daeyeol just simply nodded in response, cuddling up to his boyfriend without any delay. the kiss against his cheek had him humming, clearly content with their sweet alone time. finally, they could have something of a normal relationship together, even if it was just for a brief second or so.

“then let’s melt,” daeyeol giggled as he suddenly felt lips pressing against his neck, which made him let out some light chuckles as well as tinted his ears light pink. hearing minseok mentioning a quick romp intrigued him, but the idea was scrapped since they were still waiting for dinner. well, a nice time in, maybe a movie and some private, intimate time together was all daeyeol could ever ask for.

it was the perfect date, for him at least.

“i’m okay, just some water. can’t have too much of this or that, they’ll catch onto me,” daeyeol implied and it was pretty obvious who he meant when he said ‘they’. however, he was at least glad that minseok offered instead of just assuming. “but thank you hyung,” daeyeol replied as he leaned up in minseok’s embrace to press a quick kiss against his lips.

“you still didn’t answer my question though, do you want anything from japan?”

he adored being like this with daeyeol but of course, their schedules and the company wouldn’t allow that so they had to hide and keep their relationship a more or less secret. which was fine, minseok didn’t mind, as long as he had daeyeol close to him, he could be happy.  he giggled at dayeol’s response to his comment. 

“mmm, you’re making this so hard to not devour you so quickly,” he smiled, pressing kisses all over daeyeol’s neck, careful not to leave marks. the idea of a quickie was tempting but he would rather have a nice dinner, a nice night in and maybe some intimate time later on. It was an ideal date that he’d palnned for them. 

after getting his kiss, he got up and brought from the kitchen a glass of water and a glass of wine for himself, since it had been one of those days. “of course, my dear. I understand fully... besides, wouldn't want you showing up hungover otherwise everyone may be suspicious,” he states, humming in response. he snuggles close and looks at his boyfriend when he’s asked again about japan. 

“hmm... what do i want from japan? Thats a good question...maybe something that would make think of you?” he states.

daeyeol couldn’t believe that he and minseok were about to be heading to totally different places, especially in the summer. 

it had just been about six months since they decided to make their relationship official- as well as a secret. daeyeol had been absolutely spooked when they were going to be monitored more heavily, but at least they weren’t in contact with minseok often. it would have been more difficult if they were both idols. 

when minseok’s messages and plans came in, daeyeol was already excited. he had received the messages early in the morning and eagerly replied back.

[sms - minseok hyung] any requests from japan? 

after their practice was over, daeyeol grabbed his gym bag and quickly showered and changed out of his regular training clothes into something much nicer. form fitting black pants, a simple baby blue button up with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and a simple pair of black soaks and leather black loafers. once dae just simply ran a hand through his hair, trying to keep it pretty simple and not too crazy, he called a cab and headed to minseok’s apartment.

daeyeol expertly punched the code into the door, walking in with his gym bag and backpack. his forehead was already covered in a light sheen of sweat, thanks to the humidity outside. after popping his shoes off, he dramatically let his bags fall off his arms as he barreled right into minseok, snuggling up to the elder.

“hyung~” he whined, trying to cool off as he popped two buttons from the top of his collared shirt. “it’s so hot out, i’m gonna die and melt away.”

Minseok turned the AC on, keeping the apartment nice and cool. He’d been sitting on the couch, just mentally zoned out, enjoying the cool air in the room. It was  way too hot  to actually function and hearing his cute boyfriend stroll in made him smile. “I was going to reply to your texts but figured I’d see you later anyway,” he hums, wrapping an arm around the other with a grin. 

He pressed a kiss to Daeyeol’s cheek, having missed him quite dearly. They had been a secret for six months now and he was rather disappointed in the lack of their interactions since they rarely saw each other but it was good thing for the mutual feelings and being in their situation. The actor clung close to the idol with a grin. 

“If you’re going to melt away, my dear, then why don’t you melt away with me?” he asked, his voice taking on a seductive tone as he pressed more and more kisses to daeyeol’s neck. “i’d go for a quickie but sadly our dinner will be arrving in a bit, but in the meantime, do you want a cocktail of some sort?” Minseok hummed.

Minseok was eager toget some time with his lover. They would be too far apart soon with Daeyeol off to Japan and Minseok off to the States. He wanted to have some time for a nice date night. He'd ordered in, popped open a nice bottle of wine and had sent a text to Daeyeol that morning to dres nice and come over.

