This blog is basically a mailbox for girlfriend that she doesn’t have a key to yet. It may also serve as a time capsule of how my love for her has grown and changed as we get older.

I’m keeping us both anonymous, but making it obvious enough that it’s me writing to her.

I started writing because I had words to say, and writing them down was an easy way to clear my head. I’m brutally honest in these letters. They are an expression of deep affection, strong fears, and complete loyalty.

Some of these will be sweet, but most of them will be heavy. Read with care. Most letters are written when things get dark and company isn’t wanted. I want her to know she is never alone. I want her to know she will always be loved.

Believe me that I sprinkle many of these words into our conversations, but I’ve never been good with words and writing has always come easier to me, and so the letters began.

For now, she doesn’t know this blog exists. I’m not really keeping it from her, but I’m not really going to tell her either. If she finds it on her own:

I think you’re mad at me because I couldn’t drive you home. Or maybe because I texted your dad directly about gas money. Or maybe because we didn’t get to follow through with plans. I just think you’re mad at me

You swore you weren’t but your tone felt more serious. You said you weren’t mad and I believed it for the moment just because I felt like I was gonna pass out. I felt so bad. I feel so bad.

I hope you don’t think I’m lying about it. I know I try to keep up an act even when things are bad and I guess that works against me in these cases

I guess I feel like I’m unneeded.

And I feel wanted and all, but often im at a loss. I don’t know what to do. And you like distance, so when you don’t need me, and I can tell you don’t want me either, then it’s like, why do you even like me?

And this is maybe just stacking on top of the sex thing. If I can’t have sex, why bother staying with me? You could have someone that is me + sex instead. You don’t need me

And I guess you probably do, cause you keep me around, but I don’t feel it when it matters. I feel like a bystander instead of someone on your team.

And I think you mean it that way, because you like things alone or maybe you feel you need things to be alone, I don’t know really. You’ve said it’s both, but that doesn’t really help me figure out what’s going on haha

But I think that’s why you want me to be a bystander. Either way, I just, don’t know. I feel like a burden when I’m trying to be helpful. All I have are stupid feelings and words, but actions speak louder than words, and I have no actions, because I’m awful at actions.

I’m also awful at words but at least I have a few of those. I don’t know

I knew it would be me or someone else. It’s heartbreaking but I always knew that’s how it would be.

At least the break up wasn’t immediate. Maybe I was too honest too soon. You should know how I feel, but also, I should just feel normal, right?

If this is the beginning of the end I just want to say I’m sorry I did this. I know it was me. I’m so sorry that I did this.

(Unless you cheated. I don’t think you would, but if you’re reading this after cheating.. how could you?)

I am not mad. I am not upset.

I love you. The intention of us is to spend forever together.

That means I’m going to worry about you. I know you don’t want that, but I will, even on the most perfect day straight out of a teen romance movie. I will worry, because you’re my forever, and I don’t want to lose it.

I ask you a lot if you’re okay, and if you’re sure, and I put trust in your words. If you seem off and just tell me you’re tired or it’s been a day, I took those answers and didn’t push.

(And maybe I should’ve pushed, and maybe that’s my mistake?)

I also know you like to process alone, and that’s okay, and I don’t want to take that away from you.

But I need to trust you when you say you are okay, and I need to know that when you’re not you have support.

You don’t have to come to me or tell me every single detail.

But you’re right and things feel out of the blue because I was trusting you when you said you were okay.

Hello, precious.

It is a few days after what I am calling our “first fight”?

Not in a real way. It’s not a fight. Just a miscommunication.

But it’s still scary nonetheless. I found myself wanting to ask you what to do.. but I couldn’t.. cause you were the one mad at me.

Kind of funny, huh?

I know you didn’t tell me to make me upset but I kind of made myself upset anyway. And that’s my honesty, since you shared yours.

I just thought you were gonna be mad for a while. Usually you avoid me when you want space and you kinda.. didn’t?

Which I was happy for but it also made me cautious. Usually people don’t get over stuff like that? Maybe I made YOU feel bad. I don’t know. I’m sorry.

I’m kind of sorry for all of it. I know we established it was both / no one’s fault, but I still feel to blame.

I was fully prepared for this to be the end, honestly. That should tell you enough about how scared I am.

I guess you should know that about me. You can look at me wrong and I’ll be preparing for the breakup.

