprised at the sudden disappearance of the group of vigilante students, but she could honestly say she expected nothing less than such an attempt. The students she’d met were fierce at best, and there were more than a few who seemed as ready as she was to acknowledge that something was wrong. What she hadn’t expected was for them to succeed so easily. She’d been standing at the door the entire time. ❝I know. I didn’t even see them leave. They could have used some kind of cloaking charm - I don’t know. But they’ve definitely gone into the village. They’d probably start looking at the edge of the village, closest to the muggle village,❞ she said, and felt a sudden wave of fear for her students - closest to the death eaters. ❝We have to go.❞

Of anything Atalanta could have said to him, he’d suspected just that. In the small amount of time she’d had this post, Lennox had been able to grasp that she felt as he did about the students that walked these halls. “We do,” he agreed easily with a nod. “If we wait for the other professors to gather, we’ll have lost more time than we should.” He knew these students and he knew what they would do for their friend. No matter what house any of them were in, they weren’t going to think before they acted.

“The situation is far from ideal but we mustn’t let the other students think that we’re worrying, Lennox.” Eirian cast a quick look around them and sighed; they wouldn’t be able to keep the rest of the student body quiet for long and she was already dreading the uproar.

“D’you think we really can keep that secret from them? We couldn’t keep the fact we’re worried from the group that’s gone missing. What’s important that we’re honest with them, let them know we’re here to help and provide the information they need.” Not being honest with them is what got them here. They know something’s wrong. A girl’s gone missing. If they know nothing, they’re going to find their own answers.

Honestly, considering all of the things that could happen tonight further than the attack, students up and leaving was the last of what Lennox knew anyone needed. Not only were they looking for Rosmerta Daniels, but now there was a group of vigilante students off to find her as well. He admired their reasons, however their choices were far from what was needed. They could get themselves killed. “They’ve just gone? Oh Merlin, Merlin, Merlin.”
