Her ears droop for a moment , it seemed as though he’d caught onto her zoning out . . But he dropped it after that , so it was okay ! Flinching at the flick , her expression becomes unamused. One of these days she was gonna flick him back , see how he liked it.

And those ears immediately perk up again. Aha . . Well if that’s how it was going to be , “Just you wait , I’ll cook something great and kick your butt ! ” Love comment aside , thems fightin’ words. Inhaling deeply, she pushes her sleeves up and huffs off to go find something to cook.

She takes on an apprehensive look at first , though it gives way to something of a vacant look as he prattles on about cooking. Now , she appreciated the thought , she really did . . But she wasn’t going to be able to retain half of what he just said. All she knew about cooking was , kill something , skin it , stick it over fire , then eat. Otherwise you went and dug something out of the ground , or grabbed something from a bush and ate it. Food was food. Why did there have to be weird ways to eat it?

By the time he’s finished , she’s floated back to reality. Snapping out of it, she gives a nod before clearing her throat , “ Y - Yeah . . ” She didn’t get half of that , as predicted , “ We’ll see , I guess. What do we . . Even cook ? I guess I should go hunting soon . . ” As usual , she’ll be making meat of some sort.

“…I’m up against Artie, huh..? Well, shit. This…is not boding well for me.” The ONE person he didn’t want to face off against! What’s with that!? Is this rigged?!

“ . . . ” Well, she’d like to be smug about the upcoming competition but . . In all honesty , she wasn’t that great of a cook. And she’d really only joined because he had. So , she shrugs , “ I wouldn’t worry too much about it. It’s just for fun , yeah ? ” She says , knowing full well she’s likely to bomb it.

Yes, it was absolutely due to embarrassment, but if he said anything of the sort she’d make sure he regretted it. Regardless, a muffled squeak of surprise escapes the goddess as she finds herself lifted up and into a hug, her kiss returned eagerly. Though once he did so and she took a moment to process it, she relaxed and softened the pressure she was putting against his lips until they broke away.

Face beet red, Artemis huffs and averts her gaze, “ Shuddup . . I will get better at it, I just need practice. So . . I expect you to use the time you would spend ‘complimenting’ others to help me with that. ” Her expression becomes tinged with a certain smug aura and though her face retained its pink color, she had straightened herself up and returned her focus to him.
