Been awhile I guess

((But it doesn’t change anything about me coming back yet. I don’t know, I hardly went out of my way to interact with people but always wanted more to interact with anyway. This wasn’t going to work out doing things like that, but I guess on the bright side, I made a very good friend who I continue to RP with on discord. Too kind to me if you ask me. I won’t delete the account, but as it is right now I just can’t bring myself to keep going with other people.))

An attempt was made. Might colour it, might not. This was just a stress relief drawing so I’m honestly chuffed.

“Good thing. Sounds like a plan at least. Keep in mind I know basically nothing about flora and other random plants. So you’re basically on your own until we actually do some research.”

“Well I know succulents are particularly hard to kill. Lillys are poisonous to me. Uh… what else… I like orchids.”

“I’ll avoid them then. The lillies. I think we’ll get a succulent or a few, go from there. We can move up to orchids or whatever else you like later, like month or two.” Aurik promised, checking in his wallet just to make sure he had extra funds to spend. Even after eating out he still did, even if he were starting to run a bit low.

“Let’s wait a bit to make any plant commitments.” He chuckled. “They’re hardly worth going hungry over.”

“Good idea. Succulents aren’t that expensive at least, but I should at least find a more permanent place of work. The way I live was never really effective for staying in one place like we are.”

“’Like today’ as in go out to a food place another time or go out again today? Because I wouldn’t mind taking you somewhere again today, but I also don’t want to make you eat too much too fast with how your stomach is like hardly the size of mine. Need to take it slow to stretch it back to proper size. Maybe there’s an activity you’d want to do or try with me?”

“I didn’t mean it had to be food. Just somewhere with you. Hunting? We could try that at some point? I don’t know what else we could do.”

“Oh, yeah. Hunting. See unless we get you a hunting license, I technically can’t take you out to actually hunt. Bit nonsensical for hunting rabbits, but if you want to do it legally…” Aurik sighed, leaning against the arm of the chair he got up from. “Plus there isn’t much talking allowed for it if you want to actually sneak up on something.”

“You need a licence to do that?” He sighed. “Fine. Fine. Never mind then. Never needed one before.”

“Probably never got caught. Unless you meant back at your home, in which case the laws there were probably less strict. People here have a tendency to hunt a little more than they should, not really giving much time for repopulation. So maybe we could do... do you like plants? We could get a few potted plants to take care of.”

“Ahh, she sounds… interesting. Six legs and about as tall as I am? Yeesh what a reminder that I’m short.” Aurik joked with a chuckle. “She does sound nice when you talk about her. Maybe I can meet her some day.”

“I’m sure you’re an ok height for whatever you are.” He tried to comfort. “I don’t know of course. I’m short for my kind. So don’t feel bad about your height. I get it.”

Smiling the chimera shrugged. “Still taller than most of the people on the planet. Granted, I’m not too bothered by being short though, at least I can fit in smaller areas.”

“Yeah. You tell yourself that.” He smiled. “And yeah. I really hope that you two can meet one day as well.”

“You say that, but what about when you need someone to fit in some place where you lost something? Here’s hoping I get to see her though.” Deciding to get up he rose one arm and pulled it with the other to stretch, repeating with the other arm. “So I guess about earlier when I said I liked you... that wasn’t a no was it? More of a ‘let’s just wait for a while’? If that’s the case... I’ll try to stick around.”

“Ah… at least they know. Could be worse. Guessing your parents actually care to finish solving this mess, not that I can really say the same for mine. Sounds like you’ve got enough on your plate than hearing about my solved problems though.”

“Ahhh. You’ve listened to me ramble. If you’re keen to share then by all means.” He shrugged. “We’ve got time to kill.”

“Fine have it your way.” Leaning back to get comfortable he crossed one leg over the other. “I’ll try to summarize it at least. Essentially I wasn’t really naturally born, unfortunately in a place where creating living things was forbidden under a nameless threat. I mean, I turned out okay so I dunno what they were worried about. My quote unquote human parents were found out for having done it, my dad escaping with me while my mom bought us just that little bit of extra time. Can only guess what happened with her after never seeing her again. Lived with my dad secluded in in a cottage in the woods and he turned abusive, at least until I ran away say… four or five years ago. Glad I’m a quick learner, otherwise I probably wouldn’t be sitting here.”

“Oh… ah… I’ll be honest I really wasn’t expecting that. I’m terribly sorry about your mother. She sounds nice. And I guess about your father too. All you had was each other and to turn on you… maybe we should lighten the mood. Huh?”

“Would it be bad of me to say I still think I shouldn’t have left him..?” With a quiet sigh he shook his head and looking down. “Yeah. Should probably change the subject. Let’s see...” Although nothing really came to him, leaving him to pause for a little while. “Er, what’s your dog like? Sounds like a she from as far as I heard.”

“I know. Laugh it up. Hard to believe right? Oh how far I’ve fallen. And if I’d tried to kill someone you’re right. I’d end up stabbing myself or something daft. I’m not exactly a fighter. Though I think I’m moments like that instinct takes over.”

“No- no, I didn’t mean to be rude with it. You’re right though, I was just under the assumption your uncle was rich given the context I’ve heard. I’d offer fighting lessons, but I fall under the impression you aren’t really interested in that sort of thing. At all.” Having already opened his eyes while Ater spoke his story, he closed the one on his tail once again before letting it fall to his side comfortably. “I’m really sorry to hear that though. It’s a real terrible situation you were forced in.”

“If you’d like to hear it. Sure. It’s gonna sound stupid. Because a way to deal with it is to say everything offhand. Anyway. I was pretty much kidnapped. This guy didn’t like me too much. Was a friend of the family. Anyway he got the guards to keep quiet about where I was because they’re the general. And eventually one came clean to my parents. Dux heard and in a fit of rage gave me this scar. As well as framing me for murder. Passing off the reason they held me without telling anyone was to interrogate me and find out why I did it. They didn’t want to come public with this information since I was a royal and it’d be a scandal or whatever lie it was. Something like that. I was in shock at the time. It’s all hazy. I know I didn’t kill anyone.”

“Ugh what a load of political bull shit. Kidnapping and framing, giving a probable but not a good reason for keeping you somewhere and keeping quiet about it. Wait a sec though... you’re royalty?” Stifling a laugh he grinned with his teeth showing, shaking his head. “I’ll take you word for it. Honestly though you really don’t seem the type to kill people without a damn good reason. Even then I can’t see you actually murdering anyone. Would probably slip up and let the other person kill you in self defense first.”