Minseok had sent those messages off in the morning and now it was evening. Hed had a long day of practice and work but he just wanted to see his cute lover. The mere thought was just so exciting.

minseok was not a singer. of course, he'd auditioned for the company in the beginning with Once Upon a Dream, however, this was well into the career that he’d decided on.  minseok had established himself as an actor and so to have to sing again, he would wasn't really into the idea, besides the young man was still quite bitter over having been punished and passed over for casting. that whole train of thought was also very much an industry killer for him. he attended the workshops with no issue but he was just tired of being ignored, being undermined, being outcasted. he knew  how everyone else looked at him. They must see him as some sort of troublemaker, weirdo... 

a song from a musical for the audition, however? he knew exactly the one he’d go for. Well, there was two in his range. he pondered the decision at home over some drinks. Maybe, he could flex, he supposed, pondering the two song choices he had. Finally he’d settled on one. He already had his date of his audition and he showed up in mid June, for his audition. He had no expectations, after all, he’d held off on everything, since he was still upset at being called out like a child and scolded. He wore a casual white button down and jeans. He wasn’t here to impress. He already knew that he would never make it as a lead or anything. 

part 1: song 

When his name was called for the first part of the audition, he stepped up. He had introduced himself and mentioned, “I will be singing an excerpt from Waving Through a Window...” He began singing, his voice hesitant. 

The song that he’d chosen was pretty close to his own feelings of the past few months. “Step out, step out of the sun If you keep getting burned Step out, step out of the sun Because you've learned because you've learned .....”He definitely felt that he didn’t belong in the acting field, let along the entertainment industry so he genuinely felt like he was stuck on the outside. As he sang, his voice was confident and he knew his own range. 

“We start with stars in our eyes We start believing that we belong But every sun doesn't rise....” He wasn’t hitting the high notes but he made an effort. He finished singing, his emotions almost raw.

part 2: scenario

Minseok expected to do well at the dancing. He wasn’t a dancer either. But the next part was improv and he was given his scenario. “don’t look at me like you’re sorry. you’re not sorry.” he was told.

The actor was in his element at that point. The raw emotion of apologies slid right off his face and a condescending smirk made it onto his lips. “Fine, if I’m not sorry, I’m not sorry then. I told them the truth. That it was all you,” he said, a cold mocking tone gracing his voice. “After all, it was all you who sold me out. You tried to frame me. Some best friend you are,” he states, circling as though he’s walking around the invisible best friend. His arms fell open and out of the pockets. “But I am surprised that you managed to get out so early. Good behavior, right? Or did you sell someone else out to get your little ticket to freedom,” a scoff solidified this sentence and a stop. He then spun around and made his way back to his original spot. “We are no longer friends. We may have been at some point, but  I have moved on from your little backstabbing charade,” he said, hissing out the word the charade.  

“Besides, I don’t think we’d be seeing each other more. If I have my way, you, my dear best friend, are going back behind bars,” he stated. He then leans close, and with a menacing smirk, “And I’ll make sure you stay there. Can’t have you come raining on my parade again,” he added when he was told  that his time was up. 

The actor straightened and  bowed politely before leaving the theater.

oh shit.

oooooh shit.

daeyeol tried to keep his face as neutral as possible but he was panicking. he was sort of expecting some kind of rejection, because after all, friends with benefits never really benefitted anyone in the long run. that’s what it was supposed to be, just some typical bullshit: sex and no feelings. no strings attached.

but then he’s pulled closer, lips pressing onto his before he can even react. minseok pulls away, stunning the younger man before another kiss silenced him. and minseok spoke again, this time actually confirming daeyeol’s feelings, much to the idol’s complete surprise.

“you… do?” he spoke back, dumbly, absolutely shocked by the idea that minseok actually loved him. was this a sick joke or something? shyly, the idol moved forward, closing his eyes to press his lips against minseok’s, hoping that the actor wasn’t playing with his fragile heart.

Minseok laughed, and pulled the idol close to him. Friends with benefits rarely worked out in their favor but they had been doing this for a long time, they were actually friends, so minseok allowed himself to fall and fall deeply for the younger. “of course i do...”he stated. He genuinely did like daeyeol but he’d been afraid to label what they were. 

he wasn’t playing at all, and as much as daeyeol’s heart was fragile, so was his. he’d been chased after for the money and his status, so it was a nice feeling to be in love who didn’t care about that. he chased more kisses, pressing kisses to daeyeol’s cheeks, lips and trailing to his neck. “why had we taken so long?” minseok asked, genuinely asking. he couldn’t answer as to why it had taken them so long himself but maybe daeyeol had some idea. 

