As everyone would see, we kinda live in a new golden age of period dramas. This trend seem to have seen its dawn since the day The Tudors aired on our TVs in 2007. I still remember all the fuss about the show’s constantly displayed sexuality “Oh my God, Middle Age nobility scored more than in Hollywood!”, which I suspect was portrayed this way to divert from, you ‘now, historically accurate represantation.

Still, it has been a good try to portray historical facts, mainly from the not-so-mainstream Middle Ages/Renaissance, adapting them for modern audiences and entertainment. Sex and intrigues, that’s the XXI century’s panem et circensem.
