The sword clearly cuts his wrist and waist. I mean he took the guys sword away, sure, but also fucked up his own ability to fight at the same time. It’d be one thing if he was wearing armor, but this is like a dueling thing.

I think you give too much credence to a Sword’s ability to cut. This is from the manual I practice, “Il Fior di Battaglia,” “The Flower of Battle,” by Fiore dei Liberi. I have performed this maneuver, and I’ve gotta say, when done right, it feels good.

Point being, if you do it right, when you pivot around your guard and bring the pommel around the blade, your wrist does come into contact with the edge, but there is no sliding motion, and it’s that sliding motion that causes a blade to slice. You pivot, pull against the blade, and it goes flying as your wrist pulls away from the edge.

I’ve never made a blade go flying so far as the guys in this video, but even if I did, the blade doesn’t have the right kind of leverage and power behind it to cut into his waist there. It would strike him, and he might feel it, but I doubt it would even scratch his clothes.

Even the Gods have bad days. Even the Gods feel down. Even the Gods hurt.

Do you honestly think Artemis wasn’t confused, upset, and maybe even felt a little betrayed when Orion tried to kiss her and, upon rejecting him, he became angry with her?

Do you think Hephaestus wasn’t crushed when his own MOTHER rejected him and literally THREW HIM OUT? Do you think he doesn’t have bad self-image issues because of his disabilities or he doesn’t get lonely all by himself? Do you think he wasn’t a little hurt when his wife loved and chose Ares over him?

Do you think Apollo is never hurt that the humans reject his light? Or he never feels angry at his family for some of the shit they do to the point he doesn’t want to talk to anyone for a while?

Do you think Demeter isn’t depressed when Persephone is with her husband? That she wasn’t shocked, outraged, hurt, heartbroken, and worried when Persephone first ran off with Hades?

Do you think Hera never feels betrayed by Zeus’ cheating? That she doesn’t lay awake at night blaming herself, the Goddess of marriage, and feeling worthless because her husband fucks anything that moves?

Do you think Zeus never does things out of anger? That he never regrets the way he’s acted or things he’s done? That he’s never felt a broken heart from the loss of a child?

Do you think Aphrodite has never once felt guilty about her husband? She’s never once felt bad about herself or like she’s just something to lust after or that people only like her for her looks?

Do you reeaaallly believe Athena has never ONCE made a mistake? That she never once felt stupid?

The Gods have felt bad, broken, unloved, and a whole lot more. But they continue to shine. They continue to be a beacon, a pillar, to stay strong and go forward, to get the most out of life. They love you and they’re there for you when you need them the most. They believe in you and they know you’ll get through this.
