Without a doubt, I know these photos are of the Leyendecker brothers, Joe age 22 and Frank age 19 when they traveled to Paris in order to study art. This was the time of the decadent movement, originally given to art and literature by hostile critics. They met many Art Nouveau and Impressionist artists; like Mucha, Gauguin and Toulouse- Lautrec who influenced their work; especially that Posters were transcending from advertising into graphic artworks. The Leyendeckers virtually invented the whole idea of modern magazine design.