But we’re okay I guess, cause we’re kind of back to normal now. I guess we were kind of back to normal that afternoon, except for me being scared of doing absolutely anything.

But we’re okay. You haven’t broken up with me yet.

Just so you know, you will only ever be reading any of these if we do break up, or if we get engaged.

Or if they’re relevant. Cause sometimes I can word things better in writing than when you need to hear them. But that will be a very special circumstance.

Hi honey,

So, we didn’t ever finish one of our conversations. There’s some stuff I’d typed and never got to send because we went to sleep. I just want to tell you. Everything after this was supposed to be a text, sometime after we’d gone to rodeo.

As a general someone I care about, I’m going to check on you.

It’s not something I see as a chore. I’m here willingly. You didn’t force me. I chose to be with you, knowing not every day is going to be a good one, and that I’d be there for bad ones and be faced with deciding what to do about it. This is true of anybody I spend my time with.

Which yes, does mean I may step away from someone else for you, but that’d be my decision, of my free will.

Even if you were the reason I made that decision, I still chose that, and I would choose it again, over and over, because I care about you.

And if that ruined a moment, it’s 100% worth it if it means you feel supported and cared about when you need it. That’s my choice. I choose you. There will be other moments. I only have one of you.

However, I enjoyed today, despite everything. I can give you reasons why if you need them.

And, I can tell you that my Opa likes you. And who gives a shit about my siblings?

My Opa called you the 4th gkid at the gate when we walked in.

He was worried about you today; He doesn’t worry about just anyone. I don’t say that to make you feel guilty- that’s supposed to be reassuring?

He’s not hiding anything, unless he’s lying to me too, but he’s kind of the only adult I trust to not do that to me.

My sister doesn’t like any of my friends. She doesn’t like ME. I know that isn’t comforting the way it needs to be, but If anything, it just means you’re just as liked as anyone else.

My brother doesn’t care as long as he can play Roblox at the wedding

Idk if any of that is reassuring. Especially considering everything, it does make sense that you’d worry.

But all of that being said-

I think me not knowing what to do was also a factor in today, and we should talk about that too.

But overall I just want you to know you didn’t ruin anything. I’m sorry the day was off, but I don’t think it was ruined unless you didn’t enjoy it.

Id been wanting to start doing this for a little bit but I just.. hadn’t yet. Unfortunately, the circumstances are.. yeah, so, I think now is a time to start.

I wanted to write down things I wish I could tell you/things I don’t know how to actually say, and one day, give them to you. I don’t know if that’s like, romantic, or whatever. I just.. suck at words. But I know how to write.

Today is 3 days after your relapse.

J told me that you’d asked him to tell me you were fine, but that he hadn’t believed you. I didn’t either. From my understanding, you told me directly after.

I just need you to know that you don’t have to be okay for me. I told you that. I meant it.

You don’t burden me when you aren’t okay. You don’t burden me ever. You’re just showing me a new part of you, and it may not be something you think is good, but I’m going to look at it and I’m going to say “okay, I love you anyway”. I won’t think any less of you, ever. I’m just, here, and I’m here willingly. Im not upset, or mad, or disappointed. But I am.. worried.

I know that you don’t want me to worry, though. And I can’t promise that.

I love you. I love you with all my heart. I love you more than words can tell you. I love you more than anything. And not just as a Hazbin thing. I mean it. I love you more than anything I’ve ever loved.

So, that love will become worry. Especially for you. I know you like to handle things alone, and I’m quite the opposite. When bad things happen, my instinct is help. You want distance. So, my worry just.. sits. The love and worry sit. Until I find reason to let that worry go (which, is usually when I can see you and hear you and hold you).

And telling you this is just because I want you to understand why there is worry.

I worry about people I love, because worry is how you express love that you have to hold on to. Like how grief is love that you can’t give? Worry is griefs temporary cousin.

I love you. I’m going to worry. It’s because I love you, and I want to keep loving you.

I don’t know how to be distant. I’ll learn, but.

Anyway, worry isn’t a bad thing. I know you don’t want me to, and I’m sorry that I do.

I just love you. So much. One day I’ll tell you about that too.

You’re going to be okay. I know you will be. I just.. don’t know what to do until then.

But, we’re in it together. You don’t have to be alone. I will hold your hand and walk through the fire with you.