“after all....i think i may have had this feeling for you...for a really long time,” he mumbled, holding the other close.

“i like anything you give me,” daeyeol blurted out, his eyes just staring at the coat with absolute joy. it was rare that daeyeol was so open about his feelings but the trust he had built up between him and minseok was currently unshakeable. expressing himself came easy to him. it felt like just talking with his best friend without a care in the world.

“you could’ve given me anything and i would’ve accepted it, hyung,” daeyeol added, his voice soft but holding a variety of different emotions. he felt so overwhelmed suddenly, seeing his name embroidered on such an expensive coat.

“i love anything you give me hyung, i love you–” suddenly he paused, realizing the severity of his words as what felt like ice cold water pour down his spine. he froze, too afraid to glance back at minseok in fear of rejection. he had never admitted these feelings out loud… his heart was pounding and he nervously waited for any kind of response, positive or negative.

It was the genuine appreciation, and admiration that threw Minseok off. The actor was smacked in the face figuratively with all the feelings that he's avoided for so long. Their relationship had been undefined for so long that Minseok was scared that if they put a label on it now, it would be like putting an expiration date and he hated that was what he was thinking.

They had built a truly unshakable trust though and Minseok was having moments of hesitation in his head. All that greeted Daeyeol while Minseok was having an internal conflict of emotions and thoughts was silence. Oh, he really had nothing to say to Daeyeol’s bold confession but as he thought more, the silence grew louder.

So Minseok did the only thing he could. He pulled him closer, letting the expensive coat fall and kissed him, a soft and sweet kiss of emotions.

"I wasn’t expecting that...but..." he began, and pressed another kiss to Daeyeol’s lips, "if it was what I think it was..then please know, the feelings are mutual...I love you." He stated, not pulling away too far, still staying close so that he could chase more kisses.

Let’s Style ||

Tee is always happy when he encounters people he hasn’t seen in some time or those he may have lost touch with. Those that move to other paths especially are the ones he’s always happy to see again. He had been keeping up with the older male’s career since they had last shared a dorm and he’s glad to see how much Minseok has accomplished since switching paths. At least he now had someone he knew and could trust that he could turn to for help because lord knows he needed it.

❛ It’s still more than me, hyung, ❜ he chuckled. ❛ You plan what you’re wearing and always make sure you look fashionable and chic. I just throw on whatever and hope for the best. ❜ Tee never really put thought into his outfits unless it was for a special occasion. He’d never been to the jungle so he had no idea what that look was. ❛ What even is jungle fashion, hyung? ❜

Tee nodded and smiled at the older male. ❛ Together, hyung. ❜

Switching career paths was a decision made early in his time at LGC but he was honestly finding the acting path a lot more to his preference than the idol path. he wasn’t a singer or dancer, so this had been the best way to take on the talents he had and he knew didn’t have. But it was nice reuniting with those he considered his friends before all the changes and Tee was one of those people. Much like the other, he’d also been following Tee’s career as well, supporting the other behind the scences. 

he laughs and crosses his arms. “nah, you’re still quite a bit more stylish. I don’t plan my outfits at all. only when i want to make an impression and  even that is rare,” he states, thinking and glancing over tee’s outfit. “besides, you look good today,” minseok adds. as tee asks him what jungle fashion is, minseok ponders the question. “Maybe camoflauge? or like.....” he gags, “khaki.”

he was so excited when he saw minseok’s face look at the gift he had prepared. minseok was clearly pleased, happy to get something so lovely and quaint. he smiled when he felt lips press against his cheek, a blush so nicely decorating his ears afterwards. 

as he slowly zipped the zipper open, he was absolutely shocked looking at the coat. it was absolutely gorgeous, and he immediately starting inspecting it. it was so warm and he was shocked by the fact that minseok would go all out like this. for just someone like him?

“this is… amazing,” he breathed out, still in absolute awe of the craftsmanship of the coat. it was absolutely gorgeous and something that he could wear often, especially in the winter. he turned to look at minseok, his eyes filled with absolute adoration for the other.

“hyung thank you so much! it’s absolutely beautiful… you really didn’t have to get me anything like this!”

minseok couldn’t help but have a large smile grace his lips as he watched daeyeol open his present from him. he knew that the other wouldn’t let him buy clothes and spoil him on the regular but since this was a gift, daeyeol absolutely wasn’t allowed to say anything about returning it. There was so much glee for the actor. of course, he’d go all out for daeyeol. he actually liked him and would never actually say that out loud because that may make it even more real than he felt. 

