My home is, obviously, in England and I really hope to be able to get back next year. After all that happened here in terms of politics, I feel a strong urge to get out… I feel that I have achieved what I came here for, and the idea of coming back fills me with warmth. I love America, I love working here, but I am far from my friends and family and it's not easy.

I don't think we seek out patient moderation in love. I think it's ultimately what is good for us, but I think we want to be intoxicated to the point of losing ourselves.  Ultimately, there is a price to pay for that; which is a terrible hangover in the morning, or a fistfight, or a shouting match, or you know, tears and hysterics.  I think it's where as human beings we're at odds with what's good for us.

26 Times RA and LP Were Too Much in 2014

2014 was a fabulous year to be a fan of these two. May 2015 bring the same amount of adorkableness for us all!

1) When LP supported RA at The Crucible press night. (x)

why do you believe they're not together anymore?

I oscillate, Nonnie.

They were casually walking Pete last September, which points to them still being together. And I think it’s too crazy a coincidence that they were photographed together as “amicable exes”. So, they’re still together. Sexy Kings remain unbroken, etc. 

I didn’t expect Lee to show his face at the LLL opening night, because that’s too flashy for these two. Never thought he’d watch it multiple times, either. Or even be seen watching it once– “The Crucible” was the exception, not the rule. So, it doesn’t really speak to the state of their relationship that he wasn’t there. Really, no reason to think they’ve broken up.

The Marathon, though.

You cannot tell me that of all the people in this fandom, I’m the only person who tought it was weird that Richard wasn’t there.

But we don’t know he was there, do we? Lots of probabilities, though. He probably brought Lee to meet the CI team that morning– those guys would know better than to photograph Richard around Lee. But we don’t know if he did.

He probably stuck around to watch until he had to leave for the theater. True, but in that video of Lee greeting CI supporters and his family (somewhere around the 8th mile mark at approx 11:45am) Richard wasn’t there.

Maybe he was watching any time between 10:00am to 12:30pm before he had to leave for work. Maybe. But we don’t know that. I’m just applying the same thought process I applied a few years ago when I used to do lots of these and y’all loved me– little, tangible details I could evaluate that pointed to a clear-as-day rationale that they’re together, instead of assumptions.

Literally the only thing that points to Richard being there at the race is that we can’t prove he wasn’t. 

He didn’t stagedoor after his matinee, which meant he went somewhere. I’d assume it would be wherever Lee was, except someone somehow snapped post-marathon festivities, posted it publicly on line and wouldn’t you know– no Richard.

“Maybe Richard was there, just off camera.” Maybe, but it’s all assumption, isn’t it? I’m just going by that I see– or in this case, didn’t see. No Richard pre-race, no Richard during the race, no Richard post-race ergo, no Richard at all. 

“Obviously Lee’s friends know better than post Richard’s face.” True. But Mackenzie was there, so if Lee’s HACF friend was there, why can’t a Hobbit friend be there, too? Maybe that’s naive thinking on my part, but the alternative is that Richard was there but they’re just so damn paranoid about being seen breathing the same air… which is sad.

So, it was more likely that Richard wasn’t there at all, which brings me to the why of it, which then leads to me to wonder whether or not they’re still together. Right now the only reason I think they could still be together was that they were spotted together not two months ago (hence, oscillate.)

My favourite moment for Thorin in part 2 is the scene with Thranduil where he accuses the elf king of his earlier behaviour. That is a very dramatic and heavy scene.

Richard and I had some very intense scenes together. In real life we are about the same size, but in the film he is a dwarf and I am even taller than in reality. And so we rehearsed together, but each filmed on their own – and that was very complicated because our movements still had to fit together. It was like a dance without music, but with a very complicated choreography. And when I saw some of these scenes completely done for the first time I was completely blown away.

The ‘Cats’ rehearsal vids are always good for a giggle too. Nothing says ultra-masculinity like a grown man in full length leotard, complete with furry tail, crawling around on all fours, pretending to be a putty cat.

 (BTW not having a go at Cats. I realize that back in its heyday it was the bomb and all that. But I do love the idea that the man who played John Proctor, John Porter, and Thorin also spent 2 years of his life pretending to be a kitty. Gotta love it.)