“i’m glad you like it,” he shyly stated. it was rare for minseok to be extremely nervous but the sheer happiness in daeyeol’s gaze was enough for the actor to be like nervous. 

“but i really wanted to get you something nice....” he added. of course, minseok shakes his head, always.

It seemed that Jinseo’s whole family were incredibly fashionable (or at least most of them were). It was no secret who Jinseo’s cousins were considering how big the family was. While Tee hadn’t met most of them yet, he did know about them. Luckily, Tee knew Minseok though having met the older male quite some time ago when they shared a dorm. Now they were on the same team he felt a little relieved. He at least had someone he knew. Plus, Minseok was incredibly fashionable so he hoped the older would be able to guide him.

Tee was in no way fashionable and he was struggling. For Minseok though Tee was sure this competition would be a walk in the park. He felt more at ease seeing Minseok once again and he wondered how the older had been since they had both moved. Maybe he could use this time to catch up with the other male (and maybe ask him some things about Jinseo).

Minseok was glad to see Tee again. It was nice to know that there was another human that he knew on this show and he grinned excitedly. "I also have no idea what this whole experience will entail but hopefully we can do this well!" He exclaimed, laughing awkwardly. He was genuinely excited for this now that he knew that Tee was part of it.

"I know my fashion but not jungle fashion. I'm a city man through and through," he states, pointing out his outfit for the day. "Sleek yet modern, vintage yet always on style," he laughed, using the line from Catherine Tates Nan's Christmas Carol. He rubs the back.of his neck with a chuckle.

"But we can do this together right?" He asks.

he’s always overly friendly and he doesn’t think that adding a chan to people’s names isn’t that bad. that’s just that bartender extravert side coming into play. he genuinely tries his best at times. but he’s known yumi for a bit since she was his junior at the agency so he considered her on friendly terms. “Well, I’m sure that some sort of creative background helps,” he states with a grin. He has no creative background whatsoever as an engineering student and devout dnd player but he doesn’t intend to fall behind.

He nods in agreement as she talks about having the opportunity to do stuff like that and that while she enjoys modeling stuff, something different is always interesting, he keeps nodding. “I agree with that sentiment. Variety is the spice of life and everything comes in useful eventually. I also enjoy all the acting stuff and what I did in university but this is also quite fun and I’m sure will come in fairly useful in the future, even if it becomes a fun fact on variety shows,” he adds, crossing his arms with a grin at her.

yumi nods her head. there’s a part of her that believes a lot of this is simply talent based, and then there’s the other part of her that does have some hope that maybe it’s a skill that she can learn. regardless, she does want to try and do her best for the time being.

“exactly!” she chimes in when he explains that, even if they never put these skills into actual practice, they could be a fun fact used on a show or something. “but,” she begins, “if we all have this same fun fact, it’s not so fun anymore, is it?” she jokes. then again, she supposes that most people wouldn’t actually think too much about using this as a fun fact, so perhaps it might work after all. “what are some other things outside of acting that you’ve learned that you’ve enjoyed?” she asks curiously as she looks down at her blank sheet of paper.

He laughs and shrugs. "Maybe not everyone would use it as a fun fact to go to on the first thought. I don't think it'd be my first one in any case," he states. He stares at the sheet of paper in his lap and sighs, with shrug when she asks about other things that he's learned he likes outside of acting. He wonders if he should be honest. He ponders the query for a bit and starts to say something but stops.

"Actually, acting is something I've discovered I enjoy. I'm actually a engineer by education so I was supposed to go into engineering like most of my friends but I couldn't find a job so I instead delved into bartending and to be quite honest, I would have been extremely happy there too, but several customers told me that I was...." he pauses trying to find an ideal word. "...too handsome to stay in the dark all the time, so acting and this whole thing is a completely new foray for me.." he adds. He fold the blank piece of paper on his lap into origami as he speaks. "But at my age, everything seems like a new adventure," he states, looking at yumi.

when the company had told daeyeol and his groupmates that they needed to get their photos re-taken, to update their IDs and roster photos, daeyeol was actually pretty happy with the idea. his previous ID was quite old, over a few years old actually, and he desperately needed a new one. he hadn’t changed that much, but debuting in a group and maturing quickly had him wanting something new.

he hadn’t looked too hard at the roster, just making sure that he was going to come at the right time. but when he saw minseok’s name, a smile graced his lips. he had been so swamped with work that he thought the surprise would be good. minseok had been busy but daeyeol busier, starting their preparations for their comeback. he was excited to showcase their newest song.

when he arrived to the company, he quickly stopped by the bathroom, checking on himself to make sure he looked appropriate. a white t shirt underneath his black bomber jacket and a pair of well-fitting jeans; not too tight but not too baggy. his dark brown hair was unstyled but laid neatly across his forehead. he wasn’t very confident in doing his own hair, unfamiliar with all the different gels, pomades and various styling creams their stylists were artists with. he was wearing a thin layer of sunscreen, moisturizer and some concealer to cover his dark circles and the occasional pimple. 

just as he was walking out of the bathroom and into their waiting area, he saw a familiar sight. sneakily, he just lightly tapped minseok on the left shoulder before quickly side-stepping to his right with a grin on his face.

“hello to you too, minseok hyung~ here to get your updated photos too? did you get the questionnaire yet?”

when he was told that he had to get updated id photos, minseok had not been surprised. it had been some time since he’d joined the company (almost five years at this point, he supposed) and so it was high time to update and see how much he’d matured over the years. he actually couldn’t really believe it. five years since he’d joined lgc, and possibly like seven since he’d graduated with his engineering education. 

he hadn’t looked at the roster too much but seeing daeyeol’s name in his group made him smile. he really did miss the younger. last time they had any time together was after the holidays when they did their gift exchange and minseok wore the scarf all the time as a tie for his button downs. but he understood that daeyeol was incredibly busy with the group and the actor couldn’t help but be proud of everything that the younger was achieving. besides he himself was also busy trying to get his career from the standstill he had hit when he was punished. 

he had arrived at the company earlier that afternoon, some time before their group was supposed to get their pictures done. the actor/bartender looked like he’d stepped out of some magazine spread with his hair slightly styled to resemble waves and the usual white button down that he wore was traded in for a classic navy with a wine red handkerchief peeking out of the pocket. it was a match with the black skinny jeans he wore and the designer dress shoes on his feet. he looked every inch the chaebol and actor that he was. of course, minseok subconciously made the effort to look nice in case he saw daeyeol but it was also that built in professionalism of his. he took a seat in one of the chairs in the waiting room as he scanned the questionnaire in his hands. 

hearing footsteps, he peeked out of the corner of his eyes and grinned. the tap on his shoulder confirmed his thoughts. “daeyeollie~” he exclaimed, happy to see the younger. he grabbed the other’s hand and pulled him down to sit next to him. 

“of course, updated photos require the utmost professionalism,” he chuckled. He held up the sheet of paper in his hands. “Yeah, got the questionnaire. It’s ridiculous. Nothing has changed in the five years,” he added.

As they get ready to film, Soyoun accompanies the rest of Crystallis to greet the people involved in today’s episode of F&C Time. They had been told to prepare for filming today’s episode, but she isn’t sure what exactly is in store for them today. Regardless, everything is so new to Soyoun. As she approaches to greet and introduce herself to the rest of the staff, she also decides to greet their host for today. She has vaguely heard of Seo Minseok, but she hasn’t ever interacted with him. 

She blinks as he seems to already know who she is. “Yes, I’m Crystallis’ Astrid,” she says as she bows politely to him. She has had some time to get used to her stage name, but it still feels surreal to refer to herself as a Crystallis member and not an LGC Girls member. This feels more permanent, and she likes it. “I’m looking forward to working with you.” She isn’t sure what it is, but Minseok gives her the vibe that he’d rather be anywhere but here. Regardless, it’s not her business to ask. She then hands him the kimbap and energy drink. “Please take care of us in filming today.”

As the girl introduces herself as Astrid, he nods in acknowledgement of the stage name. He’s heard mentions of Soyoun and of course, he knows her simply by reputation. After all, she was the one who had done Daeyeol’s habaek costume and he had been very appreciative of her skills. “Astrid. Quite the unique stage name chosen. Lovely to officially meet you. I’m Seo Minseok, but you can call me Minseok,” he states, politely bowing and introducing himself as well. She seems nice and the rest of Crystallis as well, so maybe this would be quite interesting as hosting gig. 

A part of him does want to be anywhere but here. After all, he’s an actor first and foremost and he should be on the drama set but no, he wasn’t even given a chance to be in the drama. But he plans on putting himself fully into this, since he is a host as well and his charisma shines best on screen. As she hands him the energy drink and kimbap, he gives her a genuine smile and bows in gratitude. “No, please take care of me as well. I’m really looking forward to seeing what you girls have to show!” he exclaims. Minseok doesn’t want her to think that he is ungrateful to be here at all instead it’s more like the continued bitterness of his punishment.
